1. Next is an advert for an AV57RI Sold folks, many thanks.
 2.
I'm going new simply so I can put a head and cab package together and pay it up monthly. I don't have a great amount of disposable income but I have a steady wage. Nosey parker.
GREAT answer, suck that one up Kert
 3. Cheers Mart, hope everything is ok Sorry Damon, bass on hold
 4.
Sweet looking bass Karl - I'm sure it won't hang around too long at that price. So how many basses have you been through this year?
One shall plead the 5th Pete
Basses?? I think it's only the FSR that survive from ANY of his gear to see the year out!!! I bet there is a pool of seafoam green at the base of his guitar stand as it quietly sweats waiting to be shifted on too lol.
They are all passing strumpets compared to the love of my life Now, back on topic naysayers!
 5. Thank you gents. I see you kindly took me at my word. IE barracking . Whilst Hofner would be very appropriate for one of next years gigs, I refuse point blank to ever play one of those again .
 6.

Shut up Mike
Surely this merits more explanation..? What '50s amp are you using for this new venture..? And what 'period' strings..? I'm glad I'm a drummer; would't want to have to play on a '50s kit..! Are your band mates equally as zealous as you, or are they a sensible lot..? This forum would be the poorer without these topics, though..!
50's STYLE dad, I know you're a drummer but try to pay attention
This breaks my heart Karl... I was hoping you would hang on to this long enough to to shift my bass and get some pennies together. After reading some of the horror stories on these basses, I instantly loved this one when I played it. The pickups are very full, and the neck pickup could almost pass for a p. Neck is very comfy and I have tiny hands, so don't stress about the slightly deeper neck profile. It is reliced quite heavily as you would expect, but it is very light, noticeable after playing his old Adam Clayton. Someone is getting a steal!!!!
Thanks Damon, but the bigger shows aren't until next year and I'm very unlikely to get the trade I'm looking for. So, I'll save up and you can save up . Hope 1st contact was good
Switch to the neck pickup and say it's a '59.
Sadly they know jazzes weren't around in the 50's. It needs to be a P. They would like it to be blue, but that ain't happening
 7. David Konig (Retrovibe) will do a great set up on the basses he supplies. He has a lot of fans. Have a chat with him and tell him Karl recommended his gear, but more importantly, his care and service.
 8.
I'm a bit stuck for words..... not like me I know..... can't you make do with that scruffy thing at the top? (runs and hides)
No Jazzes in the 50's Tom
Phew, easy pay out it was you mate!
Pleased to be of service John. I assume my match fixing cheque is in the post?
 9. Just wondering who got me in John's "book" that he was running Or did he not give odds on me
 10. Save another £30 and do it properly 4 ohm version to get the most out of a head. https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/TRV102P4OHM/bass-cabs/markbass-trv-102-p-4-ohm-traveller-bass-cabinet?LGWCODE=TRV102P4OHM;56375;6335&gclid=COC8-I_Mss4CFRaeGwodmnUGvg
 11. 2016 Fender Flea Jazz. Not really for sale. Due to a new band I need a 50's style Precision. Hope DamonJames will help me out with a testimonial to this bass. It's one of the very light and good ones IMO. I have cleaned off the mucky film they put on the scratchplates. TRADE REQUIRED REALLY. I would VERY much like to give somebody this bass plus some cash for a splendid conditioned Fender American Vintage 57 Reissue Precision. Preferably Sunburst, but any really. Cheers, Karl. 12.
So when you sell it on Wednesday, which bass will be used in the first set next Saturday?! ;-)

I know what you mean; I had to double check it didn't have a battery in mine!
13. Last night, instead of using the Flea both sets, I used it 1st set and returned to my beloved FSR P/J for the second set. Was quite shocked how much more powerful the Flea pups are . I had to significantly turn up the gain and volume to get back to the sound level I'd had with the Flea in the 1st set. I really was rather surprised.
 14. The one Psychoandy has just put up for sale Mark
 15. Good to know I have a heavy plastic anaemic sound . Epic fail after over 40 years of gigging. I must learn more.
 16. TKS 112's didn't work for me. I found them lacking compared to other 112'S I'd used live. They are a bass cab. I expected them to be versatile, like many other bass cabs. I would love to get a custom specced TKS 212 but after my experience gigging the 2 x 112's, it's not something I really want to spend nearly £700 on. Horses for courses, guess I just like Clydesdales
 17.
Hi Karl The label on rear of the driver is a "proper" Genz Benz logo, and states Model : GEC-12200-8 Impedance 8 ohms Engineered and tested in the USA Manufactured by Eminence Dongguan, P.R.C. Great lightweight quality cabs, very pleased with mine. Like you say will keep up with a very loud drummer
Damn Andy, you're good Many thanks for that, cheers, Karl.
 18. I've not used the Ashdowns I'm afraid. No idea what the speakers are, except they are ceramic. Not much use am I . There are quite a few testimonials from users on the Bass Direct site. The 112T's were showing at a price of £339 each, so yes, budget for Genz Benz at the time. But for the scuffs and nicks I would have been asking north of £300 for them. They do not come up very often at all. There is the script below (I've culled some of the talk about heads). Quote. "We’d been asking for less expensive cabinets and combos for the European market for some time, and Genz Benz dutifully obliged at this years NAMM. Such was the success of the new ‘FOCUS’ cabinets, Bass Gear Magazine awarded them a ‘Best in Show’ award, one of only 6 awards that they give out at the show. Here is what they [BGM] had to say on their forum: While I was there, however, I did hear both of the 112's together as well as the new Focus cab line. Very impressive. I predict the Focus cab line will be a huge seller. Even though they're not NEO, they're still very light and can really take the juice and pump out the sound. What really blew me away were the Focus cabs. They sounded like they belonged in a much higher price range, and the light weight and form factor was very nice. We ended up giving Genz-Benz one of our six Best of Show Awards for the Focus line of cabs, and I think they totally deserved it." End quote.
 19. 2 x 112's are strange creatures. I had 2 TKS 112'S and although the sound was lovely, I REALLY had to drive an amp a lot harder to get anything like volume out of those cabs. Our drummer always has snare and kick mic'd up. Both guitards use Blackstar heads with 212's. Never had any problem with 2 x 112's by Berg, Vanderkley or Genz Benz, especially without pa support. Try as much as you can.
 20. Hmm surprisingly only two messages regarding these splendid, light weight, powerful well made cabs. They are replied to. Over to you ED https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urvdCExs2kI
 21. Thanks chaps. The new owner was delighted with it last night Think he was also delighted with getting it for £325
 22.
Thanks Mykesbass - I think this could be very interesting as I know of Band Scrims but mine will be easily fixable & removable plus you can upload your own artwork online once I get the website up-n-running. Here's a pic of what I'm currently testing - excuse the in-yer-face graphics but the object was to make it stand out
Hmmm, might just keep my Genzs with you coming up with this cunning plan.
 23. Lost count of how many times I've seen them. Just wonderful.
 24.
Is that a flea sig jazz? Took delivery of mine today, very nice indeed! Have a off topic bump
Thank you, enjoy yours
I'm sure I used a focus 2x10 for a while a year or two back. Really good for the money I think. These look to be a bit of a bargantino and not at all tatty!
Thanks Andy, sorry, I'm always a little critical of condition of my gear. Only going because a new project demands something vintage looking (as in cloth fronted). Suppose a Barefaced will suffice
