Any progress? I can't wait to see this finished.

They sound awesome from the youtube clips I've seen, I have the standard BDDI deluxe and use the preset function a lot although I agree with the mid loss probblem. The VT would be my next step if they were cheaper. Sansamp stuff generally has a good rep, try one out and let us know what you think!
Didn't Sansamp do a Fender "flavour" pedal in their Character series?
I think so, Boss also do a Bassman stomp box.
Phew, that's a relief, after reading all the posts, it would appear that there's only me, and Bryan Adams doing Summer of 69.
I've got to do it for a wedding. I hate most of the songs on the setlist.

I love mine but the loss of mids is starting to bug me a little. I'm thinking I should have held out for a Tone Hammer. And yeah, I hear a little bit of compression but it's not too pronounced.

Squier Vintage/Modified Jaguar Is Here
GarethFlatlands replied to Circle_of_Fifths's topic in Bass Guitars
Is it 34"? Looks short in comparisson to the jazzes.
Coule be, the Jag guitar is shorter scale than other Fenders. -
It's always tough when an instrument you've had for years starts to show its flaws. Why not just try as many basses as possible, find one you like and see if you can swap it for something similar? It would save having 2 different kinds of the same bass.

There's videos on youtube of de-fretting a neck, you should use veneers in place of the frets which is where it gets difficult. Or it does if you're rubbish at woodwork like I am. I emailed Jon Shuker about getting the frets taken off my old Vintage 5 string and he quoted around £70 which seemed reasonable. Might be worth checking out with your local bass tech unless you're good at DIY, otherwise you may end up with not bass.

Epiphone EB-0 Limited Ed. Pelham Blue
Funny how the colour turns it from an uninspiring plank into an object of desire.
I really liked the one I tried, (black), not exactly a vast array of tones but a nice dirty, woolly sound if you like that sort of thing. Cheap too! -
Is it just me who reads this word and gets an unfortunate vision of greasy, bespectacled, long-haired, black t-shirt boys intently engaged in a long game of warhammer?
Oi, that was me in my early teens (apart from the glasses). And I was always more of a 40k man.

Love the time onstage, hate everything else about gigging, especially in the last 6 months or so. The only gigs I've really enjoyed recently have been Scotland (6 hours drive) and The Netherlands and Germany (even more). Sad really. Maybe it's time to bite the bullet and just play well paid gigs as a covers band....

2 speakers taken from a Line 6 2 by 12. Well used but in good condition. Pay for the postage and they're yours. Edit:- they're for guitar, not bass. I should have mentioned that earlier.

Love mine, especially modded to use the old LM308 chip as per the original Rats. I think Caleb Schofield (Cave In, Old Man Gloom) uses one on his board for bass along with a Fulltone Fulldrive.
Wow, I used to play violin. Can you post some pictures? And what size are these?
Google says full size. Pics when I find the camera to computer cable in my tip of a room... Edit - Spoke too soon, found it.

I always use the following pattern as a warm-up, one finger per fret on the l/h, one finger per note on the right:- a|----------1-2--1-2-3| e|1-2-3-4------4------| Start off slow and clean and build up speed and move it up/down the fretboard and across the neck. Helps synchronise your left and right hands too. Try playing it backwards too!

I've recently bought a nice Streamer Pro-M off here and my bank account is looking a little bit sad. Add that to my cars MOT coming up, I'm looking at selling off some stuff, including my Rockbass Corvette. It's black and active (bass, treble, pickup blend and volume controls), condition is pretty good apart from a couple of very minor dings and the usual belt rash on the back (odd as I don't wear belts). The output jack is also a little crackly but I'm thinking I can fix that with some contact cleaner. Collection preferred as it doesn't have a case and I hate post-office queues with a passion. I'm thinking around the £200 mark, pics to follow if anyone's interested.

Odd time signatures and odd timing
GarethFlatlands replied to Sub_Drop's topic in Theory and Technique
No, you should be counting once for every four note grouping. With the triplets, you should be counting once for every three note grouping, but you are tapping the same pattern. Hang in there! Peace Joe
Aargh, it's suprisingly difficult, even on the 16th notes! It feels like it's doing my rythm skills some good so I'll keep at it. -
Hi Gareth Are you able to tap and count the beats with the paradiddle pattern at 16th notes? Peace Joe
Yeah, counting at each hit. Or should i be counting once per 4 hits? -
This time you will tap the same paradiddle pattern, except instead of playing them in 16th note you will play them in 8th note triplets.
So where do the counts go in relation to the taps? Sorry, my knowledge of timing is notoriously flaky. -
Swap it for the one on Stus amp when he isn't looking.
