1.
I've seen this one up close and personal at the London Bass Bash earlier this year. It's in showroom condition, very impressive indeed. T
Hey, thanks essexbasscat - she's still being looked after. Oggy
 2.
Hagstrom Swede? Gretsch Broadkaster? Guild Starfire? Problem is going to be finding someone on here who has one and wants to trade it. Or a nice DeArmond Starfire with Darkstars, and put some money in your pocket. I looked at your ad. Just my opinion FWIW, but I'd link to the site with all the spec details, so people aren't faced with that huge list they may not be that interested in. Plus, I'm not that interested in where you bought the bass and why you can't play it, and justifying the price just sounds defensive. Important things are: The Price, it's in immaculate condition, Les Pauls are great rock basses, you won't ship or take paypal. So that's a couple of short paragraphs, all you need. And if you brought the price down to say £990 it would sound less frightening. Seriously consider shipping. You might want to try before buying, but it's not you you're selling to. I buy unseen all the time, if I didn't I'd never buy anything.
Hi spinynormam, "Hagstrom Swede, Gretsch Broadkaster, Guild Starfire" I though for one minute I was looking at the names of some very obscure beers on the pumps at the PUB, I'll be having a bash with Google. Yup, your comments on my add are totally justified - I should just let the pic's and the link to the Gibson site speak for themselves. Good advice on the price also, although £999 sounds better to me - only joking. I've sort of made my mind up that the bass won't sell even at +/- £900, I'm not being defeatist - I just think that the current economic climate is so harsh that everyone is hanging on to what money they have and I sure don't blame them, worse to come I'm afraid. Trading basses is IMO the way forward, I'm gob-smacked at the low prices and reductions for some very nice basses being sold on this site, wouldn't have seen that 12 - 18 months ago. Anyway thanks again, I'll work with your advice. Oggy
 3. Hi Basschatters If any of you guys are at a lose end on THURSDAY 21st OCTOBER and are in the Camden area, close to Kentish Town Tube Station and Chalk Farm, my band BLUES TRINITY could do with a wee bit of support. Three bands on at the 'Fiddlers Elbow', we're playing the 8:45 - 9:30 slot. Come on down for a bit of Blues/Rock and have a listen and a chat. We've got a couple of guys with CamCorders coming to do a few clips for YouTube and our web site so (any) your support would be really appreciated. Oggy EDIT:- 19-10-10 This is going to be the last gig we do with our drummer 'Mike', he’s leaving due to personal stuff getting in the way . He’ll be really missed by Tony and myself; we’ve played with him for three years now. If any of you guys know of any good Blues/Rock drummers based in the North London area who are looking for a band please give me a shout. --------------------------------------
 4. I’ve had this Gibson Les Paul Standard Bass -THIS BASS - up for sale on the site for some time now and had no interest, I can understand that - what with the current economic climate and the Bass being a bit of an acquired taste sort of thing. Instead of it being kept under the bed I was thinking that perhaps I should try for a trade for a Short or Medium scale Bass of equal quality / price, at least I'd have a bass then that I could use. I currently have a Fender Mustang and Gibson SG Re-Issue Short, so I wouldn’t be interested in another of either. For those of you guys ‘in the know’, what other Short / Medium Sale Basses would be of similar quality / price I could possibly ask to trade for? I’d grateful for any input from other site members. 5. What is it about this Bass that makes me want to own it? I only - attempt - to play 4 string short scale Basses these days. BEAUTIFUL
 6. Hi fellow Basschatters, My band has a couple of guys with (pro quality) camcorders coming to a gig in the next couple of weeks ‘Fiddlers Elbow – Camden – 21st Oct’ (shameless plug) to do some video / sound recording for us to post on YouTube and our own web site! The idea is that if we can get 2 or 3 good numbers from the set and post them on the web for promo we might get a few more gigs. None of the tracks or video content is for sale, just for band promo. My question to you chaps is: How does copyright effect what we post? We’re a Blues/Rock band and all our stuff is covers – Joe Bonomass, BB King, Clapton, all the usual suspects. Would we have to get permission from artists or writers to post our interpretations? Do we need to ‘credit’ anyone? Will I find a Lawyer on my doorstep? What can you chaps tell me?????? Oggy

 9.
Hello fellow bass players I played hundreds of gig from early 90's to 2001 but retired from bass playing. Recently I was coaxed into doing a gig at my company picnic. I played the following bass solo (re-recorded the next day since the camera at the company function did not pick up the solo): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRIb4zQXM6Q Since it was the first time I had played in nearly a decade I decided to have a little fun. I'd love to hear from other bass players what they thought of my playing after a 9 year period of no playing. Criticism is welcome. Thanks in advance!
You didn't retire - you were just resting. Welome back to the low end - Love your Rik. Oggy
 10.
