1.
I'd only need one.... Akai SB-1 I cannot live without this.
I'm surprised by how little I miss mine. But selling it meant I could get the Steve Harris Precision, so it was a decent trade off.
2.
Just 4 basses? Didn't think that was possible
hahaha Adam Yauch looks most bemused!
3.
Hey Basically, to cut a long story short. After buying the Steve Harris signature Precision Bass last month, I have decided to now get another Fender Precision Bass to pair up with it.
I haven't had experience of the bass but I'm planning to get one too. I'd also throw on a Bad Ass II and SPB-1!! The SH P has totally changed my mind about precisions and I now must have another.
4. I could just stick with what I've got now: PolyTune ---> Trace Elliot Quad Chorus ---> MXR Blowtorch ---> Sansamp Programable BDDI ---> poweramp But in the interests of having 8 pedals (not sure about the sequence): PolyTune ---> Mark Bass Super Synth ---> Mark Bass Chorus Flanger ---> Earthbound Supercollider (or Centurion) ---> MXR Blowtorch ---> Boss DD7 ---> Digitech Bass Whammy ---> Sansamp Programable BDDI ---> poweramp
5. Not such a good place to gig if you're a bassist who uses a pedalboard! :-D
6.
I'd literally just found that myself - looks perfect. Manual says centre pin is negative, so I guess I'll order one up and see if it works. Thanks!
Let me know what it's like. I've just snapped the plastic earth pin off my TE power supply. For the time being I'll just gaffa tape the plug into an extension lead...
7. How about this? I'm fortunate enough to have the TE power supply with my Quad Chorus.
8. Here's my much abused Aria: It's the second bass I ever bought. Part-ex'd an Aria Cardinal bass, a flanger and a vesta fire distortion +£80 for it in 1989. I'm considering getting it restored back to how it should be. Just need to find someone who can do it.
9.
Did you read his interview in BGM a few months ago. He claimed that his heavy drinking never effected his playing. I think perhaps it might have occasionally.
Maybe he hadn't drunk heavily enough on that occasion...
10. They've been bought by another company: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=86456
11. Nice and simple (and cheap, the case is an old chef's knives case) Velcro and 18v wiring arriving this week.
12.
The Singer 1/6. The exploration begins with the head, heart and voice of the group, the singer.
Not sure I agree with that description...
13. Yep, I use them a lot. Slow stuff or fast stuff. Pull off and hammer ons frees the right hand to reach for your pint.
14. To get me playing: John Entwistle Steve Harris Cliff Burton Billy Sheehan James Jamerson To keep me playing: Justin Chancellor Les Claypool JJ Burnel Youth Raven
15. My early 80s Squire Precision sounds nicer and plays nicer than most recent Fender Precisions I've tried. Of course, that's just my opinion. Do I wish it was a real Fender? No, I have one of those too...
16. Not much to say really, yes. I know it's Behringer... But it's a tuner and rackmountable... Oh it also is a light!
17. They're actually pretty sturdy. The switch seems no different to any other switch on any other pedal.
18. TOOL's Lateralus changes from 9/8 to 8/8 to 7/8...
19.
Fantastic - don't bother using my rack tuner at all anymore!
I agree, they're brilliant! We discovered why the guitarist has trouble tuning. As he turns a machinehead the neck on his custom Gibson SG shifts so all the other strings go out of tune. He's got small hands so he had his SG made with a really skinny neck profile.
20. Currently my effects set up is: PolyTune ---> Sansamp Programmable BDDI (all 3 channels with various amounts of drive) ---> Trace Elliot Quad Chorus The band I've joined used to be a 5 piece but is currently a 4 piece, the other guitarist left just before I joined. I've been experimenting with other effects to fill out the sound during solos. Tried some distortions, my modified Cry-Baby, and an octave. I think my next purchase will be a better octave, currently planning on an EBS OctaBass. But I'm seriously tempted by a Tech 21 Red Ripper...
21.
does it come with built in stomach?!
I knew someone would comment! It's actually the bottom of my ribcage, not that your going to believe me.. I don't have a big bloaty stomach anymore, I've lost 3 1/2 stone in a year!
I've just noticed that you can't see the 'B' on th shirt in either bassistclem or bartelby's pics either. Tee Hee
Damn it! Maybe I won't wear it to the pub this evening!!
22.
Mine arrived this morning too - same colour scheme. I like it, my teen daughter just laughed condescendingly at me
Same here! Same colour, but my 2 month old daughter burst into tears when she saw it. I guess she was overcome with emotions by the sight of such a beautiful shirt... (me, distracted by the Le Mans 24hr bikes)
23. Not a bass but I got a Kat Midi Kiti Pro drum trigger to midi module for £15.
24. A black Aria Pro II Cardinal deluxe A Laney 30w Linebacker A Vesta Fire DST and some kind of flanger. I traded all but the amp in for my SB Elite, that I still have.
25.
There's no neck dive with my Steve Harris P using a Mono padded strap.
There's no neck dive, but the strap did slip off my shoulder twice on Friday night...
