1.
Stunning bass!! Invest in some strap locks.
Already done
excellent then! Where can i get one for less than £900? I was only aware that they were around for like £1200!! GAS building... haha
See post #20
 2. It's a new one. Royal Blue Metallic with an SPB-1.
 3.
Get one the late 70's 'body builder' 11lb P Basses - no neck dive on those!
That's about what it weighs!
 4. There's no neck dive with my Steve Harris P using a Mono padded strap.
 5.
Sweet, is there a difference in weight to other P's?
I don't have a Fender to compare with, but this one weighs somewhere between 10.5 lbs and 11 lbs. Maybe someone else with a P can give a comparison.
 6.
What's the best price on these? I was thinking of an investment.... I've seen £879.
I got mine for £849 (plus £10 P&P) from GAK. Soundslive also have it for £849. Digital Village are advertising at £849 but 3-12 working days delivery.
 7.
A friend of mine popped into Bass Direct yesterday for a look round and came out with a Roscoe CS4. It is indeed a dangerous place for the GAS-afflicted.
Which one did he get? The black one with a maple fretboard was stunning!
 8. For a totally non-judgmental shop, I popped into Bass Direct yesterday. What a fantastic place!! Bloody dangerous though, I went in for a strap and strap locks and nearly came way with those and a couple of EBS pedals! I managed to keep my focus though. Mark left me to have a look around whilst he finished some paperwork. The selection of basses is incredible. I'm very taken with Dingwall basses. Had a nice chat with Mark as he sorted out my purchases. I'll definitely be purchasing stuff from there in future, just need to save rather a lot first!
 9.
You do of course realise that you're gonna spend the rest of your days keeping that scratchplate shiny!
I realised that earlier today
Very nice indeed. I like the maple against that body colour and I should have shares in Badass the way I heap praise on them. Will it buy me a pint of Guiness in the White Horse , Wakefield like the real Steve Harris did??
It looks even better in real life... I don't think it would buy you a pint, it hasn't got any money after paying for itself...
 10.
Is the badass not filed?
It is filed.
 11. Managed a couple of detail shots before the battery died in my camera: Headstock front and back Badass II bridge, and this gives you a decent idea of the finish. Close up it looks like Lake Placid Blue with a blue metal flake. For some reason the SH sig. strings on this feel different to the SH sig. strings on my Squier Precision...
 12.
AC/DC, surely?
I was thinking Throbbing Gristle...
 13. It's really nice and so easy to play! Heavy though, 1/4 of a pound heavier than my 35" scale Ibanez 5 string!! Cue the purchase of another 3.75" soft leather strap...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Official-WEST-HAM-UN...=item2557e45c2b Just need that
Erm. No.
 14. I've been wanting one of these ever since I got hold of Live After Death and saw the photos of Steve with his. After 24, or so, years mine arrived today. I can't wait to play it loud but next band practice is 9 days away!
 15. I use Schaller strap locks. One of my basses has had them one for about 18 years, though they did need replacing about 3 years ago.
 16.
i love the om sound. Shellac are worth checking out to
Oh yeah! The tone on Excellent Italian Greyhound is amazing! and Om as in ex-Sleep? Have you witnessed them live?
 17.
HEATHEN!!!
He's worse than that. I mean look at the bloody paint jobs he does!
 18.
Sorry man I'm just joshing I just have a real dislike for Deans.
s'ok. I know you were messing. I was never a fan of them but I needed a cheap bass and found the Dean. Like I said, I was impressed by if for what I paid. I found it more comfortable to play than a lot of the more expensive basses I've owned.
 19.
Regret that you didn't throw it off of something taller?
Oi! Compared to my knackered Aria (was my main bass at the time) it's bloody lovely to play. For the tiny amount I paid for it I can't fault it.
 20. I just thought: "oh, it's a Warwick dolphin..."

 23. What I think is wrong is no one is selling a bass I want!
 24. I used to do my own with an old slide projector, some slide glass, food colours and paint stripper. It was fun, if a little bit dangerous...
