  1. Nice 👍
  2. At Peach Guitars Colchester who sell these you can choose online the serial number / weight / look It’s a far better system so at least visually you can see the top and also the weight of the basses for sale They are working differently to many stores and offer a great personal service especially if you book a visit to try out products etc
  3. I would also say it’s recorded in the studio using a pick although in the clip he’s playing fingerstyle The attack on the notes sounds very pick like
  4. Thanks to a fellow Basschatter I will be rejoining the Ashdown clan with a nice RM800 EVO III amp Decided this will be my main gigging amp
  5. There is a nice Ashdown RM500 EVO III that would make a great gigging amp and plenty of power One for sale on here ( not me )
  6. The Ashdown RM EVO III compressor is very nice and better than what they put in the ABM series No volume drop or tone suck
  7. Yes I agree Ashdown have a desperate need for some better lighter cabs. In fact on their website apart from the RM series all the ABM cabs are sold out suggesting a new series is coming ? A nice tall 212 4ohm cab rated to 600w or more and around 20kg would be a great addition
  8. Mint condition Orange LBT 500w amp with Orange carry bag and mains cable Superb sounding amp with lovely optical compressor making it feel very tube like. Loud 500w head Price includes UK shipping

  9. After trying it again with both my amps I’ve decided it’s going back for sure . It was a good pedal but added very little that a decent EQ pedal could provide me with what I’m trying to achieve
  10. Well I gave it a second try and actually I’m starting to like it It’s definitely an Ampeg sound and is getting close to my old V4B in tone so I’m keeping it
  11. Update SGT -DI arrived and 15mins later it was back in its box and a request to return to Andertons was made Now I know why I didn’t keep it, it’s a nice pedal but I still thought mostly the grit wasn’t to my liking and although it had good EQ control I thought for over £300 it wasn’t adding much. For that reason I will keep an amp spare as a backup instead
  12. I have a MarkBass MB58R 102 cab that is rear ported at rehearsals the hall is large often meaning my cab is several metres away from a back or side wall If the same cab was placed near a rear wall say 12” away would this increase the low bass tone IE make it sound deeper ?
  13. So it’s fair to say a 15” speaker cab won’t sound deeper if the low frequency is increased compared to say a 10” speaker assuming both can handle the low bass ? im aware they may sound the same flat but what if you say boosted mostly the 80hz upwards which normal driver would cope better ? IE why do we use 15” or 18” subs with PA surely it’s because they handle very low hz better and sound deeper ?
  14. When you see a cabinet frequency range stated does it mean the lower the stated HZ will sound deeper in tone ? As a pick player using 10’s I often wonder if using 15’s would add more low end or can handle lower HZ more efficiently? I tried an older MarkBass 15” cab and didn’t like it as it was so dark sounding
  15. Reassuring this thread as I’ve now ordered for the second time the SGT-DI pedal ! I sold mine as I was gigging the Ampeg V4B and didn’t need it however all my heavy Ampeg gear has gone and I’m playing light class D heads and MarkBass cabs I needed an Ampeg tone in a box. I will run this into the front of the Orange Little Bass Thing which is a pretty clean amp with decent compressor. The SGT will give me better EQ range for pick playing a PBass and a bit of grit for the rockier songs. Plus it’s a DI so will act as a backup to my amp in case of amp issues during a gig. Nearly went for the Venture V7 amp but it’s twice the price of the SGT and I didn’t need a new amp just improved tone and EQ / Grit
  16. Selling my MarkBass Little Mark IV 500w bass head as it isn’t getting played Purchased new in 2025 and mint condition with original box and mains lead can include shipping in UK for an extra £10
  17. Five colours in her hair Mcfly Does Your Mother Know ABBA
  18. My error it’s actually this Faital Pro 12”
  19. I’m now a MB user having played Ashdown, Ampeg, TE, GK, Orange ( you get the picture ) !! Firstly it’s the cabs I like as I use two MB58R 102. Cabs stacked in my band ( rock / pop ) The amp is the MB LM IV which I chose over the MB58R head as it has a metal case like the previous models. For me the instant difference is the EQ frequency choice as it’s not focused at the very low 40hz like some but more 60hz upwards. It never sounds wooly or lost in a mix and clarity and clean is its forte, It hasn’t got grind or grit but I prefer a good clean sounding tone even for rock as I hear it better in the mix and it has that formidable MB punch ! Low weight and sensible pricing also makes them a great package They stack equally well vertical up format ( amazing to hear as top speakers are closer to ears ) or in the traditional 410 style as below if more stability is required etc
  20. I had two Ashdown ABM 210 cabs stacked so effectively your 4x10 cab. They never had clarity and were not the greatest cabs due to their low budget drivers used. As soon as I changed cabs the difference was noticeable and I found better more efficient cabs that made it easier to hear and got louder LFYS Monaco was one of those cabs and a single 12” Faital Pro speaker equipped was very loud and clear. Today I use two MarkBass MB58R 102 cabs stacked vertically and they are a joy to use and carry and sound very good
  21. For my band and previous band where we were a trio of musicians playing rock I made sure my bass sound was Full and loud so when guitarist soloed it sounded full as a band I play with a pick on a PBass and don’t need fx etc and learn to palm mute for quieter parts and let rip for loud parts. A good amp and decent cabs are all you need in my opinion and play like a bass / rhythm guitarist !
  22. I found the Ampeg Optocomp very good as a pick player but less so fingerstyle. The pedal added a bit of depth when using a pick I’ve noticed that true with some compressors on amps such as the Orange LBT also optical
  23. Ashdown are used professionally which to me says a lot about the brand and support. Orange is the same and Ampeg and I suspect others to some degree I know endorsement deals play a part but Ashdown offer awesome service and you don’t have to be the original owner either
  24. I had the 750 and 752 both great amps
  25. I’m back using Ultex Triangles 1.0mm I love the brightness they achieve which can be toned down when required but allowed to clank out for rocky / punky songs Green Day etc etc
