1. Cheers Jacqueslemac. The price is a sad reflection of the market, but, that's good news for buyers. GAK are doing this bass at £749 . Thanks very much for the bump. Karl.
2. Are we there yet Mam?
3. Recently sold an expensive bass, bought 2 cheaper ones, looking for Jazz neck, P sound. Of the 2, the Yamaha Attitude Special, just has one of those necks I can't put down. Hence, selling the Aerodyne. P/J pick ups, export (the more common) version, recently re-strung/set up/serviced by Thomson guitars of Wigan. Added some Creative Cuts "inlay" decals (thanks Silddx) , they just stick on, you can't feel them and they leave no residue if you remove them. They are imitation black abalone, but change colour with the light. This was so I know where I am on the fretboard . Very good condition, 1 little dink on the front, just to the right of the bottom of fretboard. 2 or 3 little dinks on the back, some light swirling on the back, but very difficult to photograph with phone camera (all I've got). So, £400 collected from Wigan including crappy but servicable gigbag. (£749 in GAK). £430 insured delivery, sorry, after clearance of funds. Or, £430 delivered by me, between Birmingham and Carlisle. Thanks for looking, Karl. Trade for the following? Fender Japan 62 re-issue, pref Sonic Blue or Surf Green. Fender Japan 70's re-issue Precision or John Myung Six string bass. Orange SP212 Isobaric, or Orange 210 Isobaric. Edited to add my feedback thread below. 4. Got mine from Watford Valves last week. Gigged it this weekend, much more flexibilty. Sounds great, really happy with it. Many thanks HJ . Karl.
5. If you still have it after I sell my Aerodyne, I will have it. If you haven't, you wont be bothered anyway . Cheers, Karl.
6.
Hi all. Thought you might like to see the headless Retrovibe RV4 I had made with the final batch. There are a couple of issues in that the bridge tuners don't have comfortable clearance over the tail of the body and the nut/retainer needs some re-jigging but other than that it's pretty much spot on. I should also mention that I only had the one made for personal use. Sorry!
Jumpin Jack Flash!!!!, it's a,
7. These are superb basses. Last one on here went for £380, although somebody was attempting to sell one for £500. Just glad I don't have GAS or I'd be in. Good luck, Karl.
8.
No, but I have a photo of Elvis using it at Woodstock... ficelles
I have that photo, it was in the Sunday Sport .
9. See what happens when you go all Statuses (Statii?) Shuker and SEI? You miss your Geddy's and 75's . Buy this with confidence folks, John is as good as it gets. Actually, buy it bloody quickly, I struggle with 4 strings but this is really tempting!!!!! Karl.
10. Yup, 22 fret Boner (Longhorn originally?) Karl.
11. One of these was my 2nd bass. I'm still in therapy. Karl.
12. These are in conjunction with Tanglewood, have a look at Tanglewoods web site, especially the Overwater bit . Karl.

17. Even if money wasn't an issue, the days of buying a vintage Fender are over for me. Below are just some of the reasons. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...t=0&start=0
18. Wow, what a collection . Welcome Rick. Karl.
19. That's brilliant fellas, many thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Cheers, Karl. Shame a silky hard lustre is a distant memory for me. Ooops, wrong forum .
20. Korean one of a kind?
21. Thanks for that HJ. As ever, expressed myself badly. Like you, both dials are set at around 9 o'clock when gigging. I hate the sound with the gain much past that, when it starts to do that break up/farty kinda thing. Guess I really meant more usable volume. Anyway, thanks to your guide, which even this dumb sh*t can follow, gonna get me some of them there valves ordered at the werekend, and jolly well give it a go . Cheers Jack, Karl.
22. Evening all, please advice Mr. Thick of Wigan. Just recently acquired a Yam bass. First thing it needs is the back of the neck/ side of fretboard seriously cleaning. This bass has really been worked in it's 16 years, and it's got 16 years worth of what I presume is ingrained sweat. I am thinking of very gently, slowly and patiently sanding down the back of the neck and side of fretboard. I remember reading somewhere years ago, about finishing this sort of thing off with several coatings of boiled Linseed Oil. Will be very grateful for any advice. Thanks in anticipation, cheers, Karl.
23. Just come across this thread, brilliant work HJ. Anybody know if this change gives more volume live (yes, I'm aware that is probably the dumbest question asked, but I only have the intelligence God gave me!) Karl.
24. Bump in the hope it goes before I get some spare loot. With respect to other members, Tom really is exceptional to deal with. Good luck fella. Karl.
