  1. The Markbass Traveller 123 cab is superb. It has power handling in spades, and the combination of 12" and 5" drivers plus a high quality tweeter means it's very articulate. It's compact too, albeit quite weighty.
  2. Projected RRP of £450 too. Could be very popular.
  3. Hopefully my combo or amp will sell and I can pick up one of these instead
  4. New trend?
  5. I agree.
  6. I like the look of the 1x10 combo too. Are there any pictures of the amp section yet? Pop that on top of my TRV123 and I'd be very happy.
  7. I play Franz basses, a Sirius DC 5 fretted and Sirius fretless 5, and also gig a Thomann (by Hora) slimline upright. As I double fretless and upright at virtually every gig I run them into a Bassbone OD, which then goes into my rig which is the fabulous Markbass CMD Super Combo K1, to which I add the matching Markbass TRV123 cab too when I want the full 1000 watts. I also have a Blackline 250 for backup. OBBM cables, Harvest straps, La Bella and Newtone strings, Mono bags complete the setup. This picture shows a pedalboard from last summer, but that's all been replaced by the simpler yet more versatile Bassbone.
  8. I am SO using this in future
  9. A cancelled meeting afforded me the chance to try out the new Ibanez semi-hollow basses.  Very nice, and great setup on the fretless.

I've just bought my first Ibanez having tried out a tribute kit build loosely based on the SR605 but with a simple passive 2HB configuration.  I liked the form and the neck.  It didn't take me long to realise that I wanted the real thing because the kit showed me some of the things I wanted in a bass that I hadn't been able to decide upon before.

Given the spare cash, would you have one now that you've tried the semi-acoustic?

Quite possibly, yes.  Probably the 4 string fretted, or the Artcore short scale, which was also fab.

It is encouraging to hear that from the owner of a Wal.

  10. I have been looking for Mo Mark stuff for ages, as I fancy building something just for me. Really hard to find anything now, especially the power frames.
  11. I’d say yes, not Thomastik lowness, but certainly lower than most rw sets I’ve used.
  12. La Bella nylon flats are low tension, even the .60 set. Much lower than Chromes. The golds are similar in tone to the White Nylons (same outer, core is brass with the golds and steel with the whites), so they are the brightest of the nylon flats they make. I love them on fretted and fretless basses. Use nothing else.
  13. Picked up a lovely little Trace Acoustic TA30 yesterday.  Absolutely mint condition and perfect for domestic noodling :)

  14. Basses live in Mono Vertigo bags without the Tick add-on. I can keep charts, cables and tuners in the sleeve pocket. For gig bags I have two, both picked up very cheap in a Mono close out sale from their former UK distributor. Gig bag #1, which goes to all rehearsals and gigs, is actually a Mono Drum Pedal bag. Perfect for two straps, tuner and patch lead, ear plugs, tool kit, two power leads and two speakons. Gig bag #2 is a Mono Club, which is actually designed for pedalboards but is perfect for bigger gigs as I add into that all my other spare leads, two Hercules stands, two Markbass Mark Stands, and various other sundries. I like Mono
  15. Markbass LMK - discontinued. Tecamp Bonafide - discontinued. Another option is dual input, footswitchable unit, and are my preferred solution for the situation you describe. I used to use a Providence Dual Bass Station, but have recently swapped to a Radial Bassbone OD. I loved the clean headroom of the Providence, but the Bassbone is more versatile, especially as it can have one channel made very DB friendly with a switchable ultra hi impedance input for piezo pickup, and HPF on both channels. http://www.tonebone.com/pdfs/smartsheet-BassboneOD.pdf
  16. Of course, I'll bring it over to yours.
  17. I was just thinking the same. I wonder if the 362mm width is just the case of the amp (i.e. without rack ears and hard case)?
  18. I sold a gig bag to Alan. A small, simple transaction, but he was a pleasure to deal. Thanks Alan
  19. So, should we work out who wants one and ask for a limited Basschat run at a discount?
  20. Fantastic. I suggested to Leszek a while back that putting it into a compact case was the way to go, and he has! Looking forward to hearing the full spec on this.
  21. I sold a set of strings to Adam. Smooth, simple sale and he was a pleasure to deal with.