Cheers! Originally this tune was going to be about Desmond Dekker's dancing, but we are saving that one for later! Glad you like it Zak
Not to much later I hope, I'm not sure how long I have left . I was getting on when Mr Dekker was having his first hits . Keep at it Rood Boy. Oggy
 11. Pretty Please - A Little Help Or Advice Would Really Be Appreciated Hi fellow Basschatters, I’m wanting to get a YouTube video together of our band! Problem is we don’t have any young / old / male / female enthusiastic friends to do the honours with a video camera. We're not looking for anything Hollywood style, just something that we can point venues at when they ask “You on YouTube then? Wanna see what you look like”. We have a web site and are on Lemonrock where we’ve posted some MP3’s and a few gig photos but It looks as though we’ll have to bite the bullet and get some video footage on YouTube to satisfy some of the prospects. I’m not asking for any freebees, I'm happy to pay to get something half decent done; so my question to you fellow Basschatters is: Are any of you guys or your mates or anyone you know into this sort of thing; can you help us? £££££££ We’re based in Hertfordshire (Watford area), hope someone in the Hertfordshire / London / Anywhereshire area can help us. Please drop me a PM or point me at someone via this thread. Thanks Chaps. Oggy You can see / hear what you might be letting yourself in for by having a look on either Our Web Site or Our Lemonrock Page EDIT 05/10/10 - Bold plea added to top of post

 15.
Stop talking about these basses!!!!! I want one so bad but I just can't afford it
Hi El Bajo, There are at least two BB414 Basses for sale in the 'Basses For Sale' section - at not bad prices. Just type 'Yamaha BB414' in the Search Box of Basses for Sale section. Not forgetting that I've also got a BB414 in Basses For Sale, only one month old, it's up for a ‘Swap or P/X’. Best of luck Oggy
 16. Hi Bidd, I reckon you got your price spot on; I watched one of these got for £139.99 at the weekend on evilbay. I've also got one on the site as a P/X or Swap - looks like it'll be the evelbay though. I have to say that I'm very impressed with the build quality and available tones on these basses. All things being equal, you should get what you want for it - good luck with the sale bump. Is your Dad's camera charged yet? Just a though - the odd photo - of how it looks now - might help. Oggy
 17.
thanx Oggy for the nice words this bass is waiting for the right person....soooo bump!
Hi HiperiOn, I'm the right person, I've just got the wrong bank account - working on it though. Oggy Still lusting :brow:
 18.
I love the PRS Tremonti SE but I don't think they do a low price point bass, I've never played one of their basses, they are pricey and they don't look like my type of thing. Sorry for the earlier joshing.
Hi Wayne, Never be sorry for 'joshing', I'm sure it helps the world turn - well that a few quid plus loads of music of course. Oggy
 19.
We were joking about sorry, The Burpster will be along soon, he is the authority on PRS basses, he will give you all the info you need.
Hi Wayne, I was at the rehearsal studio last night and one of the staff members was playing on his ‘PRS Tremonti SE’ six string thing so I had a little play on it, I have to say that it was a really nice (IMO) bit of kit. The fret board was nice and wide and not too thick, great action and the finish and hardware looked pretty robust, nice and light as well. I asked him about pricing and he told me you could pick up a really good second hand one for £200 - £300, he wasn’t telling porkies – I checked it out on evilbay this morning. I’m in the market for a Guitar at the moment and from my experience last night I wouldn’t turn my nose up to one of these. My thinking was – if PRS do a nice Guitar they might do a nice Bass – I was a bit surprised at the initial reaction here. It would be interesting to hear from site members their thoughts and experiences, if any, of PRS Bass guitars though. Chances are I’d not be after a PRS Bass; unless they make a Short or Medium Scale one, hard to find any information on them though. Oggy
 20.
waynepunkdude Posted Today, 09:38 AM I don't think anyone on here has one and there is defiantly no one who likes them....... Raggy Posted Today, 09:46 AM Wot he sed ^
Hi Wayne / Raggy, Why is this? Oggy
 21. Hi Basschatters, PRS Bass Guitars Availability / Prices / Thoughts on them?? Anyone know of UK suppliers websites where I can have a look at what PRS offer in the line of Basses? I’ve not come across anyone using a PRS Bass, I’m just curious about them having seen and played a wee bit on a PRS Tremonti SE last night (Forgive me father for I have sinned - it had 6 teeny weenie strings on it and curiosity got the better of me). Oggy
 22. Hi Mark, This is one seriously nice Bass. I had the C4P until quite recently; unfortunately I had to pass it on as the finger joints continue to develop arthritis so I’ve migrated to short scale. I could never get my head around why Cort Basses are not more popular with Bass players in general. I really like the maple top on this one, if the neck is as good as the C4P I bet she plays beautifully. Just a wee bump for a great Bass, great price – best of luck with the sale. Oggy
