W.T. Actual F.....is this??????
karlfer replied to the hand of john curley's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I felt bushes in Holland, but it was quite a while ago now.
What scares me is his feedback as a seller is rather good -
Thanks chaps. All PM's replied to, thanks for the interest. To the chap who queried how much I was asking for this bass, well, I have a photo of the invoice, dated Oct 2011. It was £4077, so I reckon it's worth the £1200 it owes me. I do think it's worth a tad more than a (very nice) 00's Japanese Precision and £300. I have cleaned some of it, some still to do. I've put the backplate back on correctly, done some minor set up work, including lining the strings up with the pup poles. Should have done this stuff before the photos. Hey ho. Cheers, Karl.

Advice please, Warwick Wenge fretboard maintainance?
karlfer replied to karlfer's topic in Bass Guitars
Many thanks chaps, much appreciated . I should really have done it when I re-aligned the strings over the pole pieces late last night -
I've not had a Wenge fretboard before. I'm tidying a bass up for sale, one of the things I'd like to do is clean the fretboard. Can anybody advise if lemon oil is used on Wenge, to finish it off? Cheers in anticipation, Karl.
Now that looks like a steal!! Good luck with the sale Karl!!
Cheers Damon
It's got Marvel straplocks too, I use them and they're the best imo' lovely bass Karl. GLWTS mate, probably weighs more than Wigan? ( I jest )
Sorry to disappoint Tom, an almost sylph like 8lb 6ozs

I got this in an upwards trade. Warwick Custom Shop Corvette $$ with LEDs. Issues, missing treble rotary (on it's way from Warwick), I will forward to buyer There is some paint wear on the front. Some headstock chips. It's mucky, it won't be on delivery. Please bear in mind this is a SANDBLASTED finish so the body surface has rivulets in it. For interested parties I will provide a photo of the original invoice for £4077 in 2011. I will also provide a photo of the original delivery note. I did my best to price up all the options yesterday, with yesterday's £/Euro exchange rate and it comes to a scary £6017 . I'm the second owner. It was made for an in a well known rock band, who's 1st three albums went gold. It owes me £1200 cash. It REALLY is not for me, far too much going on. Two pups, vol (pull for passive), blend, mid, treble, bass, two 3 position switches which I guess are series/parallel and, er, summat else DOH, EDIT! Weight, a rather back friendly 8lb 6ozs. TRADES/PART EX. A Barefaced Gen 3 Super Twin is top of the list. Other Barefaced happily considered. Precision, esp 50's style. Please try me. Any trial in Wigan. COURIER. This thing comes in one of those Warwick massive cases, that weigh the same as a Ford Focus. Potential buyers would need to organise their own insured courier. Thanks for looking, Karl.
You wouldn't get away with it in Wigan though
Looking at last nights punters in Wigan, you would have got away with a two hour Smurfs cover set.

The bent up washers are to force the little bump on the washer, into the bottom of the tone rotaries. This is what gives the notch/click, when you turn your tone rotaries, thus holding the tone rotary in place where you set it. The 1st thing I did with mine was 3 coatings of Lemon Oil on the board. Mine is Fender Custom Shop brand Lemon oil. I think the bottle may outlive me. Edited for bloody spelling again!

Hello Ed, just seen this advert. Right folks, Ed is a phenomenal and versatile bassist, who's gear is top drawer and very well looked after. When I got my PUMA from him, I played through this cab and it is simply jaw droppingly good. He's a real nice guy to boot. Congrats on the pregnancy Ed, you weren't showing when I was over Deal with confidence folks. Edited for spelling as usual

