I got my premade Bartolini harness from www.bestbassgear.com as they were the cheapest at the time. Not in the UK/EU but cheap and quick delivery

Steinberger headless stick thingy? I'm taking advantage of being young and still having heavy amps and basses but when I get older I fully intend to get myself the lightest combo available - we'll probably be onto the Genz Shuttle 96.0 by then which will weigh the same as a packet of cigarettes and put out 10 squillion watts. I will also get one of the aforementioned stick thingies

or make it yourself? That's what I'm planning to do - it is just wood, carpet or paint and velcro. That way you have one made exactly how you want it

These kind of rants rarely go anywhere as its down to personal preference. personally, I find Wooten , Marcus Miller etc boring. They may have the finest chops but I can't stand listening to any one of them for more than a couple of minutes without switching off. I enjoy listening to talented bass players but only if they are playing a decent tune. same reason i can't listen to Jaco or Manring - it doesn't mean anything to me - doesn't mean that someone else isn't going to get enjoyment from it but I just can;t relate to it. I like Silly Putty by Stanley Clarke cos its a good tune and hymn of the seventh galaxy by Return to Forever cos its a good tune. Personally, I am a fan of Flea and his playing but I like the chili's music as well. I could take offence at your post but it seems to me that I enjoy one thing that you don't and you enjoy something that I don't. I don;t see a problem with that but clearly you do. I could equally have started a thread about how I don;t get why so many people like Jaco, because personally I think he's $h!te but others get enjoyment from his music. When you say how people hold Flea in high regard against Wooten - its not a contest - there is no world's greatest bass player just like there is no world's greatest sandwich - its down to personal tastes. If you don;t like someone then avoid them and references to them instead of getting annoyed. We're all here to learn from one another and hopefully become better, more knowledgable players as well as have a laugh. One man's Pamela anderson is another man's Hattie Jaques etc

Trace Elliot V-Type 4x8 Combo..SOLD SOLD SOLD
Delberthot replied to overwater#1's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Just done a very rough estimate on the combo being 70x80x60 and 50kg cos I can't find the exact measurements - comes in at £20.37 including vat for next day delivery. as long as they can move it they'll deliver it - the one that delivered mine had a truck with a taillift and a trolley to wheel it to my door. I'm sure that the Shuttle's have rubys in them - meant to be the best balance of sound quality and reliability -
Does anyone know this bass and Do some basses slap better than others?
Delberthot replied to Amazoman's topic in Bass Guitars
My MIJ Precision slaps very well - incidentally, Flea used a Precision in the early days of Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem - better known as The Red Hot Chili peppers. -

Trace Elliot V-Type 4x8 Combo..SOLD SOLD SOLD
Delberthot replied to overwater#1's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
It was packed very well with that really thick bubble wrap with the huge bubbles and thick cardboard. Courier was glad to get rid of it cos it was so heavy compared to his usual deliveries of point of sale for shops etc. I can't remember which courier company delivered it. For anyone who doesn't know, I bought a 1x15" V-type combo from Tinman and before that it was Merton's (Nash's before that) If this is half as good as what I have, then its still going to be the dogs sloblock. If I didn't have the 1x15" I would've bought this by now. In fact, if I didn't have the 2103H to go with the 1x15" combo I would be buying it and running the two combos together. This is exactly what I imagine a valve amp should sound like without the expense of having the expense of changing power tubes. It has a nice amount of grit and overdrive if you want to push the valves a bit but can very warm and full sounding if you back off a bit. Its really easy to get into the amp if you want to change the preamp tubes - 4 screws on the top and it just slides out. Discovered mine has Marshall branded ones inside it! -
I hvve a Korg BT-10 which is really good unfortunately, most of the times with tuners when you pay peanuts you get monkeys

I'll find out in a couple of weeks when I play my first pub gig with the Trace V-Type 1x15" and 2103H cab The amp is 'only' 250w - my previous setup was a Genz Shuttle 6.0 (600w) & Schroeder 1212L (800w) I'm actually looking forward to this as my amps have been getting progressively lighter and more powerful over the years - It'll be good to go back to something heavy with less power and more grunt

I made a bolt-on rick copy into a 5ver by drilling an extra hole on the head, new nut, Kahler bridge & soapbar pickup. a bit like what Jeff Rath does over on rickresource with real ones. The string spacing was ace but not if you're into slapping

My 1212L never let me down regardless of the size of pub - all done wthout pa support and a guitarist with a 120w Peavey 5150. not once did it distort or even come close to being pushed in the 2 years I owned it.
I love those trace pre amps. i miss my combo.
I'm giving it its first gig in my uncapable hands this weekend. Its easy to slip out the combo if anyone wants pics, I did it when i bought it to see if it needed a a clean but was spotless inside.

How many strings on a standard bass guitar?
Delberthot replied to JimBobTTD's topic in General Discussion
Why do you think I refer to it as Talkbs? What, you think that's been a spelling mistake all these times? -

TRACE ELLIOT V-TYPE V4 2x10 Combo
Delberthot replied to harvey1-8's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I can't believe the price this is up to already. -
And last of all my home built fretless. Vox standard bass body, weighs a flippin tonne, 'routed' for a pup with a hammer and chisel. no name neck I ripped the frets out of and coated with ronseal diamond hard varnish. MM style pup, 'screwjack' bridge... It plays, its not awful, its not great. Body is too heavy and will get replaced eventually, as will the neck....
You mean that you're going to get rid of it? It sounds like the old classic: "I've had the same broom for 20 years and in that time its only had 3 shafts and 4 heads"

Check out completed listings on ebay to see how much stuff is going for. I got a 1153H in a custom flight case for £100. Round about the same for the 1153. I would say roughly £400-450 for the whole rig.
