1. I've only ever used Total Numpty Transport and haven't experienced any problems apart from their refusal to carry basses for me in the future even fully insured cos "they might break it".
2. Yep - get another soon cos two GS112s and a good head makes a superb rig that'll do just about anything IME.
3. I'm not normally a fan of relic'd basses but that's nice - love the colour Clarky.
4. At the recent McBash in Moffat, we were A/Bing different cabs and heads - there was a load of different stuff including Markbass, EA, TC Electronics and a Barefaced Compact. I don't mean to blow my own trumpet but at the end of the day, everyone was blown away with my rig (AG500 + one GS112). That said, each to his own but the GS112 is an amazing cab especially with the right head.
5. Delanos are excellent pickups in my experience - but, remember my Aguilar offer bud
6. A fine pair Pete - loving Ol' Spunky
7. You did a great job Si

Just bought a nice Reggie Hamilton off Chris and it was a pleasure to deal with him. It was exactly as described and there was excellent, prompt communication throughout. Nice one Chris Edit for typo.
9. I'm getting one for Christmas - aside from the cool looks, howzit sound?
10. I did wonder at first Si - I instantly loved the look, feel and playability of the bass but I found myself constantly knob twiddling to find a sound I liked. It was the pups and it's amazing the difference the Wizards have made. I love it to bits.
11. Had a beer with my mate yesterday at The Rose of Mossley in Liverpool - we were reminiscing about the time we did a gig in the hall next door (now demolished) for the youth club . It was about 1970 - but my mate kept the pictures (taken on an Instamatic) - I wish I was this slim now...
12.
Alan, any news? Peter
If you mean about my plans to buy a Status Pedro then it's bad news. Out of the goodness of my heart I let the cat sleep in the other night cos it was so cold. The bitch pissed all over the couch in Hazel's consulting room so my funds have been diverted elsewhere. Got a Reggie Hamilton arriving today as a back up to the Shuker. Fooking cats.
13. Yeh - you gave me some great advice as always Steve . BTW, who's the tasty bird in your avatar?
14. Thanks Dave but to be honest I'm dreading it. We did a gig last night in a trendy cocktail establishment in Manchester and we played really well but the audience didn't get it at all.
15. They were switchable Dual Coils. I'm not slagging them off - they may be good pick ups but they didn't give me the sound I like with this particular bass.
16. Thanks Eude - you made it sound much better than I can
17. That's just filthy  - I never had you down as a P man
18. Best ring Andy - he's a great guy and a lot of help. I won't buy pickups anywhere else now.
19. I have two GS112s - my third set - I keep coming back to them for a good reason. You can do small gigs with one, I did a gig in a room with about 100 people in with my six piece band (very loud drummer) with just one cab and it coped admirably. Two GS112s will handle just about everything and there's no problem with a low B at all. Sure, they are a little mid-scooped but then, you have EQ to adjust that so no problem there. There's no need to worry about using an LMK with one cab because I'm pretty sure your LMK is only putting out 300 watts max @ 8ohms anyway and the cab will handle that. Edit - I'm only 30 mins up the M61 if you want to try mine or you can hear / try them at my band rehearsal in Chorley on a Sunday afternoon.
20. The day I sell this is the day I stop playing bass Paul
21. I'm not known for keeping basses very long but I've had my Shuker for about 5 or 6 months now and my love grows stronger every day. At first I wasn't sure about the tone of the thing, it seemed very bright with not much bottom end and so I used to boost the bass and mids almost all the way to compensate. I spoke to Jon about it and he recommended changing the Nordstrand pups for something else and made a few recommendations that would slot right in the existing routs. In the end, I decided to get some custom wound Wizards made - they were half the price of the Nordstrands but I'm so glad I did. I've had them in for about 3 months now and they've absolutely transformed the instrument sonically - now it's tight and punchy with superb top and bottom end - the B string is unbelievably clear for a 34" scale and would put a lot of 35"ers to shame. I can't fault this bass at all - it's a joy to play, looks the biz, stays in tune and fook me, it sings through my Aguilar rig. I was never really one for custom made basses but one of the main advantages for me is being able to meet and talk with the maker and Jon is great to deal with. If I need anything doing, he's only an hour away and the standard of his work is a joy to behold, he doesn't ask for much money either. Anyway, had to share that with ya - reverse rant over....and no, it won't be up for sale next week or for a long time after.
22. Played a trendy cocktail bar in Manchester last night called the Gin Club. I was feeling a bit apprehensive about this one because a. it's a student hangout on a Thursday night and we're a rough and ready proper blues band and b. it's unnerving for a Scouser to be so deep into Manchester. Have to say, we played brilliantly but they didn't get it at all. I spent all night looking and smiling at the three girls sat staring at us with expressions that reminded me of my girls when they were that age. dads with teenage girls know that look - the one that says..."what's that all about ...pfff". Feeling sh*te today but pleased cos I'm so happy with my gear at the moment and I feel a weight's been taken off my shoulders.
23. +1 for Lo Riders in those circumstances.
