I had a 44-02, loved it... But agree on the sound, it doesn't get close to the Ray. If you want a Ray, get a Ray - but this is a good bass in its own right. The neck made it for me. Lovely player.

Anyway, to answer the question properly - if I had some spare cash for indulging myself, I'd quite fancy a BC Rich Greg Weeks Eagle. Unknown on these shores.

I mean, at rehearsal or at a gig - or at any volume - you're not really hearing it I will say, it is heavy, mind! No experience of the LH500, but happy to field on questions on the HA3500.

Really? We'd rule out half the threads on the forum if we discounted people not liking on bass or another I think, with the EB3, my comment was based upon a little bias, I guess - I think we've convinced ourselves that they're a cheaper bass. I think it's actually pretty cool and should check my bias at the door more often

Picking might have it's interesting moments, mind, depending on how you dig in - wondering if you'd catch on the curve of the neck?
