Just picked up a Little Marcus 800 from Sandy at GBBL, and I have to say the EQ is a revelation! It's quite different to the original Little Mark EQ: EQ1 ULTRALOW at 65Hz, instead of the LM's LOW at 40Hz LOW at 180Hz, instead of LOW MID at 360Hz MID at 500 Hz HIGH MID at 1.4 KHz, instead of HIGH MID at 800Hz HIGH at 3.8 KHz, instead of HIGH at 10kHz EQ2 OLD SCHOOL: Variable LOW PASS from 20KHz to 200Hz, slightly deeper than the 250Hz base on the VLE MILLERIZER: 5-12 KHz BAND PASS Filter (essentially a treble boost only), which is very different to the VPF "mid scoop" You can footswitch between no EQ/EQ1/EQ2/both EQ, which gives at least four shades of tone straight off the bat: really nice to use the EQ1 on its own and then switch in the Millerizer on EQ2 for a little top end sheen. I think the EQ is much more usable as it closes that big gap between High Mid and High on the LM, and it sounds really full and meaty. I like it a lot.

I have two of these delicious Harvest Leather straps in absolutely tip top condition. They've had light use and straplocks fitted. Both straps are 8.5cm wide and are lightly padded. "Deer Grain Nappa": This strap is 107-122cm length. "Cow Antique": This strap is 104-119cm. The straps cost me £40 each plus postage from Germany. I would like £50 the pair posted, or £27.50 posted each.

Lots of people like rigs with matching driver sizes, while others swear it makes no difference. Only your ears can decide which you prefer. That said, I'd imagine the 410HF would be a very good match for the 210, and as Lozz says it's pretty unlikely you'll damage the 210.

Advice please: Spector Spectorcore or Legend Classic Fretless
franzbassist replied to anzoid's topic in Bass Guitars
I'm sure the Legend is a good bass, but the semi-hollow body, pickup placement, and piezo in the bridge are just perfect for smooth fretless mwah. That said, if you like burpy bridge pickup fretless tones then the Legend might be a better choice. I'm primarily a fretless player and I'd go Spectorcore every time over the Legend. -

As long as the pickup isn't getting crushed that looks like a nice snug fit to me.

Personally, I would want the innards covered! Why not fashion something out of thin aluminium or wood, which should be easy enough to do. Another option is to put in in the Markbass Little Mark bag: it's designed to be used with the amp left in the bag.

Without wishing to state the obvious, lofts are only cold in the winter. In the summer they can get very hot. I have kept my cabs in the garage in all seasons for decades and never had an issue. They are off the ground and wearing padded covers though.

Music to my ears

This is just what I wanted to hear, as although my band isn't that loud (two acoustic guitarists and an electronic drum kit) I want to keep the valve tone clean.

No demo yet, but I do need to do one as I have two Franz basses (I have a fretted 5 too). My bass is a standard Sirius with upgraded maple top, whereas the RG model has a Rheingold pickup and no volume control. All Franz basses are chambered and use thermo treated woods, so they are really light and very resonant. My fretless is 8.25lbs, so nice and light. It really sings, has no dead spots on it at all, and is just a joy to play.

Mert, please let us know what you think of it. Especially curious to know what the "feedback" knob does?

It's always been unlined for me. Lines on the board are more confusing to my eyes, but I totally get that they work for others!
