3.
That was mine and I kinda regretted selling it, as it looks awesome! I really loved the neck on it. Glad you're enjoying it! Im tempted to get myself a California J when I have some money sorted.
Twas indeed yours Geoff - I'm really glad you sold it
4. I'd crawl over broken glass and dog poo to collect this if I had the mahoney
5. I really enjoyed playing this last night - beautiful tone and fantastic playability. Nice one Russ.
6. Thanks Russ - your P is a real find mate. Sounded fantastic and just the right amount of mojo (if there is such a thing)
7. Somebody buy this soon - I can't stop looking at it....and it's only 2 miles away from me AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
8. Years ago when I bought my first LMII from Electromusic in Doncaster, the guy handed me a Sandberg to try the amp with and I turned my nose up at it. Boy was I surprised when I plugged it in and played it - it was fantastic and I've wanted one ever since. A coupla weeks ago I bought this off another BCer and I love it - it's a superb bass. Hope the person who took the photo doesn't mind me using it.
9. I've played this - it's a stunning bass in every respect and Cameron's is as fine a chap as you're ever likely to meet. Buy with complete confidence
10. I know Mike and I'm sure he could launch it on his bow and hit Vienna no problem. Robin Hood pffff
11. This is crazy - what a bass for the money
12. Keep me abreast of developments - it'd be great to meet you
13. Shall I bring a brush and some emulsion?
14. Keep 'em out until Tuesday night Pedro
15. As always the voice of reason Michael but Rich is right, I am a dickhead and proud.
16.
Please name names as I've so far only found one available on the whole forum and that was some time ago!
Peter Purvis - Tommy Cooper and Nana Moussaka
17.
i'd never buy a sadowsky metro, the name bears too close a relation to a crappy car that should have died when the 80's did
You probably will never be able to afford one.
18. Mine was a serious offer - waddya think?
19.
No nut ill give you £400 for yours without the strings?
Pieces of eight ...pieces of eight
20. I have a nice Sadowsky Metro PJ4 - I paid £950 for it but I've pit some DR Sunbeams on it so it's probably worth about £1600 now. I'll swap with you - I can drive down sarf the day after tomorrow so if you're agreeable, I'll C U Next Tuesday?
21. I don't think there's much risk with yours Russ - it's not costing much more than a new US Precision and I'm sure it'll be a good working bass. It's the really battered ones costing thousands I don't understand.
22. I don't get 'old is better' from a tone / playability point of view - bad basses made in the 60s/70s are still bad basses today. Granted, there will be some sublime instruments amongst them but some old Fenders I've seen / played costing thousands where absolutely bloody awful.
23. How much?
24. I'm thinking of having mine serviced before I start gigging again - do Ashdown have a standard charge for a service? Anyone care to divulge said charge?
