I have had this bass for a while. It was my "just in case" bass. I've played it now and again in the bedroom, but no more. I don't see that changing, and since i have seen another bass i do like, this will help fund that. This is a lovely bass. Looks great, and plays fantastic. Very smooth sounding, i think it punches well above it's pricepoint The ebony fretboard looks fantastic against the white body and mint coloured scratchplate I don't know much more about the basses origins, but here is the back, showing the serial number. Maybe someone else will be able to tell more from it? It's in great condition It's a excellent bass, at a excellent price, and a great way to "dip your toes" into the world of fretless without spending a tonne. Trials are always welcomed. I will post or courier, but it will be at the buyers risk and expense. Any questions are welcomed

Just sold a bass to Alain. Very easy deal. No problems at all! Cheers

Keeping the tecamp too? Bet it'd sound good with that PUMA
-
Looks like it was destiny then Can you get any sound clips up? How would you compare it to a more modern Fender?

Sold thanks. TKS 1126 (2 of, 1 with tweeter 1 without)

Ok i can confirm there is no routing under the scratchplate: It has a 40mm neck when i measured. I was surprised at that, because it feels thinner. But i'm guessing because it isn't very thick, thats why it appears this way. It is all original as far as i can tell. Again, i don't claim to be a Fender/Squier expert so i'll happily take someones advice on this. I cant tell the weight for you yet as our bathroom scales are broken. But im sure Dunc will agree, it's lightweight!! I'll get a measurement as soon as i can -

Ive had a couple of questions via PM so i'll put the answers here: A few have asked about the serial number. It is O015717 so this dates it '93 - '94. Bassistclem - it is under the logo, but it's very faded. Don't have an explanation for that, it was like this when i got the bass. It doesn't come with a gig bag. I have very good material for safe packaging though. Check my feedback if in doubt. Not sure on the exact weight, i plan on weighing it when i get in from work, i'll amend the OP then. I'll double check the nut width then too, but i think i remember it being 38mm yes. I have also been asked about the routing under the scratchplate.... i'll look at this after work too. Dunc, yeh this is your old bass. I did debate referencing your old post saying it was the closest thing that guy had played to his '64, but he didn't say it to me, so didn't feel i should. Glad you have chipped in with that info though -

Didnt have any plans to sell this bass as i feel it's worth a lot more than it's price, but another has come up for sale that i'd really like to try. So this goes to fund that. Here it is: This is a Squier Silver Series Jazz bass, built in Japan. It's played a fair few gigs with me, and been brilliant. It's lightweight, and strung with flats it sits beautifully in the mix, rather than on top of it. It does have some playing wear, and i've shown that as best i can in the photos. I believe it is an early 90s model, but happy to be corrected on that. These basses are highly regarded round these parts, and i totally agree. Don't think there are many better at this pricepoint. All trials welcomed. I can courier the bass, but it will be at buyers expense and risk. Thanks for looking.
Lusting after a Hellwood but with a wenge neck (just love the feel of them) and purpleheart instead of padouk...
Basses AJR PJ Singlecut - Now my main gigging bass Warwick Steamer '87 PJ - Now my backup Squier Silver Series Jazz - Because i think it's worth way more than i could sell it for Farida fretless - Just incase i need a fretless Amp Kustom KXB 500 - Amazing piece of kit for the pricepoint, and any pricepoint Cabs 2 X TKS S112s - One for small gigs and onstage monitoring. Second one comes along if needed I have a TC electronic clip on tuner and a Sansamp driver that i keep incase i need a DI. I have a few pedals that i dont use anymore (Source Audio distortion, Boss Tuner, Chorus & Flanger) Not much point in selling them though
I've been after an Aguilar SL112 for a while now and am planning to go into a music store later today because nothing's come up here. Hoping one continues to not come up after I've spent £655.
I'd probably wait and try for this first... I'd have to agree with Keefbaker. If he doesn't want to listen to any advice/criticism, he is always going to keep doing these things that annoy you, and you'll end up walking.

Im sure it's pretty open ended. Whatever works best for you to give your sound etc. But from my point of view, work on accuracy of your picking. i.e picking just the string you intend play. It'll do no harm if you mute the unplayed strings with your palm too, but if you get your accuracy up initially, you can decide to play however you want in future, in the knowledge you can be precise if you need/want to be. When picking it's always useful to think of economy of motion too. The up and down picking motion should come from your wrist, not your elbow. This will help you later on if you want to play something fast. Hope that helps

Thinking of quitting bass. Opinions please
FuNkShUi replied to Twincam's topic in General Discussion
If you're a little worried about joining a band because of your skill level, make an ad and be totally honest in your advert about where you feel your at? Include in it that you just want to get in a band for the enjoyment first and see where it goes. Say the types of songs you want to play, or can already play. This way you're going to get people who are thinking along similar lines to yourself. Practice can be tedious when it has no purpose. Arrange to meet people to play through a few songs, and you got yourself a purpose! For me, there is no feeling like hearning your bass in the context of a full band. Beats solitary practice hands down. -

Still a bargain though!! That's fair enough about the frequency response. I wouldnt have thought to look at that either!

You thinking of swapping your PUMA for the TC head? Any reason behind this thinking, or just fancied a change? I have a Kustom KXB 500 that i absolutely love. I swapped my PUMA for it and haven't looked back. I live in Bridgend, if you want a go of that, you'd be welcome
