I have an occasional dep gig with a busy function band, it's all 'top 40' type stuff and nowt too challenging. They give me plenty of notice and a set list so I have time for practice at home and to make up some crib sheets. I had one 'gig' with them a couple of years back, it was in South Wales at a holiday camp about 90 minutes' drive away... the band leader/frontlady was assured time and again that they had a substantial in-house PA, but we got there to find that substantial actually meant a 2 channel 30w vocal PA with a pair of Radio Shack speakers. The camp ents. manager still expected something from us, so the band leader sang to the backing track tape she always carries Just In Case, and the rest of us went home. She was mortified that I'd had a long pointless drive, was incandescent with fury at the camp and vowed to screw them for the full band fee plus nuisance money, which she got - the band has a good standard contract, and she's a lawyer by trade and very good at getting what she wants - so I was well compensated for my wasted time. But in truth, I didn't mind that much. I'd caught up with my friends in the band, albeit fleetingly, and it was a beautiful evening for a drive, so I took the scenic route home. But it was a good lesson in the band always having a watertight contract!

After the last gig, I crashed all my gear and loaded it into the car, helped to dismantle the PA, changed my shirt for a less sweaty one, then climbed in the car and drove the 1hr+ journey home. Once there, I sat down for a bit with a cup of decaf to wind down, and then slept the sleep of the bleeding knackered. The next gig (tomorrow night) will be much the same, except the journey home will be half an hour longer. Only one of my gigs this year will be closer than 45 mins to home.

Annnyway, getting back to the OP... By the looks of the back of your amp and speakers, you need jack-to-jack speaker leads. Stone age technology these days, but still easy enough to get hold of. I would highly recommend that you find a cable manufacturer in the US and order what you want from them. They will be able to provide you with the lengths you want in the cable gauge you require.

I'd not had any dealings with him here, but we were Farcebook friends and swapped "happy birthday"s and the occasional witticism there. I was very aware of how well loved he was, and he always came across as a really nice bloke. He'd been here so long, he was one of the original fixtures/fittings. It's always sad when a good man goes before his time. I offer my heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved him. RIP old hoss.

Just announced by his wife on Facebook: "Our Nick. Last night Nick's cancer finally took him away from us. He fought and endured so much from the inital diagnosis 11 years ago, to the second then third reoccurrence. Our fighter until the end. Tenacious, stubborn, fiercely loyal and a complete Dr Dolittle. It's a surprise there are only 3 dogs in the house such was his love of animals. The compromise, a constant stream of bass guitars, "but this one makes the sound I need" only to leave the house a short time later! And latterly his love of Star Wars specifically the franchise Lego filled most available spaces. He loved and was loved completely and there's now a huge void that will never be filled. I have some favours to ask, please hug your loved ones a little tighter today, and please share any stories/anecdotes/memories and photos you have of Nick."
