I'd imagine the Gordy is worth anywhere between £250-450 depending on condition. I'd say similar for the PJ too. Are you looking to shift them?

The classic 50e aren't nitro, but they are fecking amazing. If you really want nitro look at a roadworn if its the 50s neck your after. Pound for pound the 50s is probably as much bass for less though.

Westones are a good shout. Just be careful it doesn't take over your life!

It's worth noting that without a truss rod there will be no relief at all, so it might change the feel of the bass somewhat, I'm not sure if the ray replacement necks have a rod or not though.

There are a few hoyer owners on here, most have Gibson replicas though. I've never seen this model before, not that I'm an expert.

Get a P, a set of flats and a dirty great valve rig and your life will be complete

A lot of big names use Schaller tuners, EB, Gibson etc, hipshot ultralites are worth a look. Can't go wrong with nordy.

I had one of these, I'd recommend playing before you buy, I didn't like the neck at all.

If you're thinking P and want something a little different might I suggest a Lakland? I've had my skyline bob Glaub for 3 weeks now and it's completely left my other basses in the cupboard. I've always liked P's but every Fender I've played or owned (MIM 50s, CIJ 51, CIJ 70, US 78, US 2012) has had something missing. The lakland has everything in spades. The tone knob has a far wider spectrum too.
