  1. I have the MG 800 and it’s a fantastic amp. I tend to use the contour on the blue channel but mostly off. I found the orange contour played loud started to sound a little harsh. They are great amps and I run my Darkglass Omicron pedal into it and it sounds glorious for rock. One of the most underrated amps you can buy in my opinion and I’ve had most out there to compare to !!
  2. Onboard bass preamp is useful for tone changes on the fly but personally I’m a passive pickup user and preamp on the floor or amp kind of player I find the tone from passive basses more to my liking
  3. I’ve heard people say the lids rattle so my PF cabs were the fixed top style 115 plus horn
  4. Those amps were always rated as loud for their quoted watts Back in the day they were very popular and sounded great I recall
  5. You should be fine then as it not a terrible cab and for home use it will be perfect.
  6. For that head I’m sure it will be fine. I found PF cabs when pushed sounded flubby and not great but I’m sure a 20w head wouldn’t give it much concern
  7. Nice amp although I’m not a lover of the style of it. Avoid the PF cabs, I had the 115 and it was very flubby sounding and dark The SVT 112AV is a far superior cab and look good too
  8. We have a gig booking conditions that states parking on site and access to venue. Plus minimum set up space If a venue cannot offer that then don’t gig there !! Much less hassle that way and health & safely matters apply to us too as musicians!
  9. Having top input . Output jacks helps in every pedal !
  10. We are about to use BPM Live App in our band to stop drummer running away with tempo ! Will run it on an old IPad and mount it so sticks can see it !
  11. Speak to your band buddies and agree to take a band timeout ! Dont just leave as you will most likely regret it later. It’s surprising how a few weeks away can refresh the mind and make things seem clear once more. Stay strong
  12. I don’t think it’s been said it’s for fixing skill but improving the final sound which a compressor can do with certain styles that technique or lack of it would make any difference either way ! 😉🤣
  13. And in fairness most pedals would do that when increasing the gain. It’s only reproducing what is a actually present in the input signal
  14. And it’s worked flawlessly since I purchased mine. I pop mine in a Neotech pouch which goes in my back jeans pocket I wouldn’t be without it and you have a great tuner too
  15. I’m going back on to a pick so adding a compressor very soon !
  16. I’ve just ordered a new one so it will be interesting if I hear it ! It’s for playing live so I’m sure it wouldn’t matter anyway ! Playing with a pick and I need it to smooth out my playing a bit
  17. I turn my cab tweeter off on my SVT212AV cab and this helps achieve the right tone without being harsh
  18. Scrap it and get a new one on insurance ! Dont take the risk water and electricity will not end well and as mentioned it will start to corrode and fail eventually anyways
  19. I use an Ampeg SVt 212 and it’s always loud enough for a very loud rock band I guess a 210 would hang there just about but I would lean towards 212 4ohm cab or two 210 8 ohm cabs I think BF can do loud but it may not be pleasant to your ears so only you can decide as suggested
  20. We tune to Eb standard and I use Fender Nickel Plated Rounds and they sound good, decent tension and keep their zing for about 3months with regular gigs etc
