  1. Just seen the XVIVE A58 wireless system on 5.8ghz and looks decent Ordered it for £115 from Andertons and apparently you can replace the battery in the future Seems like reviews are finding it a good system
  2. Hey folks my question is for Trace Elliot users in particular the TE1200 regarding the Pre Shape feature Playing finger style I found it was getting lost in the band mix which was to be expected as it’s a smiley face EQ However with a pick it seems to suit it very well as the mids are reduced and bass boosted resulting in a nice tone Anyone else using it ? The dual compressor also benefits a pick player as you can add a small amount of low end compression but higher top end compression to soften the tone slightly
  3. Update after rehearsal at volume Pre Shape needs to be off if playing Fingerstyle as I feel it sucks too much mids out ( great for slap but less so for rock unless a pick player Compressor works really well
  4. I think Scott ( online bass tutor ) wears gloves so maybe that’s an option ? They are very thin and I believe it’s because of a medical condition
  5. My new TE1200 arrived yesterday and I quickly tried it and was reminded how great it sounds and easy to get good sounds out of it I’m liking the pre shape slightly scooped tone and adding a bit of low mids using the EQ sounds awesome Now I’m not sure if using the dual compressor is better Pre EQ or Post ? I think Pre sounds better and tames the low end boom nicely but curious what other uses have decided to use and why ?
  6. When I gigged in the 90’s I used a USA Stingray and Ampeg SVT CL amps. I thought it was perfect however on a visit to Ashdown HQ years back to try a few heads I used a house PBass and thought ong it’s awful why didn’t I bring my Ray ! After a spell of non playing and all my gear had been sold I got back into playing gigs in the 2015 onwards era and got a PBass and Ashdown ABM600 and I loved the sound. Then I got a Stingray virtually the same as my old one and didn’t like the sound at all, it was getting buried in the mix. I don’t know why a Ray worked for me in the 90’s as it was still rock against Marshall Valve amps but today I think the PBass is the perfect rock bass and just works and sounds very good. I tried a JBass but wanted it to sound like a PBass which it didn’t of course ! I have two basic PBass guitars for gigging both tuned Eb one is the Player II series and my backup is the 2025 Standard Indonesian built which is nice too. I don’t think I will play anything else now
  7. Have a look too in the for sale section on here 👍
  8. They were low cost cabs and average quality at best. I would look at Fender Rumble v3 cabs as a better product and low price If you can step up further then MarkBass MB58R series are very light and sound great
  9. I have two sounds Pick playing and no band and I like the tone and immediate attack of the notes, sadly when with the band I feel the thump and full depth is lacking and in some rock songs is so noticeable. Finger style I have my full sound which fills the band / room with bass you can feel and my challenge is maintaining clarity in the notes so I’m a high mids boosted kind of sound 1.5khz approx and 500hz approx slightly boosted too Pick playing of course I’m reducing the mids and high mids and trying to recover the full depth tone which is never really present. Either way I’m a typical PBass rock tone but cleaner sounding in the main as I just dislike overdriven bass tones
  10. None of those things would concern me so I will be happy using as my main gigging amp. The EQ, compressor ( dual ) and pre shape feature are the details I like about it. The massive head room too is a bonus
  11. Many good light amps that can sound as good or better than the SVT 3Pro Ashdown RM or ABM Trace Elliot Elf - TE1200 Orange Terror or LBT The list goes on but something that some of the above lack is a pre amp tube ( SVT 3 Pro has pre amp tubes ) so Ashdown ABM or Terror Bass may be a better choice today
  12. I had an Ampeg SVT 3Pro and found it to be a good amp and the power was there if you pushed it Replaced it with an SVT CL 300w and felt I had everything I needed but I was young and lifting it wasn’t an issue I used a 610 cab and this helped ! Again a heavy beast but lots of speakers and everyone could hear it !
  13. Great looking bass and as mentioned perhaps one or two high frets I would get a luthier to work on it if you want a flatter neck and don’t attempt it yourself unless you’ve done it before
  14. Very true but with so much power it’s easy to set it so it sounds clean. Would have been nice to have so maybe the mk2 will have one ?
  15. Sadly Chris Rea has just died Awesome singer and guitarist
  16. It’s interesting that the TE1200 never seemed to sell well and is hardly stocked anywhere. I wonder if it’s the 1200w rating that put folk off ? Ive used 800w heads that seem underpowered at times PF800 as example even the RM800 isn’t what I would describe as extremely loud. 500w to 800w heads you can hardly hear the difference so 1200w shouldn’t concern folk as it’s only twice as loud as a 120w amp !
  17. Loud and proud 😂🎸
  18. Mine should arrive just after Christmas!! Just need LFYS to start building a 212 cab 4ohm rated 1000w and I’m set !
  19. MarkBass LM IV 500w head plus mains lead As new condition 2025 model Not getting used so decided to move on and help fund other things U.K. shipping possible for an extra £10
  20. I was tempted to get an Elf to use as a spare amp assuming from memory they sound similar to each other ? I wish I hadn’t sold mine and although I don’t need 1200w what I do need is the remarkable sound they make. The extra watts are a bonus really
  21. I’ve recently ordered the TE1200 amp as I missed it after selling to Stevie at LFYS. How are other owners getting on with theirs ? I think the dual compressor and type of EQ points and pre shape make this an awesome gigging amp
  22. I’ve got the LM IV and had a TH 700 The TH is more tube like and vintage / warm sounding or can be with its drive. Takes a lot of tweaking to get just right. The LM IV is simpler and has different EQ points and totally clean although the old school control can darken it some. The LM IV is a loud amp and good head room and is in my opinion better and more flexible than the TH However I plan to sell mine as I need something with a bit of grunt and with a built in compressor. Although also a clean amp I’m waiting on the arrival of the TE1200 ( second time I’ve purchased one ) as it’s amazing in its tone and compressor. Not grind or snarl but great sounding
  23. Thanks Bill So vertically stacked is better in addition to speakers being nearer to ears but any other reasons ?
  24. I am aware of the situation of a single 410 cab and having the four speakers layout but what is the improvement if any of stacking two 210 cabs ( horizontally) where the two sets of speakers are further apart than in a single 410 box if that makes sense ? see image as example and in my case both tweeters would be off im aware that vertically stacking is better
