1.
I hope this comes out. I've attached a file from WinISD with three plots of a Kappalite in three boxes. [snip]
Really interesting to see Phil, thanks for that!
2.
Is that when playing over the pickup?
Is there anywhere else to fingerpick a Stingray-type?
3. I've never measured it but in terms of 'feel' when A/Bing my VS96 with a SUB fingerpicking on the Vintage seemed a little looser with the same gauge strings, so I'd take from that that the pickup IS a little further forward - shall be intrigued to find out for definite though!
4. I found the Danelectro Wasabi overdrive very usable on bass, the 'blend' control to mix the distortion with the clean signal's proper useful. The 'boost' function less so, but I guess if you wanted to do an OTT solo or something it might come in handy. Definitely less than £40 used, I think they're about that new.

6. Got a works do in Moseley early that evening, might drift down afterwards!
7. Bought on a bit of a whim to have a go with some filthy bass; doesn't like my active five-string at all shall get some pictures when I get home - trades-wise be looking for something more specifically geared towards bass (Bass Muff, Boss ODB, something like that) or happily consider more guitar-based stuff; WHY?
8. Hmmm...let me see how cheaply I could get to London and back come the weekend...
9. Had rather a spiffing night, thanks Pete!
10. I may have an interest in this, likely to be mooching for an EUB in the next week or two - whereabouts are you dude?
11. I've got a Yamaha NP11 (which I could be talked into parking with for about a ton, incidentally ) which ticks the boxes; not the BEST feeling keyboard I've ever used, but the sounds are good. You'd get a secondhand NP30 or 31 as well, which is the same sounds with a bigger (and slightly nicer-feeling) keyboard

13. Wot BigRedX said, Awesome Merch did my old band proud.
14.
my experience with T shirts is it's hard to make money, you always finish with a load of one size
We did quite well on that front, did a bit of back-of-a-fag-packet maths and ordered a mixture of sizes based on who we thought would buy 'em - go easy on mens' small, about equal amounts of medium and extra-large mens' and small and large womens', and about equal (slightly larger) numbers of mens' large and womens' medium. Worked for a rock band when most of our sales were to larger-proportioned men and medium-sized women, anyway...
15. I used Awesome Merchandise for the last lot I got, they're great.
16.
Nearly Dan are playing at The Hare and Hounds in King's Heath, Birmingham on Sunday 15 September. Doors at 8pm. www.hareandhoundskingsheath.co.uk This is our first time at this venue.
Only down the road from me, may drift down - I'm not the world's biggest SD fan, mind, so £20 to get me and the better half in might not fly if you fancy blowing the froth off one beforehand though...
17. Decided to lay the planks down for a while and get back behind the traps - fairly proficient drummer (not a double-kick-type, but happy to have a go at most styles), Birmingham/West Midlands area. Looking for a knockabout for a bit of fun OR something more serious, lemme know if you're looking...
18. Aw, dammit, only just noticed this - if things don't work out let me know!
19. On the cheaper side, I found the Danelectro Wasabi Overdrive very useable on bass for a subtle overdrive sound; it has a 'blend' control to nudge in just the right smidge of drive. Just don't touch the 'boost' switch, it sounds sh*t
20. For SLIGHTLY more modern (and I don't think anyone else has posted 'em yet, apologies if they have), Foo Fighters' or Feeder's rockier stuff seems to go over well (I've seen cracking audience responses to Monkey Wrench/The Pretender/No Way Back and Buck Rogers/Just A Day). \ From my own personal preference, there's some awesome 90s British rock that never seems to make it into cover bands' setlists - there's probably a reason as it might be a bit obscure, but with a late 20s/early 30s rock crowd slipping in a Wildhearts/Terrorvision/Skunk Anansie/Almighty number might push the right buttons. Dammit, now I want to start a covers band
21.
Yes Paul and I went to school together (still see him 'infrequently' when he pops back ooop North) and I recall seeing various pics and vids of him with various 'Vintage' guitars.
Ossum, small world; I interviewed him a couple of weeks ago, top bloke And yes, it's an Iron Gear Hot Slag pickup, which are great, and worth an extra twenty quid alone; £120 for that's a lot of guitar for bugger-all money
22. Probably a five-string Stingray-type; very happy with the Vintage V96 I'm rocking at the minute but always kinda fancied a SUB.
23.
I have written at least 10 songs that dont go above the third fret
Wot, no C#?
24. I kinda like that 'specially the 'whole notes' thing...
