1. I get that with songs I don't like. I get bored and stop listening!
2. Back of the net! Great work. I wish I could get my stuff to sound a quarter as good as that. No, an eighth. Or a sixteenth. Nice one.
3. There's a lot to be said for buying cheap and modding. I personally have never spent much over £400 on a bass. I've tried but never gone through with it. I went into Musical Exchanges in Brum once with £1500. I tried a couple of Warwicks, a couple of Stingrays, a couple of US Fenders and even a Ric. I came out with a MIJ P for £250 which ended up as my main bass for years. I'm not saying the other basses were not better, just not £1250 better!
4. Love it. Can't beat a good old mooch around during a song! I have just gaffa taped the transmitter to my strap and the battery cover seems pretty secure. Will give it a good test at rehearsals on Monday.
5. Buy everything in the world.
6. I am actually quite excited. If the stage is big enough I will move around like a bugger!
7.
Imagine my surprise when I found the strap pin (which locates through an extended neck bolt) on my EB0 is more useless than a useless thing. None of my straps work with it - the 'cut' is so thin it won't grip anything. At the minute it's bodged with the universal Groltsch top to stop the bass falling to the ground. I've tried to replace it with a standard Fender pin but the damn bolt is too thick. Anyone had the same problem/any suggestions.
I only used my EB-0 with a strap a couple of times and it was fine. I know that's no help at all. I always use a couple of felt washers on my basses and they do the trick. But of course probably no better than what you are doing. So to sum up. I am no help.
8. I actually just found some perfect foam at the bottom of a box. I found a full roll of black gaffa tape in the road the other day too. Things are looking up!
9. Thanks but just got one in a trade with Fretmeister. I feel liberated!
10. There I was, expecting a real cloak and dagger, seedy, grubby, dastardly hand over in a dark dank motorway services and instead a very nice and friendly chap with a sweet little daughter in tow turned up and totally dashed my hopes. Great chap, a pleasure to meet and a pleasure to do business with. Thanks.
11. Those notes are right AFAIK, remembering a passing D between the C and G. The last version I listened to on Grooveshark wasn't in concert pitch so that might be the problem.
12. Sorted, barring random acts of nature. Thanks guys.
13. Thanks for the tip! However since posting this thread I have started secret negotiations for a rendezvous of a wireless nature!. It's all very hush, hush.
14. Probass is basically a guy called David who has these made to his specs in China. I have an Aero2 which looks identical to this one, but is set neck construction. I have to be honest I absolutely love mine and mine cost £300!!!
15. Any recommendations?
16. After pulling out my lead and tripping over it several times last night I am now leaning towards a wireless system of some sort!
17. Well worth the wait, that is fantastic looking!
18.
Hard to go wrong with Daddarios, except spelling and saying it. Good strings and cheap.
+1 I love D'Addario nickels. Currently using EXL 220s on my main bass. I went through a lot of the usual suspects many years ago but have never turned back since using D'Addario. I like using steels on P style basses and Roberts Growlers off the bay are great and less than a tenner!
19. Epiphone EB-0 for a P copy of some sort? I experimented with shortscale during a lull in my bass love but could now do with a cheap full scale P as a back up. Collection / meet halfway only because postage is a hassle. It's in very good condition with only light bedroom use although IIRC it has a couple of small marks but nothing to write home about. Here is a short demonstration of my lack of playing ability. Best listened to through decent speakers of course because it sounds like an angry wasp through my laptop but sounds exactly how you would expect in real life. Just a thought...I could be tempted by a wireless system too. Maybe. EDIT: I'm in Hemel Hempstead by the way!
20. I would like to know the general consensus too. I have an Affinity strat and it has a few minor issues but it plays and sounds great. I often think of getting the matching P bass.
21.
Indeed, white basses are the best stage basses period. Hopefully mine due soon also!
Maybe there should be a white bass porn thread? If there isn't one already.
22. Quick update, Changed from D'Addario EXL180s to EXL220s and it's solved the problem. The 220s have the same gauge E and A string but with a heavier D and G. Balance is restored!

YES

NO.
24. I think I will go for D'Addario EXL 220s at 40/60/76/95 so I get heavier DG and keep my EA the same. Now I come to think about it, I am sure I used to use these! I must have bought the wrong gauge last time!
