Just checked at GAK and they have given me an estimated despatch date of 21st January. I guess that's not too bad... except the fact that you are not told this until after you order is ridiculous. While waiting to find this out I missed out on an ebay auction for an EB-0 that finished at £82 plus £25 p+p. That has annoyed me somewhat. The thing is a mate of mine is probably going to buy my other 2 basses off me this week. This will leave me bassless for the first time in a long time. I'm off to the GAK forum!

Cheers! Just ordered one. I actually tried them first last week but I was sure they were out of stock. Of course fingers crossed for a sensible delivery time. I find it quite annoying that a lot of these online shops don't advise you of a delivery date before you buy. If it's more than a week I will probably cancel again! P.

Bugger. Gear4music have just put the deliver date back a month, so I have cancelled it. Or rather I have emailed them and asked them to cancel it as they don't offer the option on the website.

Ahhh. The secret is microwaving it, covering with a non metallic plate and stirring half way through. Instant tone.

I just fancy a change from my usual Fender (copies). Never actually played one but the missus spent £110 on a pair of very tasty Fly boots so I retaliated by ordering a bass! I used to play an Epiphone Rivoli years ago and that was lovely. I am pretty sure with a tweak here and there it will do what I want it to.

Yeah, but Bill Gates owns Fender. Or something.

Well, either way, nice scheme. It will look pretty cool. I am actually a world class photoshopper! I just can't be bothered most of the time!

I'm not alone? Woooo! It comes from the realisation that since I have stopped playing outside of the bedroom, tone, or rather the search for it, has become more important than the notes. So I am going back to basics. I want a simple, tonally limited instrument that will force me to think about what I am playing first, and what it sounds like second.

Maybe a slight overreaction but an understandable one IMHO. Considering the highly emotional context, unnecessary accusations are just a bit... unnecessary. It's a sad trend with forums unfortunately. In the real world it is generally acknowledged that sometimes negative thoughts are best left unsaid. Some people don't seem to think that same restraint applies on the web. If you're hanging out with a new group of friends down the pub and one of them comes right out and accuses you of something dishonest, then maybe that will make you think twice about associating with them. I don't see why a forum would be different. That aside, it's a great story and hopefully all will end well and hopefully the beating Andre gets off Butch won't do any permanent damage!

I have ordered one. I am going to play it with distortion and a plectrum. I just don't care.

I have been using the lo-fi version of Bc on my phone recently but it lacks a way to log-in and indeed a way to post. Is that something that can be added or is lo-fi REALLY lo-fi? Ta.
