  1. As new, surplus to requirements. Scratchplate & tug bar removed for that JPJ/Sting look, both included. Unlike most early 50's re-issues this has the Tele style headstock BUT a modern C neck profile and a 41.3mm nut width. Not a baseball bat like most. It also has an arm contour, another good thing. I'm taking a £100 hit on this after about 3 months of it sat there doing nowt. Truss rod nut is not made of cheese unlike some of the 2020 basses. I've set this up for me & there were no problems with the truss rod nut at all, moves both ways. I don't want a trade but I do keep looking at the Squier CV 70's Precision especially the black with black blocks. And I'm weak. Collection from Darlington preferred, try through your rig or mine. I will meet up within about 50 miles Courier. I'll box it & give you the dimensions, you would need to organise & pay. That way you will know how much courier insurance costs! Feedback Thanks for looking, Karl.
  2. Indeed Ivory & low production numbers with excellent reputation for being a bit special. I feel the need to move a product of Santa Anna to fund this wonderful bass. Top bloke to deal with as well 👍
  3. @Bassassin had the greatest ever, Radioactive Snot Glo, Vorg Rick copy if I remember correctly.
  4. Perfect chaps, that covers it all. Now, to get round to it 😆 Many thanks guys.
  5. I've not sanded the back of a neck before but can I really do that much damage to a 2008/9 Road Worn Jazz? Anyway, I saw a video that recommended applying lemon oil after sanding. Being a lazy git, I have a little bottle of Fender fretboard refresher which smells a bit lemony. Would it be ok to use that? Thanks in anticipation 🙂
  6. Congrats Matt, gorgeous.
  7. This red looks even better with a mirror scratchplate. Just sayin' 😙😁
  8. Not a high mass bridge Alan but a fabulous bargain especially with those pickups. Great bloke to deal with folks, this is a lot of bass for comparatively little. Good luck mate.
  9. Buggered if I can hear any difference when it's being banged through 500 watts of Orange 😁.
  10. I have worked for Amazon for 15 weeks as a "warehouse grunt". I am leaving on Friday. Reasons. I have enforced 6 day weeks for the rest of the year from next week, including Sundays. I asked for the Sundays to be changed to Mondays (Sat night gigs). They wouldn't change them. If I'm on the north side, it's up to 8 minutes each way to the outside vaping/smoking station. So 16 minutes walking out of the only break (30 minutes) between 6.40am/2.55pm. The main reason though, is other staff and weak management. Girl on station next to me last Friday did 1.5 hours work & spent the rest of the day in her phone either calls, texting or social media. All of which is classed as gross misconduct. 7 managers walked past her through the course of the day. Not one pulled her up. At the end of my shift I asked one why. Response was "I'm too busy". This is the seventh time I've been next to somebody who has done this. They go home with the same pay. They are defrauding Amazon & making a mockery of my hard work. That's the main reason I'm leaving. I'm very lucky, I WANT to work, I don't HAVE to work. They aren't too bad to work for, they pay quite well, they aren't the perfect employer.
  11. Annnnd sold to the chap who can be decisive 😆 Thanks Dave
  12. I'm Spartacus.
  13. Yup, it's my advert I'm moving them on. I tried the 35-95 Rotos that @4000 suggested. They feel great but I need to spend a little time fine tuning the setup, which I'll do week after next when I'll have time to spend a couple of hours undisturbed.
  14. NOW CUT for Rickenbacker 4003s so won't do for a Fender. One gig on a Precision then first set at the following gig on a Rick 4003s. I don't like the feel sadly. Price includes second class post UK, thanks for looking
  15. Long gone but I'll have a look sometime.
  16. I put a mirror plate on my Buttercream.
  17. Thanks for that King, I have tried that but the screwdriver handle is too thick or the shaft is too short, take your pick 🤣
  18. I tried the Thomastic 344's at last night's gig. Big improvement, the Rick sounded terrific but I still don't like the feel of flats so I'm going to move them on & try those Roto 35-95 next. Anybody got a decent substitute for the £29 Rickenbacker truss rod tool folks? Thanks for everything folks, I think this Rick may be the one I finally get right. I hope 😁
  19. With the retirement of the previous CEO, is it perhaps time for a discussion regarding reviewing the current Basschat position re Rickenbackers?
  20. These first run pre NAMM launch are indeed very special. I had mine up but since we started gigging again over the last few months, I've used it on the gigs where space is a little limited. They are very liberating in not having to worry about a dink/scratch etc. And they play soooooo well🙂
  21. I quite like the idea of trying 35-95, however as can just about be seen by the strings vanishing into the holes, it appears RIC cut the nut with a chainsaw!
  22. If you like the 50's Classic, get the Vintera. The ones I've played have been exceptional. The Player series have just been damn good!
