1.
Hi everyone. I got the Behringer Ultra Bass Chorus Pedal. I cant seem to get a chorus effect out of it. It changes the sound a bit, but it is not what I would call a chorus. I'm comparing it to the sound samples on youtube of a boss ceb3. I've never had a pedal before, so I'm not hugely experienced in this new world, but I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or if it is crap, or I got a bad one? I will play around with it a bit more, but to be fair if I cant get the sound I expected, then I will be returning it and just get the boss. (I have a unexpected raise in my budget). So far I am not impressed. I will report back.
Any chance of a vid or sound clips? You might have got a duff one. From personal and friends experience, I wouldn't buy anyhting from Behringer apart from mixing desk and rack stuff. It rarely seems to work properly.
 2.
Has anyone tried a Minimat out on bass? I kind of really want one. Not sure what I'd use it for, but I'd still love one!
I reckon with some pre-amp EQ you'd get some nice filthy top end for recording.
 3.
compressors serve a wide range of useful functions -- hence why i use one -- and don't cover up bad technique nearly as much as a distortion or delay can. why do you think guitarists use distortion and delay so much?
As someone who's primarily a guitarist, I'm offended. You forgot reverb!
 4. Yeah, or black burst maybe?
 5. I know I keep saying but that is a stunning bass. If I had any money I'd be asking about building one for me, I've wanted an EUB for ages now.
 6. I actually prefer the new shape! Good work.
 7. Finbar on here lives in Sheffield and was after a Tonehammer, drop him a PM.
 8.
My thanks for all your replies so far guys, it's been very helpful in narrowing down the field to just a few options! M80, Turbo Rat Mod, or Fulltone Mosfet, I'm thinking.
I'd get a dirt cheap Rat and get it modded, at least if you don't like it you won't have spent much cash. Borrow/try all the rest of the ones you want to try, if you say where you are I'm sure people on here would let you try their gear out. This is one of the friendliest forums I've come across on the net. Let us know what you go with and your thoughts. And if anything, I've been inspired to listen to some classic cave In as a result of this thread.
 9.
I think I'm looking for a Tonehammer or possibly an M-80 at a push.
You had a Tonehammer! You sold it!
 10.
Awesome stuff. I think when you're done you ought to put a big sticker on each saying "MADE IN YORKSHIRE" hehe
Then only use Shuker basses and D*A*M pedals to keep it 'shire.
 11.
Rat would be my first instict aswell, check out pelican, there bassist uses a rat on the heavier bits. Make sure you get an older one though, the new ones sound a bit pants
I modded mine and put the classic Rat LM309 chip in. It sounds way better than the one it came with.
 12.
Man that guys tone is sick
Yeah, his sound on 'Christmas' is the bass tone I'd love to get but don't have the cash or patience chasing.
 13. First Glassjaw album has Rat all over the bass according to Finbars research. Caleb Schofield of Cave In uses one too, along with a Fulltone Fulldrive, another possibility for bass and guitar.
 14. I've found my Rat cuts through really well on guitar, better than any other pedal I've tried. I've not tried it on bass but Finbar is nabbing mine for a jam next time he's in the practice room so maybe he can enlighten you after that.
 15.
Sorry... Forgot the link! There you go: Behringer PB1000
Just don't fill it with Behringer pedals! I got a decent sized Warwick case for the bargain price of £20 s/h. It's sturdy, although one of the corners was coming off when I bought it so I'm not sure what was done to cause that. It's certainly done me well through many gigs and a trip to Europe.
 16. The Tip-Ex in a dispenser does a pretty straight white line
 17.
I guess you could try those in Chris' earlier post or indeed TRR's - but if you can get to a guitar shop, see if you can try out one or two different types. Hmmmm.. do line 6 have a chorus/flanger pedal in one box? Or is my memory failing me?
The MM4 must do, although I'm too lazy to check. Edit:- It does indeed.
 18.
Ok. Hands up both of the people who haven't got OC-2s....
Me! I feel all left out.
 19.
I love my programmable bddi. But it only has one input.
Mine has 2. How odd. I've not tried the EBS but the Sansamp is very flexible with a lot of useful features, optional programmable FX loop, paralell output, 2 inputs etc. It only really does one sound (Ampeg-ish) but if you like that, you're set!
 20. www.bitsbox.co.uk http://uk.farnell.com/ You should get most of what you need from these 2. E-ay for the more obscure stuff. http://vibe-o-tronic.co.uk/ usually has some good stuff selected for guitar pedals too but it's pricy.
 21. That's the one, simple as it gets really. A more in-depth look at the pedal is here, including a few variations and diode ideas.
 22. Works fine, the bass setting sounds pretty good. Mine is now going to get bass modded!
 23. 'verb sold pending safe postage and payment. Edit: Never mind, still available! Anyone fancy all 3 for £75 or swap for a decent overdrive (and maybe cash your way?)
 24. Loads of veroboard layouts here:-- http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php...NFLY-LAYOUTS_0/ Including a very simple bass fuzz on page 3 of fuzz > vero layouts. That should be good to start you off.
 25.
I've modded my crybaby like that. I'll upload some sound samples later, if I get chance.
Do it! I've bought one for modding but I'm wondering whether to make it a bass monster instead.
