1.
I'm really curious. fair enough, plenty of sweat but what else?
Skin, rust, maybe some tar from cigarettes, beer... Mainly sweat, Rob does get particularly sweaty during gigs...
  2. title track of my favourite album And my favourite track
  3. Rob is such an under-rated bassist! I'm a big NoMeansNo Fan. I've been listening to them for most of the week. The bass in action a few days ago (muffled sound)
How do people rate the Ring Mod? Anyone know if it's possible to get a sound similar to Conjugal Burns by The Mars Volta? Cheers sorry for all the questions
The ring mod is pretty good. The frequency doesn't go as high as Juan's, but chuck in a bit of vibrato and you get a passable sound.

  6. Megadeth - Clash of the Titans - Brum 1990! I was there...
  7. I take it you found this. http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/kate-bush-babooshka-bass-tab-s40355t5 The tab is a bit wonky as it's across 6 strings...
  8.
There was an excellent exhibition on Heavy Metal and it's birthplace (YVMV) in Brum last year. The show was good and extensive, featured mostly Sabbath and judas Priest and their family trees. They had some of Iommi's backline there but sadly his guitars were represented by a handful of Epiphone SGs. Not a fan of the genre that much - apart from Motorhead - but it was interesting enough.
The Capsule/Supersonic Festival girls organised that (The Home of Heavy Metal). As part of this year's Supersonic Festival they're doing a Black Sabbath walking tour: http://www.supersonicfestival.com/line-up/walking-tour/the-crossroads-of-sabbath
Okay thats good, i dont want to get it only for the better one to be released!
I'm getting frustrated the update hasn't been released yet...
  10. I've just remembered his work as Güero Sin Fe in Brujeria. Good bit of death metal...
  11. The Exchange as well. Run by the guy/s who run The Croft IIRC. The Cooler occasionally puts of decent gigs too.
  12. I love my JJ-500. Prior to that I had Ampeg PF-500 and before that a MarkBass LMII. The Ashdown is by far the best sounding amp I've had. And more reliable than the 2 PF-500s.

You should be able to update the firmware the same way you could update the G3.
  14. Ryan Molloy is a pretty good replacement! I still listen to the 1st FGTH album now and again...
  15.
Does anyone have a circuit for putting an LED on a non-latching footswitch, so that it toggles on and off every time you press it? Edit: After doing a bit of research, what I need is apparently called a 'flip-flop' circuit. Presumably named after its French inventor, Phillipe Phelope :-)
Any good?
  16. Can anyone tell me what bass Billy has at 3:00 in this. I'm pretty sure it's one of his Zons, but this is the one with the odd frets. Found a nice 75 min live video: (keyboard issues at the beginning)
  17. Another Billy Fan here. Saw them twice on the Real Thing and Angel Dust tours*. I love his playing. Here he is dressed as bee As an aside, if I could sing like anyone it'd be Mike Patton (not that this clip is a good example to use of him). *when tours were actual tours and not just 2 massive gigs in London and Manchester
  18. On my current playlist are: Goat Gnod Grey Daturas Oneida Oren Ambarchi & Serpentina Satelite
  19. That bridge looks just like the one I took a dremel to.
  20.
I like it too. Would be even better corvette shaped and with two P pickups (preferably Di Marzio) though.
I'm sure, for a medium sized fortune, Warwick can knock you up a custom bass...
  21.
That's good man! I do too, and I've had a fabulous response to Kit's ep. But I think these are the exceptions, the Recording section, and the Show us Your Vids thread get few responses to postings, unless it's some sort of technical fireworks or a Jaco cover
I guess I'm a bit guilty of not leaving replies. I'm just listening to Kit's ep. I really like it. Always on the look out for something with a melody and tune to offset all the DOOM/Drone I listen too!
  22.
but will we head over to the BC Recording section and listen to BCers' bands?
Yes. And go and see them if I can. There are 4 BCers' bands that I listen to pretty much every week. And I've seen ANTA 4 or 5 times now. It's one of the things that keeps me coming to BC, discovering new bands to listen to.
  23.
Interview with Juan is the best one yet. Great work as always.
Just saw the retweet by Juan about it..
