  2. Does anyone else, when looking at the acronym NWOBHM, pronounce it in their head as 'ner-wobbum'? Just me, then.

  4. I'd not seen this before, but that is cooler than the other side of the pillow 😎 I bet it sounds the absolute pooches parts with flats on it. Can we have an update @Iacopo San?

  11. Oh absolutely yes! And one of the essential jobs of art is to divide opinion and invite comment.

  15. It's a bass. There, the similarity between it and an actual Fender P ends very abruptly.
  16. Congrats on your new baby! There are elements that I really do like, a lot, and would very likely have chosen myself -- the fingerboard is gorgeous, and the use of the blue resin is very effective and attractive -- but TBH it's definitely not the nicest singlecut shape I've seen, and whilst I do love a good coffee table bass I really hate buckeye. So for me, close but no cigar. As long as it makes you ecstatic, and I'm guessing it does, that's all that matters.

  19. Why oh why did I have to look for it? Now I can't unsee it.
  20. Astonishing isn't it? I mean, what actually moves these people? Are they deranged puppy-stranglers or just utterly grey?
  21. mild personal opinion on the music, not the man himself "you're stomping on his grave!"
  22. I was involved in a several-cornered debate on Farcebook the other day on the subject of musicians' visas and free movement in the EU and so on. One of the participants in the exchange said, and I quote, "frankly, the less music the better". I was astounded, I had to ask him if he was serious. He was. Apparently he doesn't mind anyone else listening to it personally (oooh, that's nice of him!) but he hates "being assaulted by it". I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around such a view. His world wouldn't be worth living in.
  23. Agreed, that's what's so wonderful about music. Well, one of the things. It talks to us on a personal level, and it says something different to each of us.
  24. And a million miles from anything that has happened on this thread.
  25. "Stomp on their grave" just gave me a proper chuckle.
