1. that sounds really good. Look forward to your full demo. One request, shoes on for the full demo. White socks kill the vibe.

Myrtle Pedals?

i own an All Seeing Ei. Like it a lot but it's a wild beast not easily tamed. Was interested in the Brassmaster clip. Do appreciate the art of the bespoke pedal maker. Would like to see more discussion of the various small time manufacturers so if they produce something really cool that we could use the power of BC to give them a boost at this difficult economic time.

Myrtle Pedals?

Hi guys, who knows about these guys - Hugh - outta Liverpool? http://myrtlepedals.blogspot.com/ I like these two http://soundcloud.co...le-pedals/brass http://soundcloud.co...-pedals/bass-ei what says Basschat???
5. i love the look of the TTE500. I assume I would love the sound even more.
6.
I definitely remember seeing him playing a relic Sandberg on some of his vids, I guess that's his favourite.
yes he has used a Sandberg relic as well as the pink one - his "main" basses for me are his early 60's Jazz and the Marcus Miller 4 Jazz. Obviously he's had loads more including his Rick, F bass, etc. Def though a Jazz man in my head at least. Also is this a genuine signature model (available to punters to buy) or a custom build, which we can ask for if we go custom but not otherwise available?
7.
Good on him I suppose, and yes I think he has turned a lot of people onto bass playing. Also shows how much times have changed. This is a guy with no affiliation to any well known band, just a Youtube sensation.
agree with that. Just seems to love the bass and dedicates his life to communicating that love. That'll do for me. Good guy. Also quite like the Sandberg relics.
8. that looks great. have tried glock gear a couple of times and loved it. what cab(s) will you be using it with?
9. result indeed!! nice find.
10.

i love the look of that a lot.
11. wasn't really blown away by that sound. Nice though.
12. good advice so far, also I would say it's critical to not use a gate to remove otherwise removeable hiss. So again knowing what kind of hiss, hum, etc., you are talking about. I got some excellent advice recently from Shep (Pantherairsoft) on here about the obsessive way he cleans up his signal chain (better cabling, power supplies etc) which I find has helped me approach gating in a more relaxed way. Again, really sorry if you are well up on all this and I am stating the bleeding obvious!

Best Octaver?

if you can pick up a decent condition OC2 for £50 on eBay then dont think twice. There are usually lots up for auction and some go for up to £75. After that I liked my MXR Bass Octave Deluxe, which I picked up on eBay for £70. You can then head up the scale with various features including octave up/down, mix but sky's the limit. OC2's the classic.
14. that's awesome. Lovin the chicken wire.

WITHDRAWN

+10000 on the trying any pedal out thing. If a guitar pedal works then fine but if it doesn't it can really fcuk up your sound. The most obvious thing is not being able to handle and even sucking out low frequencies, which pretty much kills if you are a bassist. Clean blend or mix is particularly valued either within the pedal or parallel looping it. Anyway most pedals have been tried somewhere in the world on about every instrument and posted about on't interweb so that can assist in not making a complete erse of it. With the marketplace on here you can pretty much satisfy all your desires and get bass specific pedals, even better if you live close enough to try.
16. Sorry to hear you are having to move on. Brilliant set up. Best of luck.
17. got the link wrong in the first post. This is my current front runner USB2 interface http://www.thomann.de/gb/esi_esu_1808.htm Liking the look of the Saffire Pro40 but having to sort Firewire is an issue budget wise.
18.
I'd recommend the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. That's what I use.
thanks. I dont have firewire but could sort that. Classic GAS moment as I am now looking at a new laptop and a £400 audio interface. I started off looking at spending £150.
19. Hi, need a decent multi I/O audio interface. Boiled it down through reviews etc to the following two: http://http://www.thomann.de/gb/esi_esu_1808.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/maudio_fast_track_ultra.htm anyone actually own and use either of these? Particular value for me is in live use with multiple outs for mix etc. This suggests rackmount but the MAudio does look good too.
20. what a generous and constructive response! This bass is not my thing but i think a Dingwall P is likely to be more interesting than a lot of the rest of the P-clones out there, for some of the reasons given. Let the market decide.
21.
Sorry to say, but they dont do the job in the least. These grip master gadgets, while they may have their uses elsewhere, for playing bass, they are a waste of time and money IMO. Why ? Because they develop the hand to do the opposite of what is required to fret a string. Minimal strength is required to fret a string. This strength is in all healthy people from an early age. Dexterity and stamina is what is needed. To do this, the tendons that open the hand, i.e. lift them from one note to the next, without them getting in one an other's way, is what needs to be worked on. By gripping, you are developing muscles or tendons that are not required.
i have always wondered about this - in the same way too much muscle definition can hinder not aid in certain sports where flexibility and agility are important, I have always been taught lightness of touch etc., when playing piano, fretting a bass, and thought that working too much with some of these exercises could be counter-productive. That's not to say there aren't better non-musical exercises, so not really agreeing with Hubbard, just wondering whether people need to be a bit clearer what they are trying to do.
22. wow - that's an expensive board right there. Bet it sounds great though. nice one.
23. nice - I like how so many are gravitating toward a dubstep set up. Shows that we all love an instrument that remains relevant and evolving. I have a wired hot hand not a wireless, that will be next.
24. that is an immense pedal right there. I've got the big brother so probably not going to bite but I wouldn't worry you'll have this sold tonight or tomorrow. It's the king of bass choruses.
25. I am a compact and midget t man and am absolutely happy with that set up with a Tecamp Puma 500. The modular approach is great with both together being near perfect. So buy with confidence and good luck tomorrow.
