2. its sooo tempting but Ricks fine 59 isnt sure about the body......?
3. thats cos it aint balck and it aint graphite!
4. would be quite interesting if anyone on BC actually wasn't watching it

6.
Oooooh I have a pair of early 80's Precision pickups that would sound real dandy in this little honey.
PERV !!!!!
7. well i got my JV P from Ash and an amazing bass it is too, however i have taken out the pots and replaced them with something from John (cant remember his basschat name! - Kilogon?) and also the origional P pup and put in SD quarter pounders. So I have the origional 82/3 pups and electrics sitting in the back of a drawer somewhere! So, forgetting about value, it might be worth a punt for the neck and body and poping in my gear? Really fancy a "sort of" genuine JV...
8.
the plonker says it's worth 900-1000... with no pups or electrics.... having tried to sell one of these.... but a first edition, with all the parts.... I think that may be a bit high a guess!
yeah be interesting to see how high it goes, 400 would be my guess, and thats overpriced IMO. Out of interest, would putting in origional pups and electrics (guess who has some! make a difference to the value?
9. Some plonker told the seller what this was! Could have been the bargain of the year! http://cgi.ebay.co.u...455#description
10.
As I said a few pages ago. It isn't. It's not a free competitive market. There are some bands out there whose members earn enough doing other things that they have no intention of ever getting paid. You can't compete with that, no matter how you try. When a guy earning £30k+ in his office job 9-5 can afford to buy whatever PA, lighting, drum, guitar he wants. What can you do as a musician that's better? That the public will notice. Some of these guys are incredibly good.
ive yet to meet a "free" band thats sh*t hot, week in, week out and if they were trhat good, wouldn't realise it and start demanding a fee for thier services, thats just fantasy IMO
11. Last Night 3 hours driving 2 hours set up, take down 2 hours playing £80 each £20 petrol £60 for 7 hours on a saturday night £8.57 per hour Bar staff? Prob 6/7 per hour (depending on age) Better than playing for free or working behind a bar but wouldnt give up the day job!!
12.
i am a zeppelin nut!! but I am glad they did not reform for a tour. Why?, because Bonzo's not around of course. That's why they split up in the first place, no Bonzo-no Zeppelin. looking forward to the DVD. I have seen a bootleg version and though Jason does a good job, He's no Bonzo. I reckon Plant would struggle with a full blown tour, as his voice is not what it used to be (just ask Ian Gillan). So IMO leave well enough alone and protect the legacy.
This exactly. When i hear Plants voice on (the first 5 albums especially) and when i hear it now, it would be heartbreaking to hear him try those songs at this point in time. His voice is nothing like it used to be (like Gillans - terrible), leave well alone, and remember them in their prime.
13. great transparent pedal, tube too!
14. Hi i was wondering if you could be a little more specific about the painting? thanks... couldnt resist asking the question....
15. completely rubbish responses to her questions...i'd have been in her knickers within 10 minutes............honest....
16. Dave Hall does the same for about a third of the price http://www.davehallamps.co.uk/page37.html
17.
If it was anything like my time with the 25Hz sinewave, skidder would have wanted to throw up! It's a nauseating experience which shuddered around the house.
Lol put the 25Hz through the speaker in the garden! Played a biker event on Saturday and was very pleased with the results. Very Loud, plenty of Low end but far more articulate in the mids and highs than my ashdown driver. I paired it with my Warwick WCA 115 so the full 500W @4 ohms, no farting or distortion although i never go beyond 2o'clock on the "gain" and vol settings. So very pleased....£170 pleased? Dunno yet, would it sound even better with some alterations to the cab? Again dunno... I think i might just play with it as it is for a while and maybe get used to it, then make the ports 100mm later and see if i notice any improvement. Bass player on before us BTW played a 5 string through a Hartke 350W head with a Behringer amp modeller,, a Hartke 4 x10 and a Hartke 1 x 15 and sounded absoloutely HUGE which was a bit disconcerting!
18. the first thing that came into my head when i saw that "bass" was kenny everett and "brother lee love" http://www.soul-source.co.uk/soulforum/uploads/post-4120-074321500%201284580518_thumb.jpg
19. Speaker arrived yesterday! Talk about service! I was told 20th October and it arrives 3 weeks early - fantastic. Im going to fit it today without any alterations apart from the cab being lined with acoustic foam. We "headline" a bike rally tonight so im going to run it today with the 25 Hz sine downloaded from barefaced and try it out tonnight, can't wait!
20.
While waiting you could always construct a cab using the suggested Eminence designs. Get local timber supplier to cut plywood to size, get nail gun and expanding polyurethane glue. Enjoy. If is sounds good (and should do) finish with Tuffcab and way to go.
You make that sound soooo easy!!!
21. good point, may go down that route after attempting this-swap-speaker-cab-thing! It was just a cheapish attempt to upgrade speaker/cab without (a) building a new one, ( waiting months for a new one (although thats now happened with the kappalite The Ashdown is pretty lousy as a piece of kit IMO so chopping it up doesn't bother me (they're not worth much anyway)
22. just finished, one of the best shows for a while, every act played at the top of their game, even PIL!!!
