  1. How does it sound with the Tecamp and RM800 ?
  2. Nope they are “ special impedance speakers” which were designed by their supplier to enable 3 x 10 equal 4ohms
  3. I love mine too, great bass
  4. Well I’ve decided to return the Boss WL20 ( nothing wrong with it ) but I couldn’t get on with the dongle style So I’ve exchanged it for a new Shure GLXD16+ and ordered a second cable with RH Jack from designacable ! I definitely shouldn’t of sold my Shure last year but hey we do these things don’t we guys 😂
  5. Or try the Dunlop Flex triangles as they are softer sounding I often just back off the tone pot on my bass if too “ raspy”
  6. I would imagine 8 years later he’s using something else !!
  7. I had one and it was a great amp but I didn’t gel with the very mid focused EQ Build quality was very good but I suspect there are duff ones around like everything. Send it back under warranty if only 5months old
  8. Bargain price now less than half the price of new cabs
  9. Lovely bass My player series were great but watch the bridge saddle screws as they tend to loosen and mess up the action. Simple upgrade is changing the bridge or nail varnish on the screws
  10. Further updates on the T900 amp In my rock band with two guitars and reasonably loud drummer I can use the T900 into the Monaco 8ohm cab and it’s a lovely set up and loud. If I need even more I can use the PA or my Vanderkley 212 Now the T900 comes with an anti slip mat that is cut to the right size and definitely works very well. In B & M they sell on a roll the same stuff at £2.50 so I purchased some and cut a larger mat so any of my amps would stay put. The Monaco has a great tough finish but slightly lacking in grip compared to tolex or fur covering ! The T900 is a great amp, what you put in cleanly comes out, your bass tone is very clear and punchy as hell. Taste control is marvellous for getting clear or warm vintage in a single control !
  11. Yep I let mine go quickly and a bargain price but I purchased it heavily reduced in price new when Vintera II was released around £650 I recall Im sure yours will sell in time but nothing is moving fast at the moment as folks are holding on to their money !
  12. Great bass… as a guide I sold my nearly new Red Dakota for £400 ! Yours is priced a little high perhaps if you need a quick sale
  13. Yep the SGT pedal gets you real close I think
  14. I think getting close to sound is one challenge but the feel of playing into a full valve amp cannot easily recreated
  15. The EICH T900 is German built and a very modern sounding amp Clear and punchy with simple to use EQ and a clever “ taste control “ to adjust from sparkly clean to warm and dark
  16. In the context of rock I’ve owned the SVT CL bass head and SVT 610 cab More recently was using the V4B and SVT212AV cab I think the tone to me is a warm deep full sound with a little natural valve grit as required. It worked well in every rock band I played in. Today I’ve played the Ampeg PF800 head which was very close in sound but I moved it on as you do ! Ashdown RM800 EVO II gets close too as it has a warm sound although the drive feature isn’t close at all EICH T900 is my current amp and it’s clean and punchy and I prefer the clarity with this amp and better speakers so I’ve moved from the warm vintage tone and like the clear tone of the EICH I don’t think you need the very heavy amps from the past to sound as good in a band today just be thankful it weighs alot less !! Plus it’s easier selling class D amps as lighter to ship etc
  17. I had a massive issue with Parcel2Go when I shipped some gear( a bass ) as a seller to an eBay buyer who chose Argos in Sainsbury’s. Argos wouldn’t take it ( too large a box ) and the courier UPS shipped it back not to me the sender but a Parcel2Go depot !! Getting a response from Parcel2Go was a total nightmare and two weeks later it arrived back with me !! All ok until you need help and these parcel sites have terrible after sales service. UPS wouldn’t help as it was booked through P2G !!
  18. Nice rig 👍🤟
  19. I’m not talking about deep dub type reggae bass which is what you expect in the genres that suit but many young covers and original bands seem to favour a bright mid sounding bass very close to guitar mids etc and out front there seems to be a gap from drums to where traditional bass would sit then guitars. Perhaps in pursuit of small lightweight rigs the clout from big bass cabs is a thing of the past especially when they are not going through the PA which for small venues is typical as a vocals only PA
  20. Noticed recently that several bands I’ve seen the bass players tone are very lacking in deep bass and more “ guitar” like in tone Must admit I much prefer a deep full bass tone hence why I hear the difference compared to a pick played bass which is great for some songs. Curious to why bass players want to have such a tone without a deep bass sound ???
  21. Great cabs .. I have the same cab GLWTS
  22. Ampeg SVT112AV 300w 8ohm cab with tweeter Near mint condition as hardly used With Roqsolid cover Heavy duty rubber feet on end and base so can be used vertical or horizontal NOTE: I have now moved to Needham Market Suffolk

  23. Actually I’ve got a better sound now as it’s more suited to the band I’m now in. The V4B and the SVT cab was great for more vintage rock but suitable for all genres but the weight was the deciding factor. I’m enjoying a cleaner bass sound which has helped since acquired the LFsys Monaco and more recently the Vanderkley 212 cab which are both awesome
  24. That makes a satisfying read and good news you fixed it and for the better it seams I have a new EICH T900 amp which is very nice but EICH are terrible replying to emails or FB messages Great amps but terrible after sales support it would appear.
  25. Well I left behind the Ampeg V4B 100w valve head and heavy SVT 212AV cab and I found that most decent class D heads and new light cabs were a match for the tone Ashdown RM500 / RM800 is a good choice EICH T900 is a very nice choice ( my main amp now ) EBS Reidmar 752 also very nice, I’m selling mine as I need to thin the herd ! Cabs you could look at LFsys Monaco as it’s crazy loud and very light or perhaps Vanderkley or Barefaced ?? So much choice out there today
