  1. Yup, it's my advert I'm moving them on. I tried the 35-95 Rotos that @4000 suggested. They feel great but I need to spend a little time fine tuning the setup, which I'll do week after next when I'll have time to spend a couple of hours undisturbed.
  2. NOW CUT for Rickenbacker 4003s so won't do for a Fender. One gig on a Precision then first set at the following gig on a Rick 4003s. I don't like the feel sadly. Price includes second class post UK, thanks for looking
  3. Long gone but I'll have a look sometime.
  4. I put a mirror plate on my Buttercream.
  5. Thanks for that King, I have tried that but the screwdriver handle is too thick or the shaft is too short, take your pick 🤣
  6. I tried the Thomastic 344's at last night's gig. Big improvement, the Rick sounded terrific but I still don't like the feel of flats so I'm going to move them on & try those Roto 35-95 next. Anybody got a decent substitute for the £29 Rickenbacker truss rod tool folks? Thanks for everything folks, I think this Rick may be the one I finally get right. I hope 😁
  7. With the retirement of the previous CEO, is it perhaps time for a discussion regarding reviewing the current Basschat position re Rickenbackers?
  8. These first run pre NAMM launch are indeed very special. I had mine up but since we started gigging again over the last few months, I've used it on the gigs where space is a little limited. They are very liberating in not having to worry about a dink/scratch etc. And they play soooooo well🙂
  9. I quite like the idea of trying 35-95, however as can just about be seen by the strings vanishing into the holes, it appears RIC cut the nut with a chainsaw!
  10. If you like the 50's Classic, get the Vintera. The ones I've played have been exceptional. The Player series have just been damn good!
  11. Many thanks guys, really appreciated. A lot to think about (Jeez, about strings???? once upon a time it was Rotosound or Audition 😆).
  12. Many thanks folks appreciated. Which version of TI flats as a starting point? @4000 happy to drop to 40-100 or even 40-95. What would you recommend, I know you are a bit Rick fan with a lot of experience (or is that taste4000, I'm old tha knows!). I just find the Rick has a bit more tension on my usual strings. I have some lower tension Dunlop Super Bright 45-105 on my Road Worn Jazz & they feel good a play great. Perhaps a lighter gauge in them?
  13. D'Addario EXL 165, 45-105
  14. Help if you can folks. I always find string tension on my 4003s a little bit too much. I have thought of the lower tension flatwounds but they are an expensive mistake to make. Anybody's experience, thoughts appreciated. Ta muchly.
  15. Absolute bargain. I sold this excellent bass to Gareth just over 10 years ago. It would have been good to buy it back especially at this great price however 3 Jazzes are already too much. Good luck.
  16. Sold thank God. Margate was far too far & I really didn't want the hassle of sorting a courier. Well done chaps.
  17. You & me both Dunc.
  18. Great basses. Great price. Great seller. Greatly tempting 😁 GLWTS Brian.
  19. Thanks gents. Sadly my DIY mentor was Frank Spencer.
  20. Welcome back David, that is gorgeous! Surf Green, matching headstock, Jazz nut width (or 40mm).💓 Sorry, drifted off there. Ah yes, welcome back.
  21. I got all wallet excited until I saw the back of the headstock. I understand why & I know they are good tuners but.................... 😔 When you put the replacement tuners on, did you leave the original shaft sleeves on the front of the headstock? I know they can be a pig to remove.
  22. Dave has just met me to exchange my Dimension Deluxe for his coins of the realm. It's been an absolute pleasure dealing with Dave, his comms have been great, he did what he said he would do, when he said he'd do it. Even when I managed to find the wrong Abbey car park in Jedburgh (yup, I managed to do that 😚), he was very forgiving & came to find me. A joy Dave, thanks for everything & enjoy that great bass.
  23. Apologies, on hold since last night. All remaining interested parties were informed last night, cheers, Karl.
  24. Has to be said, I love this beast. If either my RW Jazz or Dimension Deluxe had sold (still time on the Dimension) we'd have been meeting again Dave. GLWTS
  25. Further trade offers, appreciated folks but the only trade I've been interested in thus far (pretty local too) doesn't seem to be happening. Somebody asked about neck dive, perfect balance (the Dimension Deluxe, not me!).
