1. That looks amazing. Wish I was better at woodwork, I'd be able to cure my EUB GAS all by myself!
 2. Thanks, I'm using the programmable DI so I assume the XLR out is designed for running into a PA while the 1/4 output can drive a regular amp front end. I'm not very in the know about power amps but I assume Matamp, Peavey and Mackie would be good choices.
 3. Welcome Dave! As I understand it, if you run your amp at 4 ohms into an 8 ohm cab it will drop the power output to around 300 watts. If you're careful on the volume knob you shouldn't blow anything up. The better option would be to get a higher rated cab as you should ideally match head and cab ohmages. My working knowledge of cabs is pretty poor, I'm sure someone on here will give you some good recommendations.
 4. I've been considering this for a while. Now I've discovered how great my Sansamp DI sounds I'm tempted to get a reasonable 3-500w power amp and using it for gigs where there will be a cab. Purchasing my own cab is further down the line. Is this possible? Any recommendations as to power amp makes if so?
 5.
Why not put it into the effects return jack socket and all you are using the amp is for the power side only and the SA is doing all the tone shaping. That`s what I do and it`s the biz. Jez
I don't think it has an effects return but there is a 'Power amp in' input which I assume will do the same job. I'll give it a whirl!
 6.
Amazing amps these! shame its not one of the pow ones or i'd have this off you no questions asked.
You spoke to Adam from Flatlands? I don't know is his is still knocking around. Needs a little TLC (the amp, not Adam).
 7.
It was like selling a Ferrari and buying a Vauxhall Corsa.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-11156782 You know, just saying.
 8. Had my first proper practice tonight with the Sansamp and wow, through my practice amp, a Peavey TKO (or is it a TNT?) it sounded amazing. I wasn't even driving the amp hard but the sound filled the room. Just put the EQ on as flat as possible and used the amps volume controls. I totally underestimated the difference it would make. If you can try one out, you'll want one!
 9.
I think the stock bridge is pretty sound but I am putting a Schaller 3D on! I have some mad ideas for this, thinking about putting a 3 band MEC EQ in and then either Duncans or Bartolinis. Also a huge part of me wants to sand off the finish and oil it but I am not sure I am brave enough, the flame maple is only a thin veneer (5mm I believe) and I wouldnt want to get over zealous and wreck it!
I meant nut, not bridge. I am an idiot.
 10. You going to replace the placcy bridge?
 11. Not gear but we saw a very small band on a self financed tour walking around their hometown branch of Primark, mid-tour, sporting homemade tour laminates. That was 2 years ago and it still makes us laugh. I also got laughed at in Coventry for playing a very old school looking Matamp by some screamo kids with Marshall Valvestate heads. I won.
 12.
Wasn't Kylies famous gold hotpants from a charity shop??
And now they're worth millions. Nothing wrong with rocking the vintage look, I picked up a tweed jacket for £15 that looks the busniess and own various hideous 70's shirts for playing live in.
 13.
I dont know if that's the best band name ever or the worst band name ever
I can answer that question: best
 14.
I have a DI box for precisely this reason but it would have been simpler to have it all wrapped into one, space-saving pedal
Yeah, bit of an oversight on Sansamps part really. Shame you can't get it without shelling out for the Deluxe version.
 15. Flatlands are plying their post-rocky/doomy wares in Scotland on the following dates:- Friday September 10th - Dundee Club Kage Flatlands + Kaddish + Sunset Squad + Dross Not heard the last 2 bands but Kaddish are incredible, proper screamo without the haircuts and bad attitudes. We're also playing someone's house in Glasgow on the Saturday, not sure of the details or if I'm technically allowed to invite internet people along. More details to follow. Maybe. www.myspace.com/flatlandstouristboard Oh, I may be playing g****r instead of bass.....
 16. That thing is tiny. Get 2 and wear them like headphones!
 17.
"Ask not what your sansamp can do for you - ask what you can do for your sansamp" Sorry, couldn't help myself Damn useful piece of kit, though, a sansamp. Just wish my VT Bass pedal had the new XLR out ...
Presumably it outputs the same level as amp inputs, could you not stick a simple DI box in front of it? Another box to carry around but most small venues have them for bass anyway.
 18.
I had an ASAT in the early 90's,damn thing nearly gave me a hernia,,,heavy as a really heavy thing, sure it was made of concrete, very powerful pick ups and a pretty fast neck, but did I mention it was heavy?
I went to the Matamp factory last year and there was a guitar body on one of the benches. I picked it up and nearly put my back out, turns out it was made of solid granite! A guitarist who makes kitchen worktops thought it would be a good idea as it resonates similarly to aluminium but playing it would make you about 3" shorter after every gig. Don't know it he ever finished it or not.
 19.
If she looks like a tranny, I've got problems.
I'm with you. Maybe we should start a support group?
 20.
I hear that the Vt bass is a lot better and less scooped sounding than the bass driver, but it doesn't have an xlr out so it isn't a DI box. I've not tried it yet so can't comment, but from what I've heard it is better than the bass driver at nailing the classic Ampeg grit.
There appears to be a new VT out, the VT Bass Deluxe in the same enclosure and with the features of the BDDI Deluxe including an XLR out. Looks pretty sweet! Drool
 21. If you're based in Sheffield you're welcome to have a tinker on mine. That goes for any other BCers too, as long as you don't steal it.
 22. JJs are the Matamp valve of choice, they're in my GT1 head and I can recommend them, although my knowledge of tubes isn't vast. NOS Mullard if you can get your hands on one?
 23.
Just one question, do i need to splash out on the four switch deluxe driver or can i save some cash getting another model and not wasting my money on something which has a bunch of stuff i wouldnt use?
Depends what you want really! The deluxe has an extra 3 presets available, a swtchable FX loop, 2 inputs and a parallell out. If you reckon you'll use them then go for it, if not then don't. I don't need any of the extra stuff personally but I saw the unit for £120 so I bought it. I've not had chance to road test it but it will be nice to gig it and know the kind of sound it'll be putting out front of house and that it's going through some decent kit.
 24. That's one sweet looking EUB. Good luck with the sale!
