1. No idea sorry.... I haven't tried that. Will watch the thread out of interest tho
2. I just got one of these from Ashdown on Reverb along with the tweed 112T cab. It sounds really superb. I haven't been able to try it out with guitarist and drummer yet due to the lockdown but that's a lot of the reason I decided to get it now.. the tube fascination... and time on my hands to learn how to use it 🙂. Anyway, so far, as far as I've been able to crank it up at home it's certainly compatible in volume to my Eden 208 180w combo which has always kept up with them in the space we play. I'm very pleased with it.
3. Thornybank is a really top bloke to deal with. I bought a beautiful American Standard OW/RW Jazz Bass off him last month and he bent over backwards to accommodate me in terms of timing, which was a couple of weeks in advance to suit my travelling, providing more and more info, photos for comparison on other 'whites' and then location for a meet up. Don't hesitate if he has something you want or he wants to buy from you!
4. I just bought the Jack Casady off bassbiscuits and it is exactly as he described, a fabulous bass in superb condition. Despite me giving him zero notice that I was going to be in his area as I was travelling South for work yesterday, he bent over backwards to accommodate me. A genuinely nice bloke to deal with!

6. Bass player needed for established rock, blues, funk band based between Liverpool and Wigan. Our bass player is quite tied up with other projects so we'd like somebody to help us out and take the pressure off him. Ideally you'll have your own transport and be willing to travel. As well as close to home gigs we play Cumbria, Yorkshire, Wales, Shropshire, anywhere where there’s a good audience really. Backing vocals would be an advantage but are not essential, if you have a voice we’ll use it. We put on a great show and present ourselves very professionally to the venues but we do this for fun too so you’ll find us very easy to get on with. If you like what you see so far and you’re the kind of person who’ll get stuck in with us please get in touch for an informal chat.

Howdy!?

So... The Faires and The Elves visited during the night and made the decision for me. 1998 MIM Fender Jazz. Plays and sounds delicious and has been cherished! Missus was quite surprised really with "you don't play bass!??" and "you've only just bought another guitar!??" amongst the statements of exasperation. She agrees that it's beautiful anyway even tho she thinks I need help :-) Sore fingers here I come!!

Howdy!?

Hello All, Bizarrely (maybe) I'm actually a keyboard player in a blues band (North West UK). Also, I play (and collect) guitar a bit, sing a bit and having just jacked in one of the bands I was playing with (to concentrate on blues organ/piano), I've decided to pick up something I dabbled with many years ago, BASS. I've had quite a few along the way, 1973 Rickenbacker 4001, 1978 Fender Precision, 1987 Fender Jazz (USA), all of which got (regrettably) sold along the way to purchase other guitars, keyboards and even a front door! Also had a couple of Yamahas, Ibanez, Hohner, CSL, blah blah blah… My daughter has a nice 2011 Mexican Precision in CopperBurst and a very playable and great sounding Ibanez SR250 which I've borrowed a bit… ok, a lot. NOW…. as mentioned, I have some time available and so I've decided to follow the bass bug after all and so far on the shopping list and within available budget are EITHER a MIM Jazz, Squier CV 60's Jazz, Epiphone RumbleKat, Hofner VeryThin or an Ibanez AGB200. Whichever it ends up being will occasionally be used, initially anyway, at local a jam night through a good old Fender Rumble 100 combo. I'm not (yet) a tone-specific-bass-head and I have no ego or snobbery about gear so I'm just hoping to get myself a nice sounding playable bass to use with my very loud and great sounding Rumble until the day I do inevitably become a tone-specific-bass-head egotistical gear snob ;-) So I'm doing a bit of browsing and opinion gathering and comparing…. as you do. Knew about this site/forum via an old band buddy of mine who is on here (kennyrodg). Loads of useful info so far. Hoping to jump all over a purchase in the January sales if not a used bargain before then. That's it…. Cheers Andy
