1.
Surely Squiers have dropped in quality since their beginnings? The original JV Squiers are far superior to the modern day equivalents. Actually, that should read: "They started off with incredible quality, the quality dropped significantly over the next few years, but has picked up again recently, although there are some decent instruments in amongst them."
I remain indebted to your pedantry, sir I missed the Squiers the first time. Can only comment on what I've seen

Will do, Paulie. Will likely be this evening, as I'm on the road all day.

What were you looking for in trade, Paulie? I have a 2002 Stingray, same value, and was seeking a Gibson.
4. Squier have improved no end, since their roots, and were seen to be worrying Fender in terms of quality. I'll echo Neep's comments above. The Mustang will be the better all-rounder... But there's just something about the Gibson!
5. Musicroom, York. Used to be Banks. Matt behind the counter is a BC'er, just struggling to remember his username.
6.
The way I rememer listening to vinyl was through a haze of marijoo-anna and joss sticks. Its kind of hard to replicate these days without upsetting certain folk
Haha, this is familiar. I'd say we were in the same room, just lost in the haze
7.
Yes! And he might tell you how to spell 'sacrilege' too!!
8. Nice colour choice, Neep, very nice
9.
Information on other subjects is often available too . Just don't ask for any hairdressing advice . Take it from me , that one got pretty nasty .
It just never grew back
10. Ah, the marmite that is Phil X
11.
I think it is up to the person how they spend there own money. And as for selling of basses I think for example that if somebody bought a bass on here for £500 and kept posting how good it was blah blah blah and then a week later tried to sell it on here for say £700 I think in my opinion its morally wrong but personally I just keep it to myself and move on and look for another item. We can all decide for ourselves if we think someones taking the pee and if they are I am guessing there bass wont sell? And I guess we all lust after things whether it is a car a bass etc etc I think as long as no ones getting hurt or anything its up to the person what they buy but that's just my personal opinion.
We had a debate not long ago, when a member took the step to admit that they had an issue with their buying behaviour, and had begun to get themselves into difficulties. At the time, I think the outcome was that it remained the individual's business - but, it's only human to care, and I just like to question and make sure... My own personal failing
12. Sorry, didn't know that. I've got one bass with a nitro finish and breathing on it leaves marks, it seems. Felt pads? Same thing they have for a lot of furniture when it comes to avoiding scraping wood floors.
13. Wondering if any of the Hawkwind fans have come across a band called Hookworms? Hail from Leeds, first album out and caught them at Detestival - real buzz of something Hawkwind-esque in there.
14. Those rubber pads would be an idea. B&Q and the like have them.
15.
I'm waiting for the day when a major car manufacturer rolls out a sparkling brand new car straight off the production line then wheel it over to their development centre where a team of engineers set about it with baseball bats and beat the crap out of it giving it that 'road worn' or 'relicd' look. It's only a matter of time.
I believe this is the custom in Paris, from observation
16.
I already told him I dont know where it is!!
Aw
17.
I bought a Squier jazz from Marcus a few years back - I'd say a King bass suits him fine - seemed apparent to me the guy can play.
Ah, there you are - he wants that Jazz back, also. See seperate thread
18. I've had a look at my diary for the next week, and it looks horrifying. I'll try and some new pics w/c 20/05, as I appreciate the current ones are a little... well, small!
19. I had to sit down and write bass lines for four new songs our guitarists have been putting together. Finally some real activity, and came quite close to echoing Nige's epiphany... Though I'm not half the player he is!
20. Ok chief. Just upholding my duty of care. There's an awful lot of money floating around in a short space of time. I mean, did you just pay £1050 for the SR4?
21. My concern is slightly more personal. We've seen you lust after various basses, with quite some vigour - and then we see them moved on. I wouldn't want to see you disappointed, again, or out of pocket.
