Chris recently bought my Squier Mustang bass, super easy deal, lovely guy! Cheers bud Si
  3. Right, having been solidly 'out' of this thing that I started a while ago.....once I've sold my Lakland 55-02, and purchased a 55-01.......I'm done and will be starting another of my self-imposed '6 months or longer' abstinence stretches. Wish me luck haha. Si

    SOLD

SOLD This is my 2006 Korean built Skyline 55-02 Deluxe (LH-3 pickups/Preamp). This came to me as part of a part-ex, and though it’s very nice (re-ignited my love for sunburst), it’s a bit too heavy for me at 10.3lbs. It actually balances really well, but most of my gigs are 2+ hours. Body is in great condition, no chips or marks, but some swirling as you’d expect on a bass of this age. Neck is in good condition, a couple of indentations, but nothing that inhibits playing of course, nothing through the finish etc. It comes with a Fender Hardcaxe which is solid, but has some damage to one edge and general gig wear. The damage is taped up so I don’t know the extent (it came to me like this), but fine enough case. All patches work well. SOLD Would prefer collection/meet-up from Amersham/Wycombe areas, but we can discuss shipping at your cost and liability. Try me on part-ex’s, but largely cash wanted, although particularly interested in a Skyline 55-01 with a rosewood board sub 9.5lbs. Cheers Si
  5. Wonder if this is my old one (from maybe 18 years ago). Can’t be too many of these in the UK and I had one fretted and one fretless (same finish). Anyway, GLWTS Si
  6. Still early doors on a lot of that stuff as far as I know. Business as usual/before for now, but that may change in the future. Cheers Si
  7. Correct, Sequential are now part of the Focusrite Group, which is nice haha. Unfortunately I've not tried one yet, Sequential are of course still based in the US and so I haven't seen one in the UK office yet, REALLY want to try one though. Si
  8. SOLD Hi all, Continuing my little clear-out, I have my excellent CV Squier Mustang Bass for sale. It comes strung with La Bella Mustang Flats, as well as a very good Gruv Gear Edge gig bag. It's a guitar bag, but the Mustang fits perfectly in it, so none of that pesky wasted space. £350 Everything is in excellent condition and I'm only selling as it was serving as a backup to my Serek. I would prefer for a collection/meet-up from Amersham/High Wycombe/Hemel areas, however we could discuss postage at your cost and liability. Cheers Si
  9. Don't discount a well-setup bass too. An analogue Octaver requires a nice clean note to latch onto, hence why people suggest using neck, pickups etc. Rounder, bigger tone for the pedal to grab. Similarly, a buzzy neck will stop an octaver from having a solid no to track. So if you're running a bridge pickup and a low/buzzy action....you're not going to get decent tracking. Si
  10. That’s exactly what Lakland have said, if it’s a 20 or 21 serial number, it’s Rosewood! Si

    SOLD

Probably last bump with a one and only reduction to £1650. If no bite, it will likely be sold/part-ex'd elsewhere! Cheers Si
  12. Assuming you wanted the bass, would you buy a 5 string that weighed 10.4lbs?

I regularly carry anything up to 16kg on my shoulder, so 4.7kg (10.4lbs) probably wouldn't be an issue for me.

Thanks all, it’s been interesting to see a range of opinions on this. Think I’m sorted now 🙂

  13. Thought I was going to be able to buy back my old Lakland 55-01, but the guy I sold it to (who said he would sell it), is currently ghosting me! Lame! Si
  14. Fair enough, helpful to know, cheers! Si
  15. I think I am leaning now to this being Laurel, however it's possible they've had this for a while and it arrived before Rosewood was such an issue. Si
  16. Indeed, however they were Rosewood before the change over. So it's conceivable it could be either. Si
  17. Thoughts? Is it Indian Rosewood or Indian Laurel? Shop says it's Rosewood......but thought I'd get some other thoughts. Cheers all Si
  18. If I've understood you correctly, it's a shame that you can't mix the P's and the Mudbucker. I like the idea of the bass for sure, I'd like to see a refined non-signature version perhaps. Single 'normal' P and mudbucker (with the switch going between/blending those) and tidying up the ridiculous fingerboard guff.... I mean who, other than Mr Watt, has double dots on the 5th fret, three on the 12th fret, two on the 17th and wording on the 19th fret? Silly. Anyway, sounds good at least haha, will be awesome with La Bella flats!! Si
  19. Really cool! Si
  20. @ped Have we lost the Bump feature on sales posts? Also can’t seem to see the mods/admin forums now. Si
  21. Does it have to be Fender? If so (which is fine of course), I'd go Japanese or Limelight. Si
  22. Yes Guitar Northwest are great. I had a Precision neck from them for a parts project and it was excellent. They were also very friendly and helpful over email. Si

    SOLD

The Lakland website is pretty diabolical, there’s been all sorts of customs runs and Ltd editions etc. For a while they were offering any colour options on the Classics (which typically are just sunburst I think!?). Si
  24. Probably not, and that’s the fun of it 😊 My top Precisions at the moment are: ModernVintage Moollon Lakland That’s not including my ‘71 Precision, because that’s just the OG obviously! I’ve tried Olinto’s, but only at a trade show, so I’d really like to get one on a few gigs! One day! Si