All further PM's replied, many thanks. Regarding trade for a Streamliner 600. I should have stated a trade that was relatively local meet up, as I am offering an initially more expensive item. Put another way, It's very cheap and I don't want it to actually cost me more. Blue Lights. Info/quote courtesy of Muzz, cheers fella Hey Karl, Thought I'd give you the heads-up on the LEDS on that Streamliner - I got a set from AgedHorse and had them professionally fitted. Apparently the original build batch of LEDs turned out to be unreliable, hence why AgedHorse will supply them to anyone who asks. Plus he's just an all-round Good Guy. Bottom line is I don't expect the LEDs on that Streamliner to fail. Thought I'd let you let folk know... Cheers, Muzz
I'm going to run a book on when the first one comes up 2nd hand... oddly I reckon it'll sell just as quick as it did new!
Do me a favour John, we ALL know it will be me
Have you got another hankering Karl?
Me Dunc? How very dare you. Looking to get a Streamliner 600 as the 900 is a bit too much for my cabs (alkthough The Bass Whisperer doesn't agree).
What's the blue light issue with these amps?
Ian, as soon as you turn them on, the Volume Police get their blue lights on Seriously though, in the last picture, post #1, you can see the pre amp valves glowing blue. It's not actually the pre amp valves, it's some blue LED's. It's for show, gimmicky. Quite a few Streamliner owners have had these lights stop working, or they work intermittently. Old (or Dark ?) horse on Talkbass knows all the ins/outs as he was one of GB engineers. I've had STR 600 AND 900 and I've not had it happen to me. A friend of mine called David Brosnan (from Leeds) has just replaced all 3 LED's at a cost of under £20. Problem solved. Some owners prefer them without the LED's anyway. I had a chap from Huddersfield want to trade his 600 for my 900. His blue lights promptly failed and I've not heard from him since

So, it's around £300 less than getting a Limelight built for you. It's light. It looks like a fabulous 70's Precision. I knw it will sound great, Limelight seem to use excellent pups. It's got a slimmer nut width than most (but bigger than a Jazz's) same as a Nate Mendel. It's a great buy. For those in the UK that are interested, DON'T HESITATE. Marinus is a really great guy and you will be delighted with the way he deals with couriering a bass. Good luck fella , lovely bass!
Why downgrade? Is it not better to have the power if needed? Not being stupid here, genuinely interested
2 x 200 watt cabs. Despite what The Bass Whisperer says, I would be more comfortable putting 600 watts through them, rather than 900 watts. Although in reality, my Streamliner hasn't been past 9 o'clock on the master, so really, it's all a bit in my mind

Sold. Fender American Signature series Adam Clayton Jazz bass.
karlfer replied to karlfer's topic in Basses For Sale
Unless somebody comes in with something like a Road Worn P and £250, it's most likely to be still here Damon. Unlucky Once again, UK only (in theory). As ever, lot of interest from the continent. So, I will consider it. IF YOU ARE WILLING TO ORGANISE AND PAY FOR YOUR OWN INSURED COURIER, we can talk -

I'm using Streamliner 900 through 2 x Focus 112's. Does it all for me at every gig. So much so I'm looking to "downgrade" to a Streamliner 600. Even against mic'd up drummer, the bloody thing is hardly switched on. Plenty of low end thump, yet Jaco sound always available from short-ish solo intro to one number, and a bit of 'Arry when needed. In 40 years I've played through a LOT of gear, but my little rig just thumps for Britain

Ahem. I believe I was the 1st to receive one, so when club numbers come to being handed out........................... Actually, I've never been no. 1 in anything, bit late to start now

Need to raise funds, BUT I would trade this for a Streamliner 600. So, this one is 900 watts at 4 ohms, 500 watts at 8 ohms. Spec http://www.genzbenz....&sid=675&cid=95 Not perfect cosmetically, but very good. Some scratching on the paintwork. I've not had the "blue lamp issue" on this amp. Gorgeous amp but too 'big' for me. £330 collected from Wigan, £355 insured UK couriered. Any trial in Wigan, thanks for looking, cheers, Karl.

Need to raise some funds, so bargain price (IMO) on this 900 watt (4 ohms) 500 watt (8 ohms) head. Spec http://www.genzbenz....&sid=715&cid=95 Cosmetically reasonable, some scratches etc. NO FEET, they had been removed and the head velcro'd to cab. Bit scratchy on master vol put, but twiddle a few times and it goes away. IF (big if!) I get the time, I'll take the lid off and do some contact cleaner, but I'm not promising. Due to the little niggles, this excellent 900 WATT head is £300 collected from Wigan, £325 UK insured courier. Any trial in Wigan. And yes, it does loud and is probably good for metal! Cheers, Karl.
