  8. A schoolmate of mine was an obsessed metalhead, always on the lookout for something new as long as it was heavier than lead. He bought this Molly Hatchet album unheard, based entirely on the look of the sleeve, somehow convinced it was going to make Motorhead sound like Peters & Lee. Imagine his disappointment when it turned out to be Southern not-remotely-metal boogie rock. Oh, how the rest of us laughed. A lot.
  9. Looks a lot like the Fiddlers..? Love playing there.

  14. My Chemical Romance, The Black Parade tour, Cardiff International Arena, 25th March 2007. MCR were fine, but their support (according to tinternet it was either LostAlone, Rise Against or Thursday... I can't remember which) was absurd. I don't know if their engineer was trying to impress through sheer volume, but he failed. Nothing was discernible through the wall of noise.

  19. I must have been a lucky sod over the years, I’ve only ever left two gigs early and neither was because the band was bad, far from it. First one was Radio One’s “Summer Of 84” all-dayer at Wembley Stadium, when we left halfway through Elton’s encore song (Crocodile Rock I think) to beat the rush**. Second was Vow Wow at the Majestic in Reading, 87ish I think, because I had a stupidly early start next morning. ** my mate was also there and stayed to the end, another 5 minutes or so. At about the same time I was dropping my girlfriend off at her house in Reading, he was just about getting out of the car park at Wembley.
