  1. For sale is my Made in Japan 1991 Bass Collection SB310. First off, everything people say about these basses is correct, they are wonderful to play. This bass has one of the most comfortable necks I've played, its thinner than a standard precision and thicker than a standard Jazz, for me, its just right. Its an active bass and has powerful EQ which can help shape the sound to what you want. The bass is super light weighing in at 7.2lbs and balances superbly well to boot. The condition is great given its age with only surface scratches on the back and a white mark on the headstock which could probably be polished out given enough time and effort. The neck is in great condition and everything else works exactly as it should. The fingerboard is rosewood and there is plenty of life left in the frets. Tuners and hardware are made by Gotoh. With the sale I'm also throwing in an ever dependable used Hiscox Liteflite case which is in full working order. There are a few surface scratches but no damage at all of which to speak. Alternatively, if you don't want the Hiscox case I can include a cheaper hard case thats brand new for £170. In terms of trades I'd be interested in Class D amps around 500w or a precision/yamaha bb bass. I'm happy to post, collection preferred from Brighton. *Edited for more pictures!* [attachment=212212:bc7.jpg] [attachment=212213:bc8.jpg] [attachment=212214:bc6.jpg] [attachment=212215:bc4.jpg] [attachment=212216:bc5.jpg] [attachment=212217:bc3.jpg] [attachment=212218:bc.jpg] [attachment=212219:bc2.jpg] [attachment=212220:bc1.jpg]
  2. I'm back lusting after a Yamaha 2024x in Vintage White, still the best bass i've ever tried. If only I'd had the £2000 odd asking price they wanted!
  3. Bump for recording the album with this yesterday!

No worries bud, glad the recording went well, did I see you went to Perry Vale this time?
  5. Price drop to £300. Fantastic pro amp this.
  6. For sale is my Ashdown ABM 500 EVO III with cover and is in great condition. Barely a year old and the condition is there to see. I've really enjoyed my time with the amp but I fancy a change. This thing is super loud, I've done around 5 gigs with the amp and its never been north of 11 O'Clock. The tone in addition, is straight up, unadulterated rock! It works particularly well with my precision. In terms of trades I'd be interested in an Ashdown Rootmaster 800 or an Aguilar Tonehammer. I'm happy to post at cost but collection always preferred. Alternatively, I have a few gigs upcoming around the country so may be able to meet in a mutually agreeable spot. Any other questions let me know. 9. Bought what I believe is an SB310 today, done a little set up and so far so good!
  10. This is quite interesting, I've heard the jazzes praised but didn't know they did p's too. I notice there seems to be varying prices, had anyone tried the "top of the range" ones at £119? Is there a discernable difference?
  11. G&L SB2 Is another option with an added jazz pickup if that's your bag. The nate is very comfy with SPB3 pickup and nitro finish, lots of cool features for not very much money.
  12. You beat me to Karl Alvarez who plays fantastic melodic basslines and is one of the nicest blokes I've met in music. He also loves a bass nerd out session which makes him go up in my estimation! Matt Freeman is the guy who made me take up bass though.
  13. A bit over budget new but the Squier Vintage Modified PJ I had before my Matt Freeman was a super bass, I paid under £200 second hand.
  14. I judge studios purely on the artists they have worked with and the results achieved. I find it particularly annoying that some studios fail to list who they have worked with in the past leading to time wasting investigation on my part or they drop off my radar entirely.
  15. I won't be moving too far musically from where I am now in punk, I've checked out what a few guitarists I like play and they seem to all be on Gibsons so I might have to check out the Les Paul and SG copies.. The kits seem to be fantastic value, I have noticed that the soundclips have different styles of music as demonstrations, although you could use any guitar would these indicate the traditional types of music played on them? Also seen this though which seems pretty cheap, any thoughts? https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/electric-guitar-with-amp/1142652408
  16. Thanks for the thoughts, in terms of guitar I'm instantly drawn towards the tele as it looks the coolest, whether thats the wisest way to choose is a different matter entirely! I do have an acoustic at home so I think I'll learn a couple of songs on that before I start splashing the cash, it'd be nice though to invest in something which will do me for a good while though. I play a matt freeman squier at the moment so i'll probably look at the same range (Classic vibe) that is in the first instance, may struggle on the budget though..
  17. Hi everyone, I'm looking for a starter electric guitar to learn and potentially play a couple of songs live. Obviously in the bass world I'm pretty good with knowing what bargains are available, does the same apply to guitars? Would a classic vibe be good, how do the Harley Bentons stand up? I'm starting to feel like I want a new challenge musically and hoping this can scratch that itch. The secondary consideration is that I have limited funds so around £150 would be my budget.
  18. This is quite interesting, looks the same as the RM800 but in 500 watts, probably would've got this if it had been available when I got ABM, not that I'm complaining! http://www.thomann.de/gb/ashdown_rm_500_rootmaster.htm
  19. I play punk with a pick and use an Ashdown, classic rock tone right there.
