1. Listen to some NoMeansNo. Rob Wright uses a Marshall guitar stack. It sounds great. And for the inverse K.K. Null (Zeni Geva) used to play guitar through an octaver, then split the signal with a cross-over. The lows went to a Trace Elliot with a 4x10 and the highs went to a Marshall stack.
2. I changed the LED in a cheapy Dan Electro distortion, from small red to large-ish white. I swear it added shed loads of noise to the signal. Haven't bothered to change it back though to see...
3.
Thank you! I hope you don't practise in front of the telly, mate - it doesn't count, you know!
It doesn't? Don't worry, it was merely for show.
4. Here you go guys. If you want to see here's me, my bass with the 2.75" strap. The 3.75" ones are a touch more comfortable, but about £10 more.
5. Is that a waynepunkdude sig. bass behind?

8. Just managed 47 seconds an got bored! I'm a bit of a Sheehan fan, I love Niacin, the first DLR album was great, as was the first Mr Big album. But that video is just clichéd and dull. I'm wondering if Paul Gilbert is listening to something interesting on those big headphones...
9.
Looks comfy, thanks! Is that kinda suede-y underneath?
It is indeed! 3 out of 5 of my basses have these straps (my 5 string has a 3.75" width one as it's heavy), the other 2 basses will get one each soon.
10. I had the same problem but switched to one of these and it's not been an issue since. They're wide and 2 layer soft leather, so they're nice an comfortable.
11. I'm not clicking play! Are there any drills involved?
12. I've never really liked Precisions. They just felt too clunky, sloppy and meh! I've used old and new Fenders and for the last 13 years had an 80s Squire '62 reissue, but I could never get on with any of them. Until very recently! Over the years, with the Squire, I've tried changing brands/types of strings, changing the action and such. Then last week I ordered a set of Steve Harris Rotosounds. Stuck the strings on, reset the action and suddenly the bass was lovely! There was decent tension on the strings and they rang nicely, without the harsh highs I'd heard for years. I took it to the first practice of a band I've just joined and was in disbelief at how good it sounded and played! There are still a couple of issues, like the bridge is knackered (the strings are misaligned) and the pickup is falling apart. But I've decided to invest in a new bridge and pickup next month and see how we go from there. Of course, I know where this is heading. Despite not liking Precisions I've wanted a Steve Harris sig. bass for a couple of years...
13. That's one dull looking bass! When I think if Trujillo I still think of Tobias basses...
14. Unfortunately I had to scrap the amp before the first reply in this thread. I've been having building work done in the house and it had to go before the work started. The builders had a cancellation and brought our date forward. Sorry for the slackness in responding.
15. I've got a slightly battered Laney Linebacker 30, with Celestion 10" speaker, that needs to go. If any one wants it and can pick it up from Newport, South Wales they can have it. If no-one wants it then it'll be chucked away. I'll post photos if needed. thanks.
16. Ooh, Pre "Zoon" era Fields Of The Nephilim would be good!
17.
The Sisters of Mercy

Good choice imo
It could be a good choice, depending on which incarnation.
18. Depending on my mood: Opeth, Clutch, Red Sparowes, SunnO))), TOOL, Fugazi, Einstürzende Neubauten or Iron Maiden...
19. The Warwick Corvette Proline I got fro £150 recently and many years back an Aria SB Elite for £80
20. Hmmm, Looks an easy enough mod, the BassBalls has just become interesting to me. May start looking out for one on ebay...
21.
They're in Warwick right?
Yep. Last time I was up at my parent's, in Coventry, I went over to Bass Direct. Only to discover it was closed for the week...
22.
I wouldn´t even hang a towel on anything MDF... but then again I work with the crap everyday and know that it holds no decent screw... good luck.
It was only an idea, that quickly turned out to be a bad one. Looking into other methods now.
