1. Depends how quick a sale you want. The Fender logo is important for some & EBay has seen them go for just shy of £100. That was before the recession though. Depending on condition I'd estimate between £65 - £100
2.
Got a good mind to file the paypal claim now
That's what I did in the end. I won't use them again. Sorry to hear of anothers misfortunes (again!)
That's the shop front of Roqsolid covers - I've always had brilliant service from them.
That's who I use now - use the Basschat search function & you'll hear mainly incredibly positive things
3.
I can't resist seafoam green and wanted a good Jazz so I recently bought Chris Kelly's 1990s Bacchus 62 Jazz
I do like that
4. I'm in agreement with skankdelvar's initial post. As long as you are up front about your needs & goals. I spent 8 months playing with musicians where the drummer wanted to play loads of functions and the singer didn't want anything more than a weekly rehearsal. Ultimately it split the band up. I found it useful getting together and fine tuning my chops, even though traditionally I've always been about getting out & playing live. I bet there are a lot of players in your position. Good luck

XTC

I was at school near Swindon in the very early 80s so XTC were pretty big news. I'm not a huge fan of the 80s but they were a great band
6.
I used to be a critic. Now I just watch and enjoy. Occasionally I'll discuss their performance if I'm with another musician. Mostly I'll try to be positive about everyone I see. It's not easy to play live and anyone who gets out of their bedroom and puts the effort into rehearsing and playing a gig deserves some respect.
Couldn't have put it better myself
7. If you can afford it, have lessons. I'd also recommend just playing with other musicans. Don't worry about if people like different stuff, you'll progress faster playing with other players. At 15yrs old there is plenty of time to find your dream band / players so you may as well learn with some others whilst you are getting yourself up to speed.
8. Adding myself to a long list of people who can't help you with what size Allen key you need, welcome to Basschat
Old/proper Orange stuff has the bass and treble no mid Bandaxall tone stack, which is pretty linear, both in the middle is flat style.
This would be a rare example of me embracing the modern world then because I have my mids on about a 4
Whilst I`ve not used the AD200B, from what I understand the Terrors eq works the same.
All Orange gear appears to work on the same simple set up. If you like it, great, but if not then it isn't for you.
11. Sadly yes, and the resale value is pretty non existent too It may be worth keeping half an eye out on these pages for a general 4x10 flightcase although it'd have to be local as the postage costs have to seriously compromise any potential good deal
12. I think weight is important but not essential. Only one of my Precisions is a bit heavy and it's not a barrier for me using it. Like you say, I've played heavier basses than Precisions. However a good weight is a factor and when considering making a purchase through an online ad the weight on a bass can be the difference in me being prepared to drive X amount of miles to try it out.
13. Or you can host from a photobucket account and just post the direct link. Personal request from me to anyone doing it, please do keep the pics small!
14. As a little twist, they sent out the wrong cover in error this month. The problem was quickly & professionally rectified with my return postage refunded. I've placed a few orders so I know mistakes are rare but it's good to know that when things do go wrong they don't mess about.
15. I've had a bunch of custom made ones done in leather that are long. EBay has a bunch of longer straps for sale in leather. I'm sure most makers would do suede too. Alternatively I bought some wide long straps made of canvas and these don't slip at all -perhaps because they are wider?
16. I think it's a classic side effect of GAS. We want things because we can't afford them. Once you have the cash often you realise that you don't need that extra bass. I don't want for any basses right now but suddenly this week I've been GASing for a huge Orange Rig that I don't need or can't justify. A little bit like indigestion, I hope it'll pass.
17. I'm finally in the rare position where all my basses suit my needs and are tweaked to perfection
18.
Time spent out in the real world gigging & meeting other musicians GREATER THAN Time spent in bedroom widdling over chord changes EQUALS success IMO.
Oh yes +1000
19. Welcome to the forum
20. I have nothing against 5 strings but I like the limitations of 4 strings
21. Welcome to the Terror 500 Club
22. I've used these guys before http://www.theflightcasecompany.com/ and although they take a couple of weeks (custom order) I'd use them again
23. I expect a lot of watchers will be curious Basschatters. I remember the threads when this was being modified Best of luck with the sale
24. No preference from me
25.
Find the best playing Fender/Squire, one that feels right, then save up for some better pickups.
My thoughts exactly & I'm with Doddy on te second hand market
