1.
Great, all under 9lbs then- that's good. They look great, just need to try one now.
You mention surfing so perhaps you are SouthWest. Think Mark is Brighton based. Perhaps call him, see if you can go try a bass. He is currently showing (admittedly heavy relic) a Burgundy Mist jazz and Fiesta red Precision in stock. Good luck.
  2.
Hmmm might check those out. Got addresses?
Would only make a difference if you bought them over there and snuck them back in. If you purchased from there to send to UK, fairly sure you would have to pay our 20% VAT on full price including shipping. You would also need to pay UK import duties. Think it's the same as buying from States, add about 25% to cover shipping VAT and import. Back at OP, could you not buy a cheapie, then get a proper one sent to your hotel from an Internet dealer in the same country as you are working, if that makes sense?
  3. I often wonder if sub conscious has something to do with this. For millenia, music and dance has been part of the courting/propagation of the species thing. I just wonder if once you get past the main rush of that in life, subconsciously you start to lose interest. Dunno, but I'm very much in the way of don't make 'em like they used to. Regardless, the early 70's were my formative years, and as has already been pointed out, the formative years were days of very frequent new experiences.
  4.
MB1. "Me Old Flower!"
Thanks Charl..................er Martin. All pm's replied. Two potential buyers and one potential Glaub trade all appear to have, er, disappeared. So, reminder bump.
  5. SERIOUS bargain. I could well be in trouble (again ) if my Blue Flower P goes. GLWTS
  6. Stunning basses. The two concentrics give you just that bit more tonal control IMO. The two I had, had fabulous necks. GLWTS
  7. Mine weighs 8lb 13 oz. But it's lightly reliced so more paint on it
  8.
No no no. I'd die of embarrassment.
Link please, we all have to die of something eventually The nights for pub bands are a bit harder nowadays. Back in the day, the pub shut at 10.30/11pm. Now you are still playing at 1.00am in some of them. Can often be 3am when you get home. Mainly cos our piggin drummer has more gear than Carl Palmer

Link to feedback for Ki0gon (John). You will get some idea. Seems his first wiring loom went out in Nov 2010. http://basschat.co.u...ack-for-kiogon/
  10. I guess specs are fairly limited to help Mark bring them in at the superb prices he does. Any response I made would be based on my limited knowledge. Just mail Mark on his website linked in post #68 and he will yay or nay to your specs. Good luck and enjoy. Now go away you butch Precision people

    Feedback for Aero71

Marinus is an absolute gem to deal with. I am very fussy when selling away from the UK, due to a couple of problems in the past. Marinus agreed to my conditions and paid up almost before we had agreed the deal All I had to do was box up the bass FABULOUS FELLA TO DEAL WITH very much recommended. Many thanks for everything Marinus and all the best fella. EDIT, forgot to mention, his English is better than mine
  15. Bet Steve Harris doesn't get as much sh*t from SAGA as I do though
  16. Bit of nylon whipping, bit of routing, great lacrosse bat
  17.
Just got in from a strange Monday night wedding gig...bizarre on a school night. Anyhow second time this weekend my 70's Limelight P has been out and I absolutely love it, changed the pick up though to a wizard trad, the original was ok but I just think the wizard trad has the edge a bit. Anyhow... I love my Limelight and should do a NBD although I've had it for around a month or so ...can't believe I'm enjoying a Precision as well...ahem
We demand a thread. Getting close to possibly somebody starting a Limelight Porn thread?
  18.
Pm'd
See Dougie, I resisted the temptation, hard as it was
  19. Then and now. I am now 56. This year I will do about 45 paid gigs with the weekend warrior cover band I'm in . Next year I will do about 40 with them, plus at least 5 festivals with an originals band from the early 80's that has reformed. Not all of them in the UK. I will also be releasing at least two new tracks, for 2 record label compilations, with the originals band. It may well top out at a full CD/album, whatever they are these days . We old geezers must have some kind of appeal, even if it's just freak, or people would be sat at home with cans and the telly. I will go on for as long as I can even though I have a fretting arm issue. The biggest drawback for me is the day after a gig it really is an effort to get off the sofa One thing that REALLY helps a coffin dodger like me is a 700 watt amp, with suitable cab, and the WHOLE LOT weighing 46lbs Keep on rockin me baby! Then Now

  22. I understand Bravewood have an excellent reputation. The comments I have seen, regarding Bravewood, on Basschat, would seem to back that up.
  23. My first decal attempt was impressive, it adorns the back bedroom wall at a jaunty angle
  24.
A beauty John
Thank you that man
Mrs Axe walked past as I was perusing Karl's photos, and commented: 'Ooh pretty. A girl's I presume?' I have instructed her to fetch her coat forthwith.
Good man. I don't want to be the one to tell her Dr Dave of this parish has one of these basses . I have met him and he could be described as a bloke (no offense Dave if you see this!)
  25. And with my final touch added
