I played E-C for a while. I could never get the hang of B strings!! Back to 4 now.

I have something similar. I hear all the notes I play as wrong and see scowling faces and hands clamped over ears. Weird.

I used to play a parts bass and I gave it some serious abuse. At the end of one gig I just dropped it on the stage and walked off....very rock n roll. Bugger stayed in tune too.

Since the arrival of my Epi EB-0 I have rediscovered 70s classic rock! So currently listening to Free, Cream etc.

Nice modification! I think I will stick with my limited sound though, I am rather enjoying the simplicity of it all.

New bass should be here Tuesday. To kill the time I have recorded some music in need of a bass line so I can get straight into it when it arrives.

I either just lie or have a major "F**k this I'm leaving!" tantrum.

Looking good and causing a pang of jealousy too. I have just decided to return to short scale after remembering how nice my Epiphone Rivoli was combined with feeling totally uninspired by all things Fenderish. If I ever have any spare cash (not likely but I can dream.) I will definitely get Paul to make me something weird and wonderful.

I fully intended to stick around for Rush right until the backing vocals appeared behind me from some sort of totally unnecessary quadrophonic sound system. I prefer my gigs to be of the sweaty, energetic, full of cock ups kind, and not the exactly same as the record kind.

I have no opinions about the gentleman. I walked out of my only Rush gig ten minutes in. Primus were supporting and were brilliant.

A guitar teacher friend of mine has just asked me about Geddy Lee and how many fingers he uses. I am pretty sure the old bassplayer.tv had a video of him showing a one finger technique. That website just seems to redirect to bassplayer.com. Google has let me down, so I wondered if anyone here could point me to the vid in question. Cheers.

Try the various European ebay sites, .de .fr etc. I bought an MTD Kingston for about £150 from Germany that way. That was a few years ago though so not sure of their current value.

I bought a brand new "Cat" in 86/87. Not sure how long they had been around by then. Only found one on google images so I don't know if that implies something about their rarity...or popularity?
