  1. Bought this recently for a P/J project but a change in circumstances means I've got to shift a few bits and pieces. This is the VTC kit which includes: all you can see in the bottom right picture in the attached link. http://www.sadowsky.com/pop/vintage_tone/vintage_tone.html Video demo courtesy of BCC - Jump yo about 2:15 for audio http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGmhcfWiIGA This passive tone control works in both active and passive modes and really helps take some of the top end off your tone allowing you keep the active punch but with a more vintage vibe. It's a very useful control which I first discovered in GuitarGuitar while noodling on a Sadowsky and loving the added level of control it afforded. I was gonna combine with an Aguilar OBP-1 but needs must. The bass is up for sale in another thread. So to recap this is for the VTC kit a concentric bass/treble boost only pot (25k) for use within an active circuit and a passive tone control with pull /push active circuit on/off switch built in. It also contains the relevant caps and the original wiring diagram. A firm £65 posted thanks.
  2. Aguilar DB 359 sounds niiiice!
  3. These do look and sound great! Cheers for the vid
  4. i have solved this simple problem by living about 7 minutes cycle from my practice room.
  5. Traded a rig with Eddie. Great guy, lots of comms to keep the process smooth clear and I was well informed throughout the whole process. Your rig is due for uplift tomorrow as my PM and apologies for the delay. Should have it on Friday, hopefully in time to gig that night. Second deal I've done with Eddie and I'd certainly say deal with confidence! Gavin

  7. Hey I was just about to post that link It's pretty useful!
  8. I've just been playing a bass which has had this kit installed. The tone knob is usable across its range and you can really dial it in to the sound you want. It's tamed the hell out of a Seymour 1/4lb'er to a point where its has enough punch without that clacky top end i.e. it sounds like a bass not a collander falling down some steps- Yes a generation of punk bassists I mean you!
  9. Traded for a Matt Freeman P bass with upgrades. Stunning bass and great comms. To be honest I was the weak link in this transaction and Gareths was gracious and patient throughout. His packaging has put me to shame and I can recommend a deal with this upstanding Basschat ambassador! Thanks
  10. Bump for an incredibly rare pre - these are the proverbial hens teeth. They WILL complete your studio rig, live rig etc etc.
  11. I've had an NP4 and really liked it but sold the bass on. The Antiquity sounds big and the 1/4lb interests me too. been nice to hear some other others like the Lakland models (which makes great pick ups!) and Fralins. If you guys uncover any more maybe we could get a thread stickies with some useful links as its a question which gets asked so frequently? G
  12. So I stumbled upon this earlier. Really useful as a sonic guide and comparison. All the listed pick ups were fitted to the same bass, a 70's P I think there are 9 different pick ups tested. http://www.ozbassforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3672&st=0&sk=t&sd=a Hope someone finds it useful
  13. I posted on Beedsters original thread. This is my old pre and its superb! I put the Mullards in it and if you Pm me about swapping for the ones I currently use I gladly sawp you for them Owen ! This is a killer pre and indeed the same front end as in the DB750. Its got a Jensen Di out as used by Radial in their JDI (and reatils for abt £180!!) and a really clever series /parellel effects loop accessible from the front panel. The tone stack while not givng any extremes is just tasteful and useable across its full range. I describe it as you might not like a particular tone this thing makes but that doesn't make it a bad tone! Its still gonna have that valve warmth to it. FYI i dont think there are any 'bad' tones in this thing. I moved it on to downsize but went back to using a valve pre & power amp. Hard to beat that warmth!
  14. PM'd and have a look at my for sale thread in the effects section for audio! Cheers
  15. Prices include P+P which I appear to have omitted from the initial post. Doh!
  16. Bought a VTC kit from Rogerio. He was patient while I worked out some other bits and pieces and gave me some great advice for my first visit to Portugal next year! Obrigado!
  17. New bass will be winging its way to you in a few short hours Actually just collected
  18. Sorry but I don't think I'll accept your offer but thank you.
  19. I also have a power amp to pair with this if anyone is after a killer live rig (Eden WT1000) Open to trades: -Preamp only for an Aguilar TH500 or similarly priced compact head -complete rig of the EdenWT/Read for an all valve head such as AD200, Aguilar DB750 or DB359 I'm not looking for an Orange Tiny Terror and ideally trade offers would be for heads capable of 300w+ Cheers
