1. Brilliant post GW. Very good job of expressing your opinion and also giving the reasons for it. Nice one. However, IMHO none of that excuses rudeness, especially in a conversation between what is essentially a retailer a customer. Plenty of people do great things for charity and manage not to be complete nobs at the same time.
2. I now have an image in my head of turning up to a gig with a box of spares and making a bass during the intro of the first song. Of course I haven't gigged with a real bass in years so maybe I should do that first?
3. That's shocking. Makes me wish I had a MM so I could sell it and buy a Fender.
4.
haha brilliant! Did you just tape a pickup, a bridge, a tuner and a jack to a curtain pole?
Bridge and tuner? Nothing that fancy. I put a nail through the ball end of the string to fix it the headstock end. Then I nailed a saddle from a bridge at each end. The other end of the string is passed through the hole for the intonation screw on the saddle. It stays there thanks to an electrical connector. Then I wedged a guitar slide under the string t act as a bridge. The pickup is attached to the jack with electrical tape and all gaffa taped into place.
5. It was very much like that. But with a bit more swearing.
6. In a desperate attempt to stop myself from buying chocolate doughnuts I decided to build a new bass out of an old curtain pole and some spares I had lying around. Everything is attached by either nails or gaffa tape. Played through a Zoom B2 and an Ashdown combo. Recorded on a stills camera.
7. End of the month???? We can't wait that long!
8. Hey Craig, Talking of threadjacking, and noticing that you're from Las Vegas, did you have a crack at the WSOP? Or don't you play? P.
9. I can't think of anything to say. Have fun in NZ Guy. Does Craig Martini still post here? Can we have an exclusive famous bass player forum that the rest of us are not allowed in? Or we could start threads about as many famous bass players as possible and see how many turn up? I still bore the wife silly about the fact that the bloke off Sky News emailed me.
10. Nice one.
11. I've got an Aero2 and couldn't be happier. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=88587 EDIT: And welcome to the forum btw.
12. That Tal solo is lovely.
13.
Oh Paul I know why you like it, it looks like a robot.
I'm f***ing getting one.
14. I get guitar amp gas more than bass amp gas...and that's not helping. Where's the pilot light?
15. I used to deliver chickens to Tony Goggle's house.
16. That is rather cool. Especially as it seems to be gas powered. Details for those of us too lazy to google?
17. It is a pity about the headstock but I think that doesn't look too bad on the 6 string. Looks awful on the 4/5 strings though.
18.
It sounds excellent -very Norman Watt-Roy from the Blockheads (both your playing and the bass sound).
That's possibly the nicest thing anybody has ever said to me! Thanks!
19. Nope. It's as awesome as the day it arrived.
20. Anyone who can get to Hemel Hempstead is more than welcome to come and try out the Aerovibe.
21. Are you going to get one?????
22. paul h

Retrovibe?

Get one. Mine's fab.
23.
I'll have to see if Paul H will do a Wood and Tronics Ergon splat tee for me
I could do that. I could also design some merchandise for W&T. :nudge:
24. Are you sure it's not just a phase?
25. I walked into a nightclub and they started playing one of our tracks. I felt very detached from it and it was altogether surreal. Bass sounded good though!
