  1. Very tempting, now we're allowed past the end of the street.
  2. The most splendid of Brian's has relieved me of another bass. Simply one of the top of the premier league of Basschat, he makes it such a joy to deal with him. Thanks again Brian & keep safe my friend.
  3. Indeed it is Tom. I guess 62 pages of Sandberg Appreciation Society gives a clue on these basses 🙂
  4. I forgot to mention, as with all Sandberg's this bass is Plek'd for optimum playability.
  5. Thanks Olly, good to hear from you & welcome back 🙂 PLEASE NOTE, it seems there will be more flexibility on travel AFTER March 29th, so I would be happy to meet up (masks, gloves etc) after that date, within a 100 mile radius of Darlington. That will save a buyer £50 or more on an insured courier delivery.
  6. Just wish I knew what he meant 😃
  7. Cheers @Cuzzie That was FAST "It is a polyurethan lack finish sandberg - holger ...from far away"
  8. Many thanks @Cuzzie done & fingers crossed.
  9. Anybody know if the open pore Matt finish is nitro? My search for an answer has failed, due to being more Clouseau than Holmes.
  10. I'd love to get @bagsieblue 's one but need to sell something 1st. These look great & I've never played a bad Sandberg. Congratulations on your NBD 😁
  11. All PM's replied thanks. £750 is the cash price, trade value is £850. A lot less than a new one.
  12. Unlikely. However, I'm weak, a sunburst road worn jazz, American Special Precision or a Flea Shell Pink would easily sway me.
  13. The finish is quite similar to the Fender limited run sand blasted. The "marks" on the back are part of the Ash grain. 40mm nut, rotaries are Vol (push/pull active passive) treble cut or boost (acts as tone control in passive) bass cut or boost. New D'Addario nickel 40-100, new battery, new set up. It seems open pore finish is no longer available on this model. It would cost a minimum of £1250 with standard finish & gigbag. SUPER condition, very versatile for a P type, feedback available. £750 in hardcase collected from Darlington, or organise & pay for your own courier. Keep safe, Karl.
  14. Finding this very hard to resist Martyn 😁
  15. @Alfie Noakes Phil, close enough to a US Geddy?
  16. I don't use any pedals, the amp & basses do all I need. I've done (like many weekend warriors) over 1000 gigs in 40+ years, nowadays I just want simple. As long as it sounds like a bass most punters don't notice me 😁
  17. Yes. Different folk, different requirements. I did 2 gigs with a new band the weekend before lockdown. The Mesa was trouser flapping good with a clean sound, but that was it. I really couldn't get that gnarly bit of fuzz going on for some of the numbers. OBT, click the switch, drop the bass volume a tad. A second to do.
  18. OBT 2 can do JPJ to Lemmy with a bit twiddling on rotaries and a switch, passive basses, no effects. Versatile enough for a cover band doing from Jackie Wilson to Greenday. And wonderful punch! Edit. Much more versatile than my Mesa Subway was (don't seem to be able to change my signature nowadays).
  19. I bought a blue Gibbo with white plate from Lancaster in the late 90's. Didn't like the scale, D neck profile or sitting down with it. Sounded TBird. Sold it for £350. Oops, hindsight. 🤣
  20. Dunno if it's still available https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/epiphone-flying-v-bass-guitar/1397557460
  21. 😁 Yeah, typically I'd bit the bullet on a new Boxer Jazz Bass Special, Sherwood Green Metallic just a few days before. GLWTS
  22. Joe bought a bass off me. Very decisive & made it really easy which is a bit of a trick in current circumstances. Been an absolute pleasure, enjoy that thunderstick of a bass. Fully recommended as a scholar, acrobat & gent of the highest order, cheers Joe 😁
