1. I bought an old acoustic 1x15 cabinet with the wrong replacement speaker in. Emminence were not able to identify the original speaker from the emminence part no I gave them from another cab, and based on the cab dimensions, which are very old school, ie shallow front to back, Im guessing 26 wide by 20 tall but only about 12" deep recomended the basslight. The basslight on Blue aran is marginally more expensive than the Kappa but there is only a couple of quid in it. In the end, I have a basslight, it works fine, so im not looking to change it, I was just curious, thanks for the insight. What would be a good replacement for the 10" in an ashdown abm c110 combo, I use it sometimes on its own in very small venues, but it farts a bit, and i wouldnt mind shaving a few pounds of the weight.

More expensive than some but you get a lot more performance too! Alex
Alex, why do you particulalrly like the kappalight when emminence produce the basslight, which one would assume to be specially voiced for bass, [and I bought one not long ago] Not disagreeing, just curious.
 3. I notice that ashdown come in for a lot of stick here. I have an abm 300 combo, never had a problem with it, but the light failed in the VU meter I emailed ashdown and there was one in the post within an hour of my e mail FOC. Thats great service.
I've only had the DJ5 for three weeks or so and I've come to realise that my Precision will never get jammed/gigged again, so that's up for sale...what I get for that will go against this. P
I said that when my Jo Osbourne arrived I still use a precision as much or more

 7.
Ace Kefford's bass seemed to have a slight mod around the top bout.
Im glad you noticed Im sure there is something 'different' about that bass. The top horn doesnt look right, and it almost looked squashed
 8.
Looked a bit Precision like to me? And don't you think he looked like Paul Whitehouse?..!!!
If you look it has a smaller body and a rounded top horn like a telecaster. I wondered if it was a trecision that had been cut down but the headstock didnt look right Yes he does look a bit like paul whitehouse, At the time he was seen as ultra cool
 9. Whats that bass that Ace keffords playing on Fire brigade?

 11. I would agree with all the people who said its what works for you. I bought a mm5 years ago and used it as my primary bass for some years, and had no real problem after I got settled with it. My problem started when I wanted to swap between a 4 and a five, and it took me ages to get comfortable with going back to the five. OK when I concentrated, but made loads of silly mistakes when I 'relaxed' . I swapped to a lakie 55-02 with a 35 in scale and had no real problem the the extra scale length, and I preferred the neck, but I still was uncomfortable with the change overs. In the end I decided I could get what I wanted from a four, I find a four string neck is more comfortable, and generally a bit lighter, so I sold the five and have only 4s. I kniow some people who are happy with both, and others like me who prefer one or the other
 12.
I've got the 1957 version of that ...
I think you may find thats worth a bob or two We bought one for a friends 60th and it was quite expensive, and it was a mid 60s print
 13. Thanks for sharing those I used go and press my nose against shop window and dream about the futurama I thought it looked much cooler than the only fiesta red strat in portsmouth at the time. I later bought a hofner president for the sum of 46 gns and later a marshall 4x10 blues breaker combo for 110 gns. Wish I still had the amp.
 14. I remember that too although my version was pre 'fab four' The bass players version of Bert Weedons play in a day.
 15. we used to do the ballad of Davey Crockett a la Kentucky Headhunters.

 19.
Anyway, I'm not actually convinced that the sound is much different (if at all) whether through-body or through-bridge. Even if there is a difference many other factors make much more difference, YMMV.
+1
 20.
I'm trying to get an idea of price first. I have absolutely no idea what it would be worth. Once I get an idea, then I'll put a price on it providing its high enough. I forgot to say that the neck has Jazz nut width rather than Precision. The neck's really fast but as I've mentioned before, I played 5 & 6 string basses for quite a few years before coming back to the 4 so any neck is slim to me. I forgot to say that when I was drilling the holes for the bridge cover, I drilled one in the wrong place. You can't see it as it is but would if you took the cover off.
Ok sorry if it has a jazz neck Im not really interested Thanks anyway, looks great
 21. Didnt Graham Mabey use these with Jo Jackson? He sounded pretty awsome to me.
 22.
Don't have a P neck. Basically I bought a body only and Im adding from there. That why I having been asking anal questions for the last week or so.
Ok thanks just wondered if it was for sale
