1.
You could use a pair of blade type humbuckers,im assuming that the pickups are les paul guitar sized ones.
I could photograph them if that would help?
2.
Hi, yes this is still here. Sorry for being useless with the pics, am busy packing up my house to move and the case has stuff blocking it. I'll get some up later today
Cheers
3. Despite this absolutely wonderful chap refusing to let me be called Dave also (hilarious bit of confusion in the back and forward of emails), this has been one of the most swift and pleasant transactions I've ever undertaken online. Cable arrived today, scrape of dawn after a turnaround time that I can't even fathom it was that fast! The quality of the cable, far outweighs anything I've ever bought over the counter and the price is beyond competitive! I honestly can't sing your praises enough, I will be buying from you from now on sir, and I hope everyone else on here does to because you are a resource that should not be overlooked! A pleasure Dave aka "Dean"
4. Okay, First things first, Hello! Glad we got that out of the way, now on to more pressing matters, basically, once in a while when I'm feeling a little flush, I purchase things I don't want or need, just for the hell of it, a while back, I purchased an Eastwood Airline Bass, why? well, honestly.. because it was one of the most disgustingly quirky things I'd ever seen, I HAD to have that monstrosity! However, of late I've actually started playing it a bit at home, and whilst it doesn't match up to my old battered Gibson EB3, or my trashed Precision, it does actually play rather nicely, I did take a fair bit of time setting it up right, but for home use, it feels quite comfortable to play, the issue being, the standard Alnico pickups on it, seem to be VERY quiet, when I run it through my recording interface it barely even picks the bloody thing up! So, the actual, actual point of this post, I want them out, deported, sent to gather dust under the stairs with the rest of my daughters.. Er, I mean, impulse buys! What I need help with however, is what pickups I should replace them with? I don't mind spending a bit of cash, especially if it makes this hideous little bass something I can wince at on an actual stage! But where shall I start? I don't want to hack the body up to make room for any pickups which won't fit into the existing bays, so give me a list of what pickups you think I should use, and why? I'd like something quite full but raw sounding if that helps at all? I honestly no nothing about the inner workings of these things, I just buy on face value and figure out my mistakes later! I look forward to hearing from someone, everyone! Cheers David Kennedy
5. Crap, has this actually gone now? Would have loved to have gotten my hands on it!
6. Haha quite alright, cheers for the feedback, I guess I'll just keep it down, the neighbours will appreciate it anyways and if I do need to crank it, I'll just drop it onto the 810 in the practice room and have a dolphin of a time! Er.. whale
7. Cheers for getting back to me guys, The amp is apparently outputting 500w regardless of whether you're running it at 8ohms or 4ohms, which baffles me a little I must say! but according to Orange, thats the way the Terror works! I know I could run both, but if I'm carting both the 115 and the 210 around, i might aswell just be bringing the 810, so the downsizing isn't really being met! To be fair, considering I'll only be using the orange for home use, and the bigger 810 rig I have for gigs, I'll never need to crank it anyway, so it should be fine, it would just be nice to have the headroom, perhaps I'll look into another, higher rated 210 for now
8.
Got a big heavy duty flight case when I bought a speaker cabinet on here years ago and I've never used it, it's just been sitting in a corner of my house doing nothing. Am moving house soon so I want to get rid of it, it's this sort of thing but silver rather than black (i'll get a proper pic up soon): It weighs a ton! The cabinet it used to contain was an Eden 115, which has these dimensions, you probably have an inch or so give due to the foam padding on the inside: 23”w x 25.5”h x 18.5”d Collection from Liverpool for anyone who wants it
Hey there! I don't suppose this is still up for grabs at all? I'm in Liverpool myself so collection would be no bother at all! Let me know asap Cheers Dave Kennedy
9. Hey folks, I'm new here so don't be too hard on me, I had a look through the forum and seen the Orange/Trace post but didn't clarify much for me. Basically, I've just bought an Orange Bass Terror 500 head to use for practices/home use etc, but while I have an 8x10 thats perfect for it, from time to time it's a pain in the behind to move unless we're off out on tour etc. So I'm planning on using either an Ashdown MAG 115 or 210 cabinet, the issue being, these are rated at 250w @ 8ohms, whilst the head is 500w at either 8 or 4ohms... Will I actually be okay to use the head with these in the meantime? I'll get myself a little Orange isobaric cab at some point, but the money could be better spent on other things at the moment so may aswell use what I have, if I can... What do you reckon? I'll cross my fingers now and look forward to a reply! Cheers, and nice to meet you all, Dave Kennedy
