1.
Didn't Jeff Buckley have six octaves?
It's not what you've got, it's how you use it.... I'm a massive Jeff Buckley fan too. "Lover you should have come over" is in my top 5 songs list Which has me thinking....
2. Just watched the video of them them playing Live Aid. Brilliant. Not particularly a Queen fan, but i loved it. I know that was the original point, but thank you
3.
Are the rosewood pickup covers ' covered ' like EMG's or are the pole pieces exposed like normal J pickups ?
Yes they're completely covered. I'll take some photos of the bass with the rosewood covers on tonight
4. Cheers Karl I agree, think it looks great. Plays so well too. Amazing bass for £550!!!
5. OBBM for all your lead and cable needs. Well, for mine anyway
6. New pictures BUMP
7. Just sold a bass to Rob Easy transaction. Excellent comms. Very patient regarding the couriers poor delivery! Wouldn't hesitate to do business again. Cheers bud
8. And come out the other end with a significantly lighter wallet
9. I spent four hours odd in there about a year ago. Prepare to go down the rabbit hole!
10. Get in there Lew. Well worth a visit
11. A unbranded bass in cherryburst. Like you, didn't realise how terrible it was. Played that thing in various punk bands for two years though!
12. Like the look of that!! Seems a good price too. Think a full review is needed....
13. Start of the week bump. Not looking for trades on this. Thanks
14.
Talented guy, but not relevant to me. I'm restricted to the greats from my generation. McCartney Joco, Prestia, Graham, Chuck Rainy, Weeks etc.. Blue
Why are you restricted? Is that self imposed? I get why it's not to everyones taste, the triplets and general flashiness etc. But that's often in a setting when he is being asked to sell something or show something off. If you can do all the flash stuff, there's a very good chance you can sit in the groove. Vic can do that too. Unbelievably talented player
15. weekend bump
16. Thanks Marc £500+ saving on a mint condition bass less than a year old....
17. Few enquiries, so i'll answer the questions here: It will come in a really high quality padded gig bag. It is active, but has the option to go passive Not sure how old it is, maybe Spyder could help? But it is pristine. Not a mark on it Cheers
18. Black for me
19. Based in South Wales. As Marc (spyder) said, it's a brilliant bass. Set up with a beautifully low action at the minute thanks to Marc
20. Bought this recently off Spyder for a crazy low price of £550. Here is the advert: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2986299 I've wanted to get into jazz basses, i like the slimmer necks, but i cant. I just prefer the sound of a Precision. You may or may not have noticed me selling all my jazz basses recently. I'd heard how good these basses were, and wanted to try them, so i thought i'd give jazzes one more go. Wasn't for me. Decided to spec out a Precision with a jazz neck instead. This bass weighs 8lbs 1 Has Nitro paint The Haussel pickups give it a real vintage vibe. I have the original rosewood pickup covers that i will include in the sale. The Glockenlang 2 Band EQ is really useable. Huge variety of tones. Love the push/pull option to turn it into passive mode. Here are a few pictures: Not going to try and make money off this, even though as Spyder says in the original advert, it cost +£1000, and is in mint condition. But it is a firm £550. Don't make me an offer, not interested in trades. Its a absolute bargain for £550. Just realised i used it for two of the bass noodle entries i made, so although this isn't the bass in a mix where it excels, here are some of the sounds the bass is capable of: https://soundcloud.c...a-fied/noodle-3 https://soundcloud.c...a-fied/noodle-2 Both are pretty much recorded DI'd. The "noodle 3" has a slight boost on bass and treble. Minimal amounts and could have probably been done with the onboard EQ, but i didn't record them with the intention of using them to sell the bass. Noodle 2 has a minimal amount of reverb added Come and try it by all means I'll throw in a cup of coffee and biscuit. I will courier at buyers cost and risk, or i'm happy to use buyers choice of courier. Any questions and i'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks
21. AND SOLD
22.
well, i decided to record and upload what i had in mind. (its here) I pressed record on my DAW, pressed record on my looper (which started the hihat sound i use for a metronome), recorded the loop, and set it to repeat, then changed some pedal settings and started playing over the top. The only edits i made in post where to cut out the silence at the start, and cut the tails down at the end so it was under 1min. No edits done to any time i was playing a note. I'll enter it if people are okay with that, but don't want to ruin this for others so am happy to withdraw it if popular opinion deams so.
I liked that! Very . . . atmospheric! Strong first noodle I was only joking before too. Don't know if that came across. All healthy discussion with regards to what can and cant be allowed. Might join you with a looped noodle this month, just in case they do get banned by the hierarchy next month
23. Usually the person putting the bitsa together, puts it together with some specific use/sound in mind. If you don't find someone who thinks its a good mix too, you may struggle to get anywhere near the value you put in. A lot of people will pay extra for certain "badges". If yours doesn't have a badge, you're already at a disadvantage. When i sold a bitsa i put together it ended up selling for less than half the money i had spent on parts. Maybe i was unlucky/stupid for letting it go for that price? Dunno, but that is my experience. If you like it, and don't need to get rid, keep it. Or at least have a minimum price you'll take and don't allow yourself to take less.
