Hi Alan, are you after one of the earlier 15mm models like Peter's, or one of the more recent 18mm 5's? I'll keep a lookout for you...
Hi Rich, I'd prefer wider string spacing but being a guitarist I'm ok with tight spacing. Thanks mate

My good friend GreeneKing stayed at my house last night and brought his Status Empathy Headless 5 (bastard ) and now I want one. So - I know it's a long shot, but I'd like to trade this pristine 2009 US P5 + cash (but not too much) for a nice headless five string Status. This bass is completey unmarked with no issues whatsoever and is an absolute joy to play - the action is ridiculously low for a Fender and there's no buzzing. It's currently strung with a newish set of Ernie Ball 45-130. It does not come in a case (the previous owner kept it) but I have a nice Body Glove thingy that does just as good a job. If no suitable trades come up, I'll also sell it for £700 + delivery. Apologies for the pics not being my usual standard but the light is grim up t'North this morning.

Thanks everyone - just to answer a few questions, none of us have any stage craft as you can see in the vid though in our defence, it was about 2am on a Satuday morning when that was filmed and we were all fooked. All the stuff we play is up tempo, foot stomping stuff and can be danced to but TBH, unless you're a blueser, it all sounds the same. I'm gonna talk to the other guys today and get back to y'all.
Sorry Al, but I think that a blues band at a corporate do is a square peg in a round hole. Like our chicago blues band at a wedding reception! We were very good but still, predictably, died a death!! A good band and good players can't cover the fact that it's the wrong genre. Hope I'm wrong.
That's exactly my point Chris
Hmmmm.... much as I like the blues I'm not enough of an addict to go see a whole night of it. I've been to some blues doos that where every song sounds the same (to me). On the other hand, I've seen some very entertaining blues bands where it isn't all about twenty minute solos. Anyway, you know which you are. You know if you appeal to "ordinary" punters. If the latter stop it with the negative talk and go do the gig. You have no idea how it's going to go unless you have a crack at it. What's the worst than can happen.... seriously??
We're more like the former - I'm not really a blues afficionado and have been known to fall asleep mid solo. Seriously, I've only done 4 blues festivals with 'em and they've all been great gigs - especially Carlisle, and a couple of pub gigs which weren't so good. It's definitely a Marmite band and given that all our songs are dominated by the harp sound - they all sound pretty similar.
hmmm... don't know about this. Try and find out what it is for.. and annual dinner and dance with board members dressed upto the 9's then no, but a company jolly with younger guys wanting to splash some cash, then maybe. IMO.
TBH I'm really unhappy about this because I do this for the fun of it - money doesn't come into it for me and I'd gig for nothing if I was having fun. Dying on stage in front of x00 people is not my idea of fun regardless of how much money is paid. I did a lot of corporate gigs with my last band who played soul so I have a good idea how these things go. This band is so wrong. We're rehearsing tomorrow so I'll be voicing my concerns
Your band sounds great, Edited to add: You need a baseball cap too to match your bandmates!
Thanks fella - we do sound a lot better than that in real life. I can't see the vid - I'm at work and the IT Gestapo block Youtube vids but it was recorded on a mobile phone so probably sounds sh*te. As regards the hat - if I put a baseball hat on, I look like I'm on one of those outings where someone should be holding my hand.
Ta.. not just mine though lots of BCers play weddings and added to the thread. Re hats. That's a blues harp player's Bakerboy or Newsboy cap that Mr Dog is wearing. I think Homer needs a bass players hat.
See above
Mmm, can't help agreeing with OG here - having seen the clip above it might not be the kind of blues the corporate market will relish.
Yep - that's the point Chris

Yeh yeh yeh..I hear what you're all saying but you don't know our band. Every song goes...intro...harp solo....verse...harp solo....guitar solo....harp and guitar solo...verse...harp solo....guitar solo....harp and guitar solo...break for lunch......harp solo....guitar solo....harp and guitar solo...end.

My blues band OV8 went down a storm at the recent Carlisle Blues Festival and the gigs are literally pouring in. We're what I'd call a proper Chicago blues band fronted by a guy who goes by the name of Junkhouse Dog and for the last two years he's been British Harmonica champion - dunno where you get the title but he's amazing anyway. There's no plan or set list when we go on stage, we just go for it hopefully in the same key and most of the time it works and we always go down really well.....with blues audiences. So, one of these gigs we've been asked to do on the back of this is a corporate function - city centre Manchester (groan) in two weeks time for quite a lot of money - about 5 times what we'd normally get paid which is nice but a rough and ready blues band at a corporate function? Are they mad? The other worrying thing is they've asked us to learn a couple of songs including Money (Beatles) and ...wait for it.....Must Hang Sally FFS Are they really mad? I think we'll go down like whaleshit but what the hell, we'll take the money and run.
No interests? I forgot to mention the bass comes with the usual allen key's too bumping for interests hopefully *sobs* Is the price too high or just simply bad timing?
Hi erisu, I have a simplistic view of selling basses and the prices people ask for them. You can sell anything on here if the price is right, if it doesn't sell the price isn't right. This is a cracking bass and I'd really love to own it myself - I'm sure it's worth every penny but with things being the way they are, if you want to sell it, you have to pitch it at the right price.
