1. Very nice. Now pop over to the Introductions area and say 'hi'..!
2. 'Men In Black', Will Smith. Sampled (i.e. utterly stolen) from 'Forget Me Nots', which is infinitely the better tune. Also, Gary Numan's 'We Take Mystery (To Bed)'. The song is very average, but Pino's bass is gusset-dampeningly fabulous.
3.
Obviously, anyone using the term "Dawg" should be shot in the face.
Unless it is immediately preceded by "Deputy".
4.
The term chops has been around for decades now.. not new or trendy in any way
Agreed. Not new. Not trendy. Just REALLY REALLY stupid.
5. Rich

I'm off to NZ.

May I be the first to say I hope you had a good journey and that the weather's nice in NZ? Like I said on the phone, I'm gonna miss ya and I hope it all works out well. I'll fax you that beer later.
6. It depends what's broken. If you can get it open, it'll be a nightmare of surface-mount boards inside, very fiddly and totally user-unserviceable. +1 on trying Korg for repairs, to be honest.
7. Lakland Darry Jones 5, I've played a couple and they're stunning (PTP's especially). If you can stretch a bit, I'd say this...
Shuker! You won't get any better for £1,500 IMO.
...but obviously I've got to say +1 to this too! It depends if you want to go along the custom route really.
8.
My band have just got a sponsorship deal with a K-Array KR200 system, not cheap but extremely compact and loud as hell!!!!!
I can confirm the compactness and general loudity of said PA. It's barely noticeable compared to traditional PA stacks. Our frontman has built up a substantial and very effective PA using EON-style active cabs. He has quite a range of subs and full-range ones, so he can do anything from one cab a side for vocals to a full-on 6k rig (and of course they work v.well as monitors too). If you can stretch to them, the powered cabs are a very good route to take.
9. Damn. No tour dates anywhere near Bristol. Damn damn damn damn damn damn.
10. In bassist terms, it's a sort of halfway clicky bit.
11. I've always been faintly amused by the use of the word 'chops' to describe one's ability. And especially by phrases like "his chops are happening". When I was a lad, 'chops' were something you got from the butcher. And if your chops were happening, it meant your tea was ready. I remember when all this were fields, and so on.
12. Just checked the A-Z of exhibitors. Nothing to make it worth the train fare IMHO. It'd be a 3+hour trip for me anyway.
13.
bare Epi EB-0 - a failed attempt to keep an SG style bass in the herd Rockbass Corvette - same, plus I have no interest in modding it.
If you ask me, a Rockbass Corvette is a very failed attempt to keep an SG style bass in the herd.
14. *too envious to reply properly*
15. I met Cass in the Best Music Shop In Wapping (RIP) back in, blimey, '85 or something? I think he'd just got together with TTD and it was well before the first album. He (Cass) was trying out a Trace rig, he had an outrageous bright pink 'Chandlerised' fretless Fender Jazz (even the f/board was pink!) with gold hardware and big brass slap-plates in the end of the neck. The sound was monstrous and my god he could play it. He was genuinely interested in my opinion of the Trace's sound. Really nice guy, no ego trips or anything, just a down to earth fella. Will be nice to see SA back in action.
16. Wow! That's a piss to remember
17.
Roger Taylor. Queen's weakest link. BOOM BASH BOOM BASH BOOM BASH BOOM BASH CRASH BOOM BASH BOOM BASH BOOM BASH BOOM BASH CRASH
Saved only by his vocal capabilities. If only they could have kept him on BVs but got an actual drummer to to the drums...
18. No more penis references please.
Wouldn't it be good if his [Manring's] folks gave him the first name of Roger? Carry on.
Or if he joined the army and became a Captain..?
19. Firmly in 'phwoarr' territory. I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want

21.
Brilliant.............and what about this one?
This is my single favourite youtube vid. The first time I heard this piece I nearly wept. Utterly beautiful and my favourite solo bass piece ever. Adhan is well up there too.
22. Well, obviously top of the tree for me is Shuker. I've got one, built for me, it's lovely, etc etc. Status basses are wonderful too. As far as more 'off the peg' instruments are concerned, it's Yamaha for me. They turn out consistently high-quality basses, they're innovative without being wacky, they sound fabulous, and their value for money is simply amazing.
23.
Yep, if you look here, there are plenty. S.P.
Oh, this is lovely. Gimme. Now.
24. What he failed to add after "a fairly professional job as far as i can tell" was "assuming it was done by a insane chimp with uncontrollable muscle spasms and hand-eye coordination problems, using a selection of blunt kitchen utensils".
25. It takes us quite a while, cos there's 13 of us But 4 hours for a 5 piece band is ridiculous. Even 3 is a bit over the top 2BH.
