*edit*

I've sent 3 basses with parcel2go so far, they've all been delivered on time and without the merest scratch to the packaging. I even entrusted them with taking a £1000+ Sei to the Isle of Man.
2. Damn... I'm only 40 mins away across the water, but tonight I'm seeing my kids and then got a rehearsal. I'd have been there otherwise. Have a good one anyway, and "vielleicht das nachster zeit"

South East Bash

Cambridge would almost make it an EastAnglia Bash...

South East Bash

Yup, excellent

Blimey

OK, so it's not perfect by any stretch... but, this kid is 14 and has been playing for 2 years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Es5lauJM0UM Bloody little whippersnapper.
6. Oh, nearly forgot... Brotherhood Of Man supported us at a fest a couple of years ago 'Save Your Kisses For Me' and all that. Yes, they're still going... the girls are lovely, very friendly, but one of the blokes may or may not be* an arrogant tosser. And there might be* an awful lot on their backing tape, if you see what I mean. * in the interests of avoiding anything potentially libellous.
7. Yeah, you could have really pissed him off by playing some Fish-era stuff
8. Ibanez used to have a reputation for really skinny pencil necks, have they changed this? Also, the Yam BB basses have considerably thicker necks than the RBX ones -- I tried the two together and the necks were like chalk & cheese. Don't know about the TRBs though.
9. Added to which, maple boards look the absolute sex
10. Many many years ago, my band played support to a band in which Nick Beggs was guesting. I had a wee slappy solo in one of our songs; after I'd done it, I glanced into the crowd and Nick B was looking at me, & he smiled and raised his pint at me. I was walking on air for the next month after that.
11. He's a total geezer, and as mad as a hatstand.
12.
Mick Karns
What, both of them?
13. Ah, but they have also said that they'll send a new o/p trans if it doesn't cure it. At least they aren't adopting the *shrug* "not my problem mate" approach that some amp manufacturers seem to take.

Tune Basses

These things are gorgeous in every way. It's a very modern sound (well, of its time anyway) from what I remember, slap tone to die for. Buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it, ooooh you know you want to. That German price is a steal.
15.
Anthony Jackson's considerable wing
Presumably that's a bingo-wing..?
16. Maple
17. One thing is that the cab with the lower impedance, i.e. the combo itself, will be getting more of those watts and will therefore *in theory* be louder than the Ashdown cab.
18. OK, so what happened to the discussion re: colour that was developing here? Several comments seem to have disappeared without trace! And no, they haven't been mod-deleted.
19. And that, my friends, would be a brilliant bona-fide bang-for-buck bargain. How's that for a spot of early morning alliteration? +1 for a terrific amp.
20. Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIHrdLwa_y8...ted&search=
21. Claypool's timing seems OK, but his intonation on fretless absolutely sucks. I've never understood the fuss about this guy. You want to hear off the wall fretless playing? Go check out some of Mick Karn's work. Sorry, a bit off topic but I had to get that off my chest.
22. IIRC Tom wotnwhy had/has a Glock cab..? EDIT: Yes, he does
23. Handsome beasty. The bass is nice too.
24. Blimey, for a strange neck profile you ought to try my Wal. Never mind a D, it's more like a > ..! The TRBsixers are lovely instruments, but with the standard string spacing they are simply too wwwwwwide for my silly stumpy little fingers. Such a pity, cos they really are gorgeous.
25. Oh yes, the time is right and the moment is ripe and, errm, lots of other stuff basically meaning 'yes let's do it'
