I have to agree with cream or white or anything bright, but only if it has a maple fingerboard, if it's rosewood then I would go for black. Here is what Candy Apple Red looks with a white p/g
Thanks for that GW, some very sweet gear there fella! It is a rosewood board, should have mentioned that. My stupidity comes with the territory of being a prat . Karl. -

Bloody 'ell, I only went for a cuppa! Serious though, thanks guys. Wayne, got me thinking, seem to remember Old Horse Murphy had a Bob Glaub natural with a cream perloid. Mmmm thinks! Ta. -
I have an incoming in Candy Apple Red. Only reds I've had before had the word Fireglow attached. Need some advice/ideas on a good colour scratchplate to go with CAR. So, I don't go a bundle on white. If it was Fiesta Red, I would go straight for tortie. My thoughts are; black black perloid gold anodised brown tortie. Any thoughts would be gratefully accepted, as well as any photo's of your beauties, if you know what I mean . Cheers, Karl.
I've lived less than a mile from the River Severn for the last 30 years, and have never caught a Barbel............
Shame on you, hang your head low . Anyway, listen up! I am going to Bob's on the night of Friday 16th September. Anyone who decides to buy this bass, I can drop it off for you on the M5, between Tewkesbury and the M6, or the M6, from M5/M6 junction, up to Wigan. Anybody buying it north of Wigan can come and collect it from me. Just sayin' in case it will help out a prospective buyer. Thats all . Karl. -
Love the look of it, but the neck looks like a banana to me? Action high enough to kll yourself off, Or is it just my old eyes? Karl.

Fairly sure this enlargement issue has been discussed before on Basschat, as I remember alarm bells ringing at the time. Might have been in tech/repairs. If I get the chance, might do a search tonight. Karl.
The wiki isn't exactly prominent, that menu above the banner is the last place I look for anything.
Now I know where it is! Ta, Karl. -
It came with a Black one??, pretty sure it's fake too, http://www.ebay.com/itm/RICKENBACKER-BASS-...=item27bde949ac
Do they come without the holes for the screws?

Whilst something is available this is reluctantly for sale, to fund the something . EDIT, I'VE BOUGHT THE SOMETHING! As such, now looking at near-ish offers to £650. A sunburst 2004 of the previous series has just sold on FEEBay for £680. 2005 upgraded American series Precision, Black body/plate, maple neck. Excellent condition apart from very light swirling on the back, which can be seen in some light. Hopefully specs attached. Fender hardcase included, which is scuffed but perfectly usable. Trust rod tool, owners book and even the case keys. I am second owner, the original bought it to put bass lines down on his computer. £650 OR near-ish offers. Collection from Wigan, or I will meet you within 40 miles of Wigan at no extra cost,or you can organise a courier to pick it up from my workplace in Sandbach. Gotta go. Cheers, Karl. edited for feedback http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=karlfer

Brilliant Musky, thanks. Thats a significant saving of around £75 over buying in Britain. Only bad bit, gonna have to sell my beautiful USA Precision to fund it . Karl. -
Average import duty amount from the US
karlfer replied to sockdeluxe_mikey's topic in General Discussion
Can anyone give me an idea of cost over and above, ie, import duty, vat, handling charges. Cost of bass about £525, delivery about £65. Cost of same bass in Britain, £838. Any advice gratefully received. The bass I am looking at is so close to my ideal aesthetically/sound wise, that I am very seriously considering putting up my US Precision. Thanks, Karl. -
. Anybody seen one of these in Britain?
